Looks mint we should do that route, oh wait hang on we did! Shame you missed the 2 little descents down to stocksfield.
Which ones? Can’t remember them to be honest. Might have been oxygen depletion!
Canny looks and sounds rapid on the HT! 👍
Nice tracks I theres a few I havent done, I will have to give them a try!
Go for it!
@@fatnumbnutz I tried them at the weekend there was a couple i couldn't find because i had no phone signal Mad Max and Procrastinate. They where all decent but the bottom half of Amanda hold I had a few near death experiences
Considering we were riding it blind and it was greasy in places and unsighted in other's we did alreet Jackie. 👍 4.5k feet day wasnt too shabby shame tge gopro malfunctioned and we didnt catch a lot of it.
anyway of tracking this route brother? always been my favorite trail center but its a 5 hour round journey from me so haven't been for a while now 😎😎

Class, see what yous mean about no handlebars, front wheel, arm action, chest is best but not in wet an sloppy conditions, all looking good except you getting confused on braveheart and going to pot! 🤣 #keepupandyouwontgetlost #justsayin
where abouts are these?do you have a strava map?
Class day, great trails and mint little edit 👍
Thanks 👍
Nice one Jackie! You didn't introduce you 2.7million screaming fans I mean flys that followed us but mainly you round the entire 22 miles! 🦟🪰🦟🪰
It must be my attractive aura (or my stinky scent).
New tracks look great.....whereabouts are they pls
Opposite side of the river to Walkerburn (where tracks like feed the pony finish). Next hill beside Innerleithen.
Mint mate
Really enjoyed that Ian.😃👏
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for letting me know too. Cheers
Canny, think the trig trail looked as good fun on vid as it was to ride, think we made blind trail riding look quite easy. And the new follow cam dude adds a certain something to the mix just not sure what! 🤣 🤣 🤣
You may have found your new vocation. You tuber extraordinaire!!
I’m going there in August what level did you do?
Not 100% sure but think I selected one back from the highest selection. Intermediate? To be fair, the guides explain the things to look out for at the start of each track and stop at big features, so it’s pretty safe.
Awesome, do you know the trail names or have a Strava route I could check out?
Sure, check out ‘Ian Tate’ from Stanley. All Hamsterley routes are on there.

Fire 🔥🔥
Another good vid Ian. The bit after the DH climb is that on the Dannys descend park or just past it?
Any chance of ya GPX route? Been up there recently and know a few of the tracks you did but that last one looks the best but wheres the start?
I'm still sussing it out as well but I can help you there. From the car park follow the top fire road until there's a fenced off right turn, climb the hill then follow the trail keeping left until you get to the steep bit. The track is a bit pedally at the start but it's a good run back down to the car park. Definitely scope for more down there now that it's cleared (if permitted anyway)
Yes mate, have a look on my strava - it’s ’Ian Tate’

@@fatnumbnutz cheers
He paeaked too early
He did. He does that! 😬
That's one way to build someone's confidence! 🤣 🤣 🤣 Looks absolutely prime gutted I'm temporarily out of action....
Was hoping in the quick edit you were going to speed me up, Dagnambit!
Class day.! Sun was very out, out! I didn't bring my A-game I didn't bring my E-game come to think of it but mint day, top craic, no crashes, mechanicals or injuries so that goes down as a belta. 👍
Stage 5 was an XC race not an enduro stage! Looked pretty good definitely recognised some of it you need a higher gopro mount for when it's wet muddy.
Yis. Twas pedally alright. I need to try my helmet peak with go pro mount. See if it’s any better.
Nicely ridden 🤟
Thanks!
Looks absolutely mint mate. Is it steep? Looks flat. Fast, dry & dusty trails🤙👌
Generally not steep, has a few steep bits in it but hardly pedalled at all so must have had some gradient. You know the camera makes everything look flat. You would love it mate.
Canny, trails look super flowy and fun but the dust looks like its a nightmare, I think it's dust anyway can't remember what it looks like been so long, Your suspension sounds like it needs another service by the end of the vid somethings sounding a bit squeaky! You found another 50p too, result 👍
Trails are good and yes, pretty dusty. Squeak seems to be suspension but needs new headset bearings for sure. I found quite a few 50cents this holiday. At least 3 each day!
Nice, look a bit more on it! I remember following davey brown down the the top part of the chute at guissy and he skidded down the steep dusty slope that crosses the fire road at the top and litterly could see what I was riding down in the cloud of dust but on vid you could see through the cloud quite well so I can imagine you can't see much at all cos it's bad on vid at times, not good when you're riding blind! (litterly) like plinky said well done hanging onto those pesky, poppy, playful, energy filled yoofs!
Nice riding dude! Trails look sweet... well done for keeping up with the youth!!
Pickin the dust out of your nose and teeth for a week!
Yis, I was super mega dusty. Even after washing my gear is dusty.
Cheers. It’s a start, we’ll get there. Wasn’t quite as quick on the ups!
Very good sir, good to see once you weren't held back by me you opened the taps and got a proper wriggle on.... Blunts saw, pump action and Alrighty looked sped up you were going that quick! 👏👏👏 👍 Bravo sir
Canny glad you caught my head stand! 🤣 🤣 🤣
Definitely correct names…nice riding!
Hooray, great success!! Thanks man!
These are my local woods and it’s not quite what it was pre Arwen but it’s still one of my favourite places.
Yes, it’s a shame some of the tracks are gone, but it’s still one of the best places around the North East and we love it!!
Nice, some canny footage Jackie 📽️ I must of seen fiddy P too! Think mills found one later on as well
You need to send your gopro in for some sort of recalibration cos those tracks were way steeperer and slipperyer than that, I was expecting footage of us riding down the north face of the eiger! 🤣
It’s always the same.
my kind of trails be given it a lookseys next couple of weeks
They’re good fun, my only advice is go when dry!
That 2nd track is Big Dipper, not Freddy K.
Ok thanks mate. I have no local knowledge and so it’s quite tricky trying to call them from strava. Cheers
Yeah, they’re closely packed in on that hillside. You weren’t too far away from it…
@@iainwhitaker161we did ride it, just didn’t capture it in film I think. All good stuff tho.
@@fatnumbnutz good man, it’s a great track, not for the faint hearted!
No bid of the bottom part of Amanda hold on?
How do you get onto the trail at 5:50 I can’t seem to find the start of any of them on that hill. Do you need to walk up them?
Bit hard to describe. If you follow the fireroad out of the top car park to the t-junction. Bare left and follow all the way down the hill through the right / left turns and go down a bit further there lots of tracks coming out the trees on your left. You can push up there to the top.
Try this dropped pin maps.app.goo.gl/pkT8dY7wtcccLoux6?g_st=ic
Got ya, cheers👍
Dude how are you going so quick in there :O awesome riding man \,,/
Cheers, it was super slippery so didn’t feel fast.
Looked to be shifting through them woods 👏. Great video and looked a lot of fun 👍
Thanks. It’s always good fun up at Thrunton. Tracks are short but pretty intense!
Doesn't do it justice how minging and treacherous it was but class all the same, hard day out but good fun.
Aye canny, looks fast on footage than it felt at the time, felt mostly pedestrian maybe not! 👍
Looks good and flowy
It feels better than it looks. Pua joy
👍 Looks good fun
It is mate. It’s class, you’d love it!

Cannnnnnnny! I'd hate to see the first days footage if that was the "drier" day. some good fast looking runs there boys, hopefully I'll join you next time 👍 🚀🚀🚀
Sounds good! Hope you do dood
Class vid, fast down my local! ;)
Thanks mate!
Incorporating cold water swimming and mount biking is my contribution to humanity! 🥶🥶🥶🥶
Let’s be honest, it’s the only part of the video that’s worth watching. Humanity appreciate your contribution! Legend
