Thank you ! The Land cruiser was rented out from @Gladiola adventure. I used them twice, they are amazing ! They deliver you the Toyota at the airport, fully equiped with camping equipment, gaz, chairs, camping table.. If you need some advices you can ask them and the you are out on your own. By far the best way to experience a Safari in this region. I am not sure about the price of the car anymore. You need to include the daily fee for the park, and the fee for the type of camping you choose. It can either be a public campsite or a private campsite. Depending of what you choose they use a small fee for it. It is an easy trip, download maps me and you can't get lost. When in the park, just drive and look. Despite being without a guide you won't miss anything ! When you pass buy an other safari car people are used to ask each other if they saw something, all cars have a VHF radio as well. If you want to see a rhino for exemple, just ask and somebody will answer were a rhino is currently spotted.

Thanks for sharing this video. I am thinking of doing this self drive with my family. Our trip is over 2 weeks. I often read about how important it is to have a guide, so, is it really necessary? N all the NP would have campsites? How did you settle the food? Cook it yourself?

This is a second trip in Tanzania, both time self guided (on our own without local guide) ! I would not consider it any other way ! The environement is relatively simple, there are public campsites in the park. Our landcruiser was equiped with a camping stove and cooler. A big grocery shopping in Arusha on the way and we were good for the week !

Dope. I'm going next month. Interesting way to do it, being flown into a remote cabin, how'd you find that? I'm staying in Reefton, 6 days guided, 3 days flying into the mountains by Heli, just for the day fishing then flying back.

Hi South Pacific Pilot, really cool video. Would you recommend to stay overnight at camps/lodges or did u guys just camp with the car? If you did stay at lodges, was ist from one to the other or did you stay in one place the whole time? Thanks for the help.

Hello. We had a Landcruiser with the tent on the roof. That way we were completely autonomous in the park. To be on your own at night with the wildlife really raise the experience (make sure you keep any food or trash locked inside the car, the hyenas managed to open the door of the car to still the trash bags while we were sleeping on the roof, they also took away the flip flops that we left down the ladder). We stayed all nights in Nyani campsite It is a public campsite so you just need to inform the Park at the gate or in the airport in Seronera . There are many campsite, all around the park. Nyani is very close to Seronera so very well centered to go on trips during the day. I would recomend staying in the tent some night and finishing with a night in a lodge to enjoy a bit on of extra comfort, nice shower and a nice meal at the end.
