I saw this series in the 80's, in most episodes I only recall bits & pieces of some of the episodes none of the stories made a lasting impact until yesterday morning I saw this episode on TV about the dog & wow I was blown away by the shocking unexpected ending. I must've missed it in the '80's because I would've remembered it, it inspired me to look for the series on You Tube & every season & episode is on here. I searched for it not knowing the title. Michael Landon really knocked it out of the park with this one.
