How to Install Öhlins Shock - CRF250L
I just picked one of these up a week or so ago. I'm very happy with it so far and I could see myself carrying this knife for years to come. Very helpful video for when I eventually have to do some maintenance on it.
@@TheCosmicDrama I still use mine. It’s a fantastic design and well made too.
For anyone trying to catch that exact part number he used: 85345K411
The reservoir is suppose to go under the rear fender just like a atv❗️
i saw a video about the 2 small o-rings and its benefits for the oil pressure in general and ordered right away 6 of them at BMW (got two E39, an some spare ones for later ;-)). You'll have to use the original green ones, they're more resistant to the heat.
thanks i will try something like this, my ender3 worked great when it was new but then i stopped using it and stored something on the bed and now its low in the middle and no amount of adjusting fixes it
Nice video, how is the quality of this product? and is 8L enough or better upgrade to 22L? is this product comparable to Lone Rider? it is worth for money because it is really pricey. Anyway great video Be safe & God bless
@@petroosabdollahian1648 my recommendation would be to buy the largest one you can reasonably afford. For short trips or packing extremely light, this works well. If you plan on packing full camping gear, definitely buy one size up from this one.
@@Casey_Schmidt thank you for your answer to my question, I want to use it every day for work and commuting and for a weekend trip for a few days and I stay at an Airbnb or hotel so again massive thanks for you reaction comment drive carefully & enjoy it
There's nothing wrong with those speaker connections you snob
Interesting video. Thanks for making and sharing it. I was curious how the pedal system worked. Cheers !
Интересный вариант подложки(основания) кроссовера!
Awesome video thanks man
Great video!
@@DavidBojorquez thank you, sir!
You cut down the binding posts many speakers use that type of post that doesn't make him necessarily bad as long as they do the function of getting the power to the speakers who cares
Perfect for the 2024 as well
Got these codes and my new gas cap fixed it. This was yesterday. Gas cap was rotting and metal tabs bent in. Since the new cap no codes and no CES light.
GREAT video! I thought my bed was warped, but after following your process I discovered that the bed is OK, it was just a mis-adjusted Z axis limit switch.
Thanks for the vid! Thinking of getting one for my crf300l SM
My dad had a 10hp and it would pull a school bus he used it in tractor pulls also .
How do you put them back in? Can you?
Hey, do you still have your n52 bmw?
@@kxlxv2137 unfortunately I do not
@@Casey_Schmidt Ahh, sad to hear that. I'm currently in the process of doing the magnesium valve cover swap, and your videos are very informative, and really help me go forward with it. Thanks a lot.😊
@ good luck!
Just nonsense changing the components make no difference there's nothing wrong with the components in it. Values and orders would make it difference anything I would do on that crossovers move the HF inductor put it where the capacitor is and put the capacitor where the inductor is give it more distance there will be some crossover that's not necessarily a bad thing you might need to change earlier aspects because of it
How thick did you go with the G10?
Yeah mine is to large to go through that spacing. So that is great. 100% correct shock for my 2017 crf250L according to ohlins and shop that sold it. And no the recervoir does not go through there. Might have to grind metal. It does not go smooth like yours at that angle. To me it almost looks like not even the same bike in that area. .
@@jkmayhem is there really that much difference between just a few model years?
@@Casey_Schmidt No idea. When i see the video and my bike. There is zero chance of it going through. Allmost like the recervoir is larger dia. Even watched the ohlins mounting video. They ghave zero hassle. I dont get it. shock lenght etc is exactly the same as original.
@@jkmayhem it would add a lot of work but maybe consider dismounting the engine from the frame. That way you don’t have to make any permanent modifications like grinding. If you can, post a video of what you come up with and let me know. I’m interested to see the differences.
Had to grind and bend that litt bracket that is in the way. Got it through. Bent it back and done.
I’m getting the gas bag vs mounting a giant new gas tank which looks bad to me, I have a xr650l and definitely need a bag for extra gas, thanks for the video
My dad and I drove through that same tunnel back in 2002. Those things on the ceiling must be catching the water that back in 2002 was running straight off the rock and onto the road(a lot of water too).
Does the EJK control idle fuel at all?
@@scorsesefan91 it’s been a long time since I read the documentation on it. I don’t think it does but I could be wrong.

Pins 3 and 4 are your com wires and when resistance tested with a MM they should be between .8 and 3.6 ohms
Thanks !
Well just completed this job on a cold NC afternoon. Talk about one messy proposition lol… The belly pan had a half inch layer of gunk (E39 Dinan stage II 250k miles) likely all attributed to the original power steering reservoir leak. I’m the original owner have replaced thousands of parts and do all my own work outside of two radiator replacements (known issue they just fail after about 100k) but have put this messy job off thinking it was more difficult than it really is. Anyway your video helped immensely. Really isn’t that complicated of a job just hard to reach areas and those damn oetiker clamps are a ridiculous design. Sleek sure but single use and you have to have the crimp tool to put on and they’re a bugger to pry off. I missed the part of your video a few months back on the standard clamp smaller size 12-20 instead of what FCP sends with the kit 20-32. Luckily I had some 12-20’s. My new reservoir in the kit was a different brand, did not have the Z on it but same material and style so that must be what they’re putting in the kits now. 🤷♂️ Was a little worried my 13mm socket wouldn’t fit between the two lines in the front to remove that bracket but there was barely enough room and it popped right off but for those tackling this job quite a bit of fluid does come out of the radiator housing where the lines go in to. Have a drop cloth or pan underneath to avoid a driveway stain.
Thank you for sharing the tips and the tutorial, it's really helpful and easy to follow
Thanks for showing your process with the 120. I just spooled my first two rolls of HP5 Plus. I just completely separated the backing from the film, but then I had to figure out what was the film and which one was the backing, being my first try with this.

Isnt that the m56 valve cover?
@@skinprison you’d be correct. I swapped it over from the plastic one. It worked out exceptionally well for me.
@@Casey_Schmidt Nice! But you left the original ccv still hooked up?
@ yes with a short piece of hose to connect them. It worked just fine for me; although it’s not a visually elegant solution.
Triangle speakers suck...I have quartets and borea...and tweeters blow. Absolute garbage
That's not a DB killer. That is a plug. A baffle has holes in its side.
I just purchased a pair of Triangle Borea 07 floorstands because my old friend told me this brand is easy load for low powered tube 10w amps but when i saw that floorstander with minimum impedance 5 Ohm and 92dbwm y just into get two of it, i think it will pair great with my also on way "amp for more than 4 ohm speaker" "low THD" Topping B100 monoblocks, my great sounding Promitheus TVC passive inductive line stage and my also Topping E50 DAC powered by linear PSU all wired with canare interconnects and Sommer coaxial speaker cable, great teardown liked subcribed!
Just found this same exact tool laying in the intersection today as I was stopped at a light. Laying face up the direction lever was just a nub. Anyway, I want to thank you for your vid. Personally, I appreciate and prefer watching and learning as you noodled through to the fix and repair. You have given me the confidence and info on the part to fix mine. Just know this is helping someone even after 3 years since making the vid. Thank you, Ray
Thank you so much I'll be working on my lens and this helps a lot!

Great job, bro. Could you please tell me the size of the hose you use to connect the connectors you reused? Thanks a lot.
Is it AN10?
@@yuchilee-q6y nothing was AN. It believe it was 3/4” ID hose. It’s been a very long since I worked on this project so you’ll have to go back through the series to check.
Great video…as a frequent DIY guy on a 2001 E39 Dinan the hose removal fluid splash gave me a good belly laugh because sometimes that’s just how it goes even though you as I am are trying to minimize mess as much as possible. My pump container and hoses are still the original, has leaked a little for years but I’ve avoided tackling it but it is time. Seems you really only had to replace the hoses and seals not the fluid container but if not that expensive why not and ensure it’s all new. (Update…I see it’s all part of the kit and the filter in the container as well) Great job.
Sounds like a mechanic/ previous owner had a bad day after working on that "where the hell did I out it" to "who stole my ratchet" lol, got some snap on mixed in with other sockets, wrenches etc in a tool box for $10 ( 95% was generic and craftsman, but got 10 or so sockets, a crowfoot wrench and a flex head ratchet which brought me to this video.) It always amazes me how to one person, something is a rusty trash tool, and to another its 30 minutes of effort to make it a $80 tool
I like your shots, nice pictures!
