Splendida esecuzione come tutte quelle di dalb erto. A me sembra sempre che suoni col cuore
la musique est géniale, comme sa transposition, et les interprètes merveilleux
What a forgettable piece of music. What ever inspired Shchedrin to write like this?
Great interview! Thank you both!
Excellent Maestro Sitkovetsky.
Part of our marching show is Midnight and it sounds so good
Brillantes Maestros y Excepcionales Violinistas . Bravo

Where was the orchestra held?
Performed in 1985 at the Avery Fisher Hall. PBS of New York must have the video tape.
I recently discovered your channel and subscribed. I look forward to exploring your prior uploads and those you will add. As a devotee of Klaus Tennstedt, I was familiar with this concert from Mark Hood's excellent channel. As you likely are aware, many of your mother's recordings, as well as a number of your father's, are available on RUclips, where I have greatly enjoyed them.
A dark room -- the door opens, a shaft of light enters and with it little kittens, purebreds, street urchins, shy ones, dirty faced ones, all who dance, gavotte, plie, roll on the floor, wrassle and mew with delicious happiness -- and as the tempo increases, they jump happily about, without a care in the world. Then....as the mewsic fades, they all run out, tumbling one over the other with baby feline joy. The door closes. The room is once again dark, but it contains a palpable joy that had not been there before. Goodnight, all you sweet kitties. ManKIND, please be KIND.
Yulian Sitkovetsky was the greatest violinist that ever existed...
The sky being covered with darkness, all little purposes of those who don't belong to this very hour of Being taken away by slumber, man's life and work, the city, exposed to the widening night and, amid this nudity of man's soul, god revealing himself as music and the earth responding to the widening, divine-resounding sky (or maybe 'sky-resounding god')... Maybe this Chants (I hope their right to the capital is understandable) in this beautiful and mighty performance become for some rare spirit reason enough and mandatory to learn Russian.

We played this in college, I was the trumpet player. The first movement wasn't too tough, but the second was a MFer, especially since it's scored for C trumpet and I had to transpose on my Bb. The next week I borrowed a C from my teacher and at least it wasn't as difficult. This guy is doing it on a Bb, he's really good.
I attended her concert with Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra at Eastman Theater around 1983. I remember that she performed Rachmaninoff piano concerto No. 3. with RPO. It was a great performance. Nowadays, I tried to find any recordings of that performance but I could not find one.
My mother never played Rachmaninov no.3 or 2. She often played Paganini Rhapsody (no.5), not so often no.1 and rarely no.4. There is a great recording of her with Concertgebouw/Jarvi of Paganini rhapsody + S.Saens no.2
It was long ago. Paganini Rhapsody (no.5) would be correct. Thank you.
Si, bravo

Beautiful! Gypsy...
Thanks, Dmitry! You really have to upload more videos and her performance to help perserve the name and arts of such a great pianist and musician. I am still listening to her CDs very often to get inspiration and to learn from her. Her playing technique is just amazing and we don't find this in the younger generation pianists today. Her tone is so round and powerful, yet it is filled with so much nuance in colouring. It is so solid that it seems it will never land on a wrong key. I watched your interview with her done a few years back, and was so glad that you took the time to do that. Thank you and thank you again.
Beautiful performance. When and where?
Clear melody♪

Such brilliant, evocative music! If I could compose as half as brilliantly...

Wonderful melody, played by a great artist! Used to go to the concerts given by his mother Bella Davidovich in Amsterdam.

Dear Dmitri, it’s very shivery to hear your first descendant chromaticism. I tried, but it was always too much or too inconsequential. What a delight to have found your recording! Blessings
Thank you very much dear Ayke! I hope you are well, warm greetings from NYC!❤
Beautiful performance. Dear Dmitry, using the musical freedom expressing the beauty and emotion of the living soul.
