    Hi, great review, thanks for this as I'm on the look for a cage for my a7IV... DO you know if there is any way of mounting the FX3 XLR Handle on this new design (using the Small Rig mounting plate model MD4019)? Probably not :(

    • @Noahs_Photography
      @Noahs_Photography 15 дней назад

      I'm not sure but I don't think it would work since it looks like it needs a flat top on the cage and the mounting points on the Rhino cage are a little limited on the top. I'm not familiar with that part or the audio top handle so I could be wrong.

    I think your basic small rig cage is of an older generation. My cheaper a7iv cage has the battery door, HDMI clamp, two points of attachment, tool in the bottom and arca swiss plate. It’s also significantly less clunky than the one you showed. It is a little bit less sleek but I don’t see myself missing anything from my basic version. Still a cool video, keep it up

    Reducing haze and clarity while adding texture and grain helps a lot to soften the image

    • @zip5644
      @zip5644 26 дней назад

      nah you need a bit of clarity in the image because of the dynamic range of film. reducing the haze does help a lot though. you can also bring in the images in photoshop and add a gaussian blur to the highlights to bloom them with an action in photoshop though. thats my preferred method for the best film look.

    If you have android you can avoid ultra processed images by downlading an app called Open Camera and entering the settings and turning off oversharpening, off the noise reduction and using log and raw procesing and you will see the big diference, i don't know if this exist in the apple appstore

      I've heard good things about the 50 f1.4 Takumar, maybe in the future, I'll get one. I'd really like to get the 85mm f1.8 but it's one of the most expensive unfortunately. I think the 35 and 85 would pair well together and make for a lightweight, compact setup. I'd highly recommend the SMC 35mm f2 if you can find one for a good price.

    When choosing your sling, it is important to consider the size too, not too big, not too small. Ideally with some straps for a travel tripod under. Peak Design (while pricey) makes some good ones in that field.

    For anyone going to Amazon to buy a bag after this: Amazon Basics' Sling is a complete ripoff of PeakDeisgn's Sling. The differences are that you get worse quality materials, the materials aren't recycled (and hence worse for the planet), and the workers aren't paid a living wage. Both your camera equipment and the workers making the bag deserve better. Do not buy Amazon Basics.

    I want to move to a sling bag. I always use my 30 or 56mm with body and keep 1 extra battery on me, but I have to take a backpack because I will easily drink 5 waters per shoot and still be thirsty because of how much I'm sweating (these car meets are hottttt in Florida summer)

  • @Htbaa
    @Htbaa Месяц назад

    I got a backpack with a magazine subscription, I think it’s from Case Logic. It screams camera bag. I never use it anymore. Bought a Thinktank Mirrorless Mover (5i or something) some years ago. Doesn’t screen camera bag as much due to the more neutral colors. It’s OK, but when I sling it around the open/close the bag it really requires two hands to do so. That is because it opens from inside to outside (if that makes sense). Makes it harder to steal from the bag I suppose. These days if I take my camera out I try not to take any extra gear with me. Just the camera, a lens I’ve chosen and an extra battery. If possible I’ll improvise an insert to put it in a regular backpack. Really don’t want to make it look like I’m walking around with a lot of expensive gear. I really should look into getting a proper insert that I can toss in a regular bag.

  • @DominikMarczuk
    @DominikMarczuk Месяц назад

    I've shot it and I generally prefer it over Gold, though I don't mind either when there isn't a price difference. The "stylised" look doesn't affect me as much because when I convert my neg scans, I go for a neutral white balance anyway. If lab scans are the only option though, ColorPlus has less pronounced yellows and cooler greens, which I find more pleasing.

    Hmm, to be honest, the filter has the same effect as the wide-angle lens on my old Pixel 5. Water got inside, and it always had a slight frosted glass look due to the lens being fogged up from the inside.

    • @Noahs_Photography

      You could, but this might overly soften the image rather than bloom the highlights and its not a very permanent solution. If you really want this effect I would recommend a proper diffusion filter.

Fast forward to last year and I acquired a 65 Pentax SP Spotmatic, I love it, it’s brought film photography back into my life, I just recently bought a 74 Spotmatic SP F, I now have two body’s to go with my Takumar lenses, 28, 50, 55, 135, and 300.
