BuckeyeNationRailroader

Добавлен 11 ноя 2016
The state of Ohio is often known as a place of memes, cornfields (Lots of cornfields), and Trump. However one of its most overlooked qualities is the states rich history in railroading, and that is what I intend to bring. Welcome to BuckeyeNationRailroader. As the name implies I bring trains throughout the state of Ohio to RUclips, but I do travel outside the state frequently to bring railroad action to the screen. Other activities I do include body building, basketball, gaming, and studying history. Enjoy the show, and as always, Go Buckeyes!
Oh come let's sing Ohio's praise
And songs to Alma Mater raise
While our hearts rebounding thrill
With joy which death alone can still
Summer's heat or winter's cold
The seasons pass the years will roll
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ...

Elkhart Indiana Part II: CPKC Holiday Train and other Night Time action
Просмотров 5714 дней назад
In Part II we focus on night time railfanning in anticipation for the CPKC Holiday train. In the time frame from the sun went down until the train showed up, there were plenty of Norfolk Southern trains that passed through. Amtrak's Floridian and Lake Shore Limited are seen, and CPKC Trackage Rights Trains are seen.

Elkhart, Indiana is located a few miles East of South Bend and is home to a gigantic classification yard that Norfolk Southern originates and terminates several trains in daily. Norfolk Southern isn't the only railroad that can be seen in Elkhart, Amtrak, CPKC, and the Grand Elk Railroad all can be seen on any given weekday. In Part I we will be focusing on the daylight action through town.
21 Train Sunday in Marion feat. CSX 1852, CSX 1827, and NS 1074
Просмотров 65Месяц назад
Sunday November 10th, 2024 turned out to be one of those gloomy, wet, and 40 degree weather days. However the railroad doesn't care about weather, they run no matter what, and it just so happens that CSX and NS were gonna put on quite the show in the Central Ohio area. I didn't have the will to chase everything all over the place, so I settled down in Marion in hopes of catching the show.
The Heart of Buckeye Nation: The CSX Columbus Subdivision
Просмотров 164Месяц назад
In the flat and fertile farmlands of Central Ohio exists a small piece of railroad that has been completely forgotten about by the locals and is mostly ignored by local train enthusiasts. This is the Columbus Subdivision, a small piece of the giant CSX Transportations Huntington East Division. The line runs on a North by Northwest tangent, linking the cities of Columbus and Fostoria. Generally ...
2024 Fostoria Rail Festival Part II: After Hours Railfanning Till 3:00 AM feat. CSX 1967 and More

For the first time in a few years, I have decided to do some railfanning after hours for as long as I can stay awake. And what better place to do it than in a place that is known for its volume of trains, Fostoria Ohio. After all, I didn't want to get skunked, I wanted to see something.

Every year at the end of September, the city of Fostoria hosts an event known as rail fest. Rail fest includes a train show, a railfan hangout, and of course the cities famous train watching. I've been attending this show for several years, and this year was no different.

well is is a shame these engines never sucseeded they could have boosted emds statuts but with the 265h and 6000hp just way to much they sadly did nothing good
I would argue they should have just stuck with the SD80MAC. The SD80MAC despite consuming more fuel than the SD70 series worked as intended and the only real complaint was the lack of sound proofing in the cab. Progress Rail probably would still be in the locomotive market today if they decided not to pursue the SD90 project.
@@BuckeyeNationRailroader I agree the sd80macs were great rare thou and should have lasted longer but OH NO NOT AGAIN NORFOLK SOUTHERN
How come they didn’t like the RS5T or the old cast K5LA ?
The old RS5T wasn't owned by CSX, it was privately owned. Basically some internal corporate bickering lead to the owner of the horn taking it back.
Idk how this video hit Algorithm, odd
kinda odd, K5HL variant of some sort sounds like
Great night heritage catch and nice video
*Ayee nice it got a new horn!! Its a hybrid RL k5la now!!*
So it went from a regular k5la to a Hybrid RL k5la?
<3
Being that I like the EMD SD90MAC’s with the Phase I style cab, the Phase II style, I’m not really into it. The Phase I SD90MAC’s share the same/similar Cab Style to locomotives such as the SD60M’s (later production), SD60I’s, SD70M’s, SD70I’s, SD70MAC’s, SD75M’s, SD75I’s, & SD80MAC’s. What can I say, I like the Post Triclops pre Notched Nose style of EMD Wide Cab.
Nice catch of I008 I seen it with the B&O leading and 1852 trailing
Your president, elements of his government, major figures in the armed forces along with the security forces of israel carried this attrocity out on the American people, all of this time later and nobodies had the balls to do anything about it, which is why America is dying.
What. An. Idiot. I swear, some people's kids.
Dude, many latinamerica countries have a low GDP because they are small, what matter is the GDP per capita (which is still low). Wtf? 😂😂You are justifying the installement of dictatorships in latinamerica? What the US has to do is let those countries to developé and stop putting their nos es in.
Dude, the US supported the creation of Israel not Spain. Spain never estabilished relations with Israel until decades later.
So, from your point of view. The Aztecs and the incas who created empires, conquered other tribe, made human sacrifices and cannibalism with their enemies and were taken down by an army mainly composed by thier indigenous enemies and a minority of Spaniards, and whose descendants live nowadays because Spanish colonists mixed with them after the conquest creating the "mestizos" were "poor victims of a genocidal Spanish empire" but the north American indians who were nomad tribe far inferior technologically to the US whose land was occupied by colonists who had no intention in mixing with them and learning from their culture and who were locked down in "reserves" as animals were "aggresive indians against poor American colonists". OK I am done with it. You definetely are whitewashing US/British colonization while using the Black legend to talk bout Spain. Tomo many marvel movies.
Dude, not only Hernan Cortes did not make a genocide. He allied himself with other indigenous enemies of the Aztecs in order to take the down, in fact; his army was by far mainly composed of indigenous allies. Spaniards were a minority. Of course people died, it was a conquest but not a genocide, in fact there were more deaths due to the contagious illnesses that Europeans brought (accidentally) than to the war itself.
Pal, the middle east is in a bad situation mainly because of the british and the French. But also the Americans. May I remind you about the Irak war?
Bro the problem with Muslim immigration is the same than with other immigrants in the US. Though with the fact that many Muslims have very backward ideals about society, have a completely different culture and refuses to integrate and want to impose their islamic culture. Also, it's worht mentioning the assassinations, rapes etc. committed by many of them. Not saying that they are all bad, but that some of them have committed acts that make other Europeans to be afraid. Read before saying nonsense. Do you know what does this kind of immigration policies caused in Sweden or France? Even the army has been deployed to patrol the Streets. So in conclusion, we cannot receive such a big amount of immigrants from Africa or the middle east.
Dude you are discrediting yourself with the graphics. Do you know how to read? See how the GDP per capita grows far a ove the house in come which means there's a huge in quality in the US. Yet saying that corporation in general are paying enough to "get by" as if they were struggling to "exist". Ok, I can buy that a family enter prise or companies at local or city level can have difficulties, yet companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Starbucks etc.? Do you really think that they can't offer better working conditions and salaries? In which world do you live in? Also, "Automation" is not something every company can do. It depends on the company's bussiness.
The manifest with BNSF power on NS that you thought was 13Q is actually NS 15Q. NS 12Q goes to Elkhart on the Toledo District from Bellevue. NS 15Q goes on the Fostoria District from Bellevue to Brush Yard in Decatur. NS 270 is not on this line anymore. That train is NS 238. It basically follows former NS 270’s route from Landers Yard in Chicago to Rickenbacker in Columbus. Nice video btw! Saw most of those trains, but I accidentally deleted all of them. 😢
We must never forget!!!!!
I went out on this day! I saw the trains at 14:17 12:00 10:21 20:08 and 22:43, i live on this line and it’s such a surprise for what you may see, the trains out here can be wild sometimes, I also remember seeing you off the Griffith camera too

Saw myself at 27:44. Had a blast that day!

Hype for railfest!
Great stuff Mitch!! Will the Columbus sub video be up and running soon
@logandetwiler4483 Not for a LONG time. The video "The CSX Columbus Subdivision: The Heart of Buckeye Nation" is indefinitely on hold as I am trying to focus on school. The project has been taking a toll on me given how many times I've screwed up in the accuracy. If I ever decide to get around to it again you will see.
I was a Arcadia when you saw NS 303 coming by with NS 1069 leading. It was very cool to see. Nice video and catches!
We had no idea it was on this train. We all heard it went South to Marion and when it got here we were all shocked
god bless america
We will and shall never forget all those died and the heroes who died saving lives on that day.
May all the innocent souls that perished that day be with God.
I remember seeing this unfold as a senior in high school 🏫
We shall never forget the loss and the fallen. RIP to the people of the WTC, Pentagon, Flights 11, 77, 93, 175, FDNY, NYPD and PAPD.
I was only 14 now 37 a day I’ll never forget. I’ve got own children asking me where I was on this very day
To all those who’ve perished, from police officers, firefighters, civilians and the heroic efforts of those on United 93, may you all Rest in Peace 😢❤🇺🇸
I recently caught that glitch in dang story mode
1:24 Wrong Plane Crash. That Was National Airlines Flight 102. United 93's Horizontal Stabilizer Was Obliterated Beyond Recognition. The 757 Was Nothing But A Crater & Debris.
I think as soon as the second plane hit the twin towers they knew we were under attack and immediately felt unsafe everywhere no matter were you were so many people lost there lives that day including fireman police port authority officers and innocent workers and people taking a plane to there destination and sadly they never made it to there destination and tragically lost there lives I couldn’t imagine what was going through there minds when the planes were hijacked and crashed into three buildings and one hitting an open field may we never forget all the people who lost there’s lives so tragically and thanks to the fireman police and port authority officers who risked there lives trying to save others rip
El Gobierno de Los Estados Unidos de América sabía de todo esto fue un auto atentado.
I cannot imagine, what 1,000,000 metric tonnes of rubble looks like, its almost impossible to visualise what those people were faced with
I/we housed 4 people covered in ashes that night. My bestie/roommate worked for a firm that merges companies in the towers as a book keeper. He made it out and also brought his co-workers home. They all arrived covered in ashes as well. We had to house people overnight because they were from Staten Island. The ferry wasn't working. They all walked hours the opposite way headed uptown to the Bronx. All the time they were walking I thought they perished because all the phones were down. They showed up just before 4 pm. Imagine the scene when I opened the door to a small crowd of survivers and my best friend standing in front. The phones were working by then and I was on the phone with my mom and dad in Canada. I just dropped it and hugged him so hard. Everyone was pretty quiet that night. I ran back n forth making accommodations for a total of 6 (if you include myself n bestie/roomate) in a small 2 bedroom apartment. I recorded on a VHS tape everything on tv as it happened. I was glued to it praying my bestie was alive. I've never played that tape. Not once. It's in a hatbox. I watch a lot of video footage of that day here on YT though and always go down this rabbit hole. I know it tramatizes me more and I'm sure many of you even more than I, but it should never be forgotten and well.. it keeps me grounded. It reminds me to be thankful. It keeps the memories of the victims alive as well. I start watching and I can't stop even though tears fall the whole time. I'll never forget.. Never. R.I.E.P. to all the victims and my many thoughts are with all of their loved ones. My heart is with all of you. Always.
The people on the planes knew they had been hijacked, they called air traffic control and it just seemed like no one believed them , Betty ong was trying to explain that the hijackers had got into the cockpit and people had been stabbed, air traffic control didn't send out their planes until 4 minutes after this happened! They heard the voices of the terrorists and they still didn't really twig as to what was going on ! I want to thank America for your outstanding bravery in this situation, you all came together in a very terrifying situation, thank you to all those who tried to save as many people as you could ❤
Awesome oil train!
was any of this footage enhanced or altered? some seems much more vivid and unseen before
Nice video! Equipment from US Army 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division from Fort Drum, NY returning from the Joint Readiness Training Center (Training) Rotation 24-07 @ Fort Johnson, LA.
Is this a seasonal thing they do? Cause I believe there were 6 trains between Fort Drum and Fort Johnson
@@BuckeyeNationRailroader Its a scheduled training regiment preparing a unit (1st BCT here) for possible future deployment. JRTC is typically used by Active Army Infantry Brigades plus Reserve & National Guard units. It's not annual though, active units like Fort Drum's are based (Or used to be I think they've changed it some in last 2 years) on a 1/3 schedule 1 year deployed, to 3 years non deployed. Year 1 = reset (Returning from deployment, R&R, regular training schedule.) Year 2 = JRTC or NTC (National Training Center in CA) to prepare for a specific mission, train ready to deploy. Year 3 = Available to deploy (This doesn't guarantee a deployment but its likely). A Infantry Brigade Team like Fort Drum's 10th Mountain Division has can take from 3-6 trains to move depending if its a full Brigade moved or not. Fort Drum has 3 Infantry Brigade Combat Teams plus a Combat Aviation Brigade & Sustainment Brigade. The later 2 of which can deploy with one of their own Brigades or on their own to support other units. This is why at times there can be a bunch of military trains in a specific time or why you'll tend to see moves every few months. JRTC rotations usually will see the trains carrying them to the exercise and returning about 4-6 weeks apart depending on a bunch of factors.
Nice
Over by Deshler just west of there, we actually had A Train during totality.
I know. I was p!ssed at that cause I was initially going to go to Deshler.

I was 18 when this happened. I remember getting home from work and seeing my parents watching this on the news here in the UK. We first thought it was a horrible accident until we watched the second plane hit the other tower. This was by far the hardest thing I’ve ever seen. There’s no real way to be able to process what you were witnessing. All you could think of was all those people stuck in those towers, in fear for their lives and desperate to escape. I had only returned from a trip to the USA a few months before this happened. Just such a horrific tragedy. RIP to all those who lost their lives to those monsters
