So many people are out here on the internet talking about their data experiences at FAANG companies.
Like "How to get a FAANG job?" or "Day in the life at a FAANG Company" or "What I Learn at FAANG".. "What I Didn't Learn At FAANG".....
But most data work doesn't happen at FAANG companies.
Here's the story of my non-FAANG data career.

Hey Sol! Great response and I have to say, I’m impressed by how levelheadedly you delivered it. As a former investment banker, the idea of someone in finance complaining about long hours is absurd. And as someone who has employed data analysts, I think your point about comp levels and expectations is spot on. This isn’t someone at a factory getting told at the last second that they have to work an extra shift, possibly costing them more in childcare than they will make. Honestly I’m strongly in favor of employee rights, and I am so aghast at this story that I can’t even finish this post. How ridiculous to take a job at a hedge fund and then complain about having to work ONCE until midnight. Great response, Sol.
