What are the clips called that fasten to the framing and are embedded into the mortar (they keep the bricks fastened to the house)?

They’re called brick ties or brick wall ties. You can get them anywhere that bricks are sold.

Thats was really funny. Between 5:30 - 5:40mins you were talking about how important it is that the timber is straight, but you filmed it with a fisheye lense, so the timber in the background you were talking about was as bent as a bananna😂

If you use a Richards rafter tables.. It is easier there is no shorting Using that book you would look of the span of the common deduct the with of the ridge from the span for instance say the span is 24' and an 1 1/2'' ridge you would look up 23' 10'' and 1/2 under common rafter . Now if you have a hip or valley Use th e common span of 23' 10'' and 1/2 look under hip or valley and that will give you the exact length of the hip or valley no shorting The hip and valley are exactly the same length

Very nice content in this video, this by far is one of the most detail version of roof framing I've seen in English ... I was wondering if you would be interested in doing more roofing videos if I share a site with you... The site has quite a few detail videos but are in Spanish, which I don't understand, so my point is if someone who has the knowledge could convert the videos to English... Please get back with me and I'll share the site with you. Thanks

Thank you for your long winded (without answering to my statement: I'm sure that's the only mistake you've ever made) reply about me asking you not to call a Makita a Skil. Please also don't call any other saw a Skil; I have Rigid tools; Sears' tool ; Mastercraft tools and many others; right now the only circular saw i have is a Black and Decker.😊

Once the water gets in, it needs to air dry out. IMO, it's good to caulk outside, but not in the back. The wall in my place is rotted I think because the back wall caulk traps the moisture in.

Nice! Great video! I'm looking at salvaging a bunch of brick laying around here on the East Coast in SC. Except most of it is cement mortar... and it looks like that might just be what you were chipping away at with the hammer. Not sure if I want to invest in one of those bad boys, but I figure if I use a chisel and hammer, it'll take ages. Hmmm... Trying to find free brick I can cut veneers out of to face my foundations.

I just found your Channel and I am a finish carpenter. I am thinking you all are just really nice ppl? I am looking at those miters behind you and I see huge gaps? Plus I hv done a fair bit of craftsman trim you can do it very budget friendly ! You ever want to rip that out I can explain how ! Anyway I love Wyoming and I wish I was close I would hv helped you out! Tell your contractor to fix those miters ! With 1/4” reveals ! Set them with Biscuits or Dominos that way in high humidity or huge variations in temp they will not separate ! Very nice house !

We got 2 hoa violations of having concrete sealer on sidewalk. Been on sidewalk 25 yrs when original Hoa approval was given. Now new hoa says sealer unsafe & safety hazard-must be removed. 🙄 -Tried pro pressure cleaning -Paint thinner -acid wash/scrub. Got quotes for sandblasting & grinding & all companies quoted $1500+ to remove sealer from sidewalk only. Gonna give your method a try. Praying it works! 🙏🏻
