​@@jus_russFor me the term "fanservice" can only be applied correctly if the intent of the creator of the media was to specifically sell something exclusively to fans who like the content of the game, so people that complain about fanservice for example are kinda nonsensical since what's being sold is not towards people who don't like it, in the case of STELLAR BLADE we could say that EVE is not inherently fanservice because the creator isn't necessarily selling all things related to the character neither the character itself, all Nano Suits EVE has can be acquired for free by just playing the game and her being sexy is simply a natural artistic choice rather than her being some gacha skin you'd buy or some random skin/character in a game, just being sexy or heavily sensual can't be categorized as "fanservice", it depends on what's being done specifically.

For example STELLAR BLADE vs Snowbreak and Azur Lane, Snowbreak and Azur Lane are gacha games focused on pure fanservice, there's specific skins you pull for or buy which the sole purpose is to be sensual, you have sensual interactions, camera angles made specifically for that as in a whole specific scenario to appeal to players who like it, and I don't think that's a bad thing at all, but it's certainly the opposite of what happens in STELLAR BLADE which barely has any real fanservice, the only fanservice in STELLAR BLADE would be very brief and short camera angles, certain interactions when opening boxes, or checking the background, but nothing too straightforward as a whole scenario that was made for you, you can just do it occasionally while commanding EVE if you choose to, most things are optional and not the kind of sold fanservice, you can leave her with reserved clothes instead of revealing ones, it has clothes for every kind of taste, in just pure fanservice games you tend to have just revealing ones.

@@BeccaVinesz And I mention that in the video lol. I don't really disagree with you in Stellar Blade's case. Again, "intent" is the key word, which is something we may never truly know. Yes, everything in relation to the suits and sexuality is free, there's an argument that all that helps sell the game itself. Not saying that's case, but I can see that viewpoint as well.

I think the gender swap is more of a comparison for Bayonetta lol. Aside from being stylish, I don’t feel this and DMC share all that much at all, from my experience.

The soundtrack of STELLAR BLADE is cohesive, it's just more diverse than some others. No video game has a soundtrack exactly like STELLAR BLADE, how it "loses" identity when Silent Street is one of the most unique songs that defines this game, not even in most sci-fi games out there you'll rarely hear a song with that type of arrangement.

@@BeccaVinesz Having a wide variety of music doesn't make something cohesive at all. There are only two tracks that seem to use the same motiff. One is used early on, while the second one is used in the Elder Naytiba fight. You can tell they're dumping as many sounds as humanly possible when there are more credits for music composition than the battle programming team has. And that's fine, it just doesn't have a defining sound, although that's arguable if you listen attentively to the entire thing. I will say though, that now that I'm close to platinum the game, many of these tracks have stuck and I can remember them, but I'm on my third playthrough. The music is catchy and full of soul, but it sticks with you by repetition and not because it truly is memorable in most cases with some exceptions (looking at you, Abaddon, Democrawler, Everglow and Stellar Dream tracks).

@jmacosta The thing is it has a defining sound, and the motiff is used in many others, maybe you should listen more carefully.

You can have thousand of songs with the same lazy generic POP structure that uses the same 4 chord progression every single time, all these songs being cohesive means nothing when they are all lazy bad songs, do you think I would prefer listening to a game that has cohesive songs where most of them sounds like every Ariana Grande copy song or I'd listen to STELLAR BLADE that has Silent Street, way more unique dynamic that remembers POP style, but sounds intrinsic of STELLAR BLADE mixed with a classical rich structure of chords? Or the Metal sound like in Stalker's theme that is one of the most badass and old-school type of boss song, the pure classical style found in the Elder Naytiba or Adam's themes, the jazzy sound of some of the construction zones, the acoustic sound of the Desert which perfectly fits the area of the game and makes a relaxing yet melancholic journey, lmao the soundtrack of STELLAR BLADE tells a whole journey and the songs are not only varied, but most of them are good and would also be considered good or unique by a classical standard, it has tracks that can sit side by side with games like Castlevania and Shadow of the Colossus, meanwhile most games nowadays have composers making mid to extremely bad songs compared to years before. Btw playing games like NIKKE and STELLAR BLADE over nowadays generic music I'll choose the NIKKE type of cohesion with inconsistent songs everyday, I care more about quality than simply specified quantity or superficial cohesion.

STELLAR BLADE isn't necessarily a serious game, it's a fun game, for people who want to have fun.

I like them too. But they typically haven’t been enough to pull me away from something else personally 🤷🏾‍♂️

Or I would love to see a continuation of the story book games by giving Sonic some dmc combat like in frontiers. Although I wouldn’t want it to be like the werehog combat and try to make it focused on his speed.

@jus_russ to me, I think replayability factor and overall fun is a factor and that alone makes it worth it for me, I've already put in over 100 hours trying to time attack the game and that's definitely made it worth my money (and I got the deluxe edition at 60)
