    Wow - Yeah, back in late 60s featured Lou DuMoulin (sp?) on the organ accompanying silents on the weekends - would come on in sparkling red jacket intent on using whatever the organ had to offer (whistles, gongs, sirens, whatever) - with his head and upper body movements reflecting the dynamics of the accompaniment. The venue also featured special guests - like Bob Ralston (from The Lawrence Welk Show) and Korla Pandit. For me, as one then discovering the wonders of 8mm prints from Blackhawk Films, the experience of being part of a sizable audience enjoying these classics (especially the two-reel comedies) was life-changing. Thanks for this.

      Glad it brings back fond memories. My brother Doug(R.I.P) was friends with Lou. He used to take me with him to see the shows. Later I would take my girlfriend. I remember Korla Pandit also. It was quite a show!

    how many watts is the lamp?

    • @Chris-qc4hb
      @Chris-qc4hb 4 месяца назад

      It would be around 1k depending on the volt and amp draw and carbon size. Thanks for the question.

    We had one of those in the projection booth of our high school auditorium. I was in AV and loved running it. It sure put on a great show! That was in the early 70s. I think it was installed in 1955.

    How Kool. Not bad sound. How many wire recorders and players such as that are left? Where did you find one in such condition?

    • @Chris-qc4hb
      @Chris-qc4hb 4 месяца назад

      I don't know how much of this equipment is left. I imagine very few in operable condition. The sound can be quite good if restored properly. The restoration was done by my brother Doug who passed away in 2021. Thank you.
