Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine is based upon the principle that the human body possesses self-healing/self-regulating mechanisms that are the source of true healing. Osteopathic physicians understand how all the body’s systems are interconnected and how each one affects the others. This special training in the neuromusculoskeletal system allows me to better understand how that system influences the condition of all other body systems. Being able to identify conditions and treat them using osteopathic manipulative treatment encourages the body's natural tendency toward health and self-healing. The focus in treatment, therefore, goes beyond simple spinal alignment, to dealing directly with the abnormal body physiology using an array of direct and indirect techniques. I work along with you as the referring physician on how to manage the patient.

Didn’t appear on my grandson until three months after birth. His mother complains about him all the time. She’s been screaming about having a baby for seven years, she’s 26 years old, and I think she just realize she didn’t really want to baby. One of the saddest situation I’ve ever been in. You’re so grateful the baby is born, healthy and perfect, only to find out he was neglected, and left in the crib, without attention, and now has a misshapen skull that will probably lead to developmental issues. And I say developmental issues because clearly he’s not going to get the stimulus he needs. However, he does get shown off to everybody at the mall, at parties, and family get together’s. He’s a little trophy. His mother… Look what I did. I had a baby!!! makes me sick

Can my 3 month old's head still be improved of he is still sleeping on his back? He no longer keeps his head in the one spot that flattened, but we haven't seen any improvement.

@@locampo461 my baby's head shape is getting better but improvements take a lot of time but I did get better if you try ur best! My baby is 4 months old now and I'm doing counter pressure, repositioning, tummy time, stretches, suture rubbing and gentle head massage.
His head looks a lot better. We started belly sleeping him and we saw significant improvement from about 4-6 months without a helmet. He also figured out rolling from back to belly and instead of using tummy time that became his preferred way of being. We did have his head measured for a helmet around 6 months old after the ideal period to get a helmet and he was still measuring as just into the moderate zone so they recommended a helmet, but they admitted that he didn't need physical therapy at all so the root issue (torticolis?) had been resolved. My husband was really opposed to getting him a helmet so we never did. We still see the flatness and we still worry, but friends and family that we trust all say they don't notice it anymore. One family member even complimented his nice round head.

Do you have your own private practice? I am 2 semesters away from graduating with my degree in nutrition and dietetics and have done medical school prerequisites when I can.
