I've done the same thing. It happens sometimes😂 If full adults go into stores and grab drinks and open food and leave it on the shelves afterwards, whats the issue with me giving my kid a snack while he sits in the cart and I shop and I just pay for it at checkout. Or I might already have a snack and give it to him while we shop. Its not every time, but when they're little like that and they're hungry, it's understandable.

It's better to bring a snack from home. Bc things can happen. Card machines go down all the time. What if you only had cash? Or what if something went wrong and your card declined? It's happened to me with plenty money to cover my purchases and turns out the bank app was experiencing trouble with POS systems. Plus it is stealing until it's paid for. If you're out of snacks to bring from home then go in grab your snack, go checkout and keep your receipt then continue your shopping. Trust me, I'd rather you do the above mentioned than hear a screaming toddler pitching a tantrum the WHOLE time I'm shopping.

This is so sad my daughter's autistic and the only way that I can go shopping for what I need to take care of my family is to give her snacks in the cart and that doesn't even work sometimes as long as you are paying for the stuff that she is eating you are not stealing

Ok but what happens when your card declines and you can't pay for the food you already opened? Or you don't have enough cash to cover it? Until you pay for them, those snacks legally don't belong to you. Committing theft and posting it online is certainly a look. Please reconsider giving your child snacks that you havent paid for. Bring snacks from home, or buy snacks first and then do the rest of your shopping, but don't just take something off the shelf and give it to your kid.
