@@Margriet811 Thank you! I think the real credit goes to Evan Bradley, that perfectly transcribed the entire song within hours. I've been playing technically challenging songs for several years now, so learning new riffs (and specifically John Petrucci, whose songs and approach I've become very familiar with) can be performed relatively quickly. I actually had the entire thing done two days after the release, but took some time to capture it on video and upload it to RUclips :) Thanks again for your compliments!

Thanks man! I've been playing around 10 years now, albeit not much in the last year unfortunately. I started with no experience or lessons at all, by trying to play the beautiful intro for Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah. I used RUclips videos to learn some of the basics about guitar, and used very simple tabs to learn some early pieces (you can look at some of the first videos on this channel, dating back to 2014). Once I've played the intro successfully, I began practicing playing other pieces with increasing difficulty. I always advise new guitarists to find their passion within the music world- you won't sit down to play 12 straight hours on your guitar, if you won't have an inherent drive to perform what you're doing. You shouldn't force yourself to practice, but you want it to happen naturally. I actually sympathize with Guthrie Govan's attitude towards playing, which reminded me of my own- I never purposefully practiced with metronomes, but rather, just played what I liked to hear, over and over again, slowly and correctly. Make each note count. Good luck!

@@raoyen its awesome your covers, style i saw video of reverie ending and now imma learn it now good to see tut cuz am playing 2 months and its hard to break through all those different techniques or just learn it by ear which seems to be impossible for now

@@Xsy. These are really complicated pieces to play after 2 months. I'd consider starting with simpler pieces beforehand - you don't want to sloppily play a complex piece just for the sake of playing it. It is much more beneficial for you to learn pieces with progressive difficulty rather than taking your shot at the extremes right from the beginning. It will also discourage you and hurt your motivation when you fail, because you'll put your skills to the test of unreasonable expectations at this stage with your current technical ability. If you want to play Polyphia, there are multiple riffs in 'Crush' which are simple enough but still rock!

Yeah it’s a lot of sixths and double stops I’d honestly just recommend noodling around in that sort of style for a bit then coming back to it
