Some ideas about how to create more storage and/or make the spaces in your place feel a bit bigger. Some of these are little, easy fixes and others are things to think about if you are re-doing a bathroom or kitchen.

How to remove grout using a multi tool and hand-held grout saw

If you have to remove a lot of grout, this video might help. I had to do 2 rooms, which was about 300 square feet. For a smaller job, you can get away with just the hand-held grout saw and/or the triangular grout remover. Also, consider using a dust mask if you are making too much dust. Good luck!
Microwave trips breaker even after you've checked and/or repaired switches

If your microwave is tripping the breaker when you open the door to interrupt cooking, you should first test and/or repair or replace your switches. However, if you've done that (switches are not the issue), and the problem persists, you can try this to see if it's the issue. Also, after making this video, I ordered a new latch and latch spring for about 15 bucks. That's the hook part that move...

This fixed the problem with the breaker tripping, but the magnetron is running while the door is closed. I had already replaced all the doors switches. Any idea why the magnetron would still run?
Yeah, I was able to keep it running when I put too much duct tape on the latch. Basically, play around with the spacing there. If I remember right, when I put too much duct tape on the latch, that would happen. Either way, down the line I would suggest just getting a new latch to see if that fixes the problem permanently.

Mines is tripping only when plug in GFCI outlet but works fine plugged in regular outlet
On my daughters when you shut the door there is a upper and lower ramp that the door hooks slide up on. Her problem was at the top of the ramp the latches have worn grooves at the top causing the hooks to rest a little lower causing them to not engage the bottom switch. I ordered that part from amazon. Fixed.
Thanks. I just removed the middle of the three switches- the monitor switch. Problem also solved. That is assuming one has three switches

It's much harder on your tool's motor if you don't use a sufficient speed while causing the motor get to where it get jammed and stops every second. Turn up the speed a few numbers. I won't hurt at all.
Something that you should have mentioned.. if fixing with duct tape, don't tell your wife and hope she doesn't see it. The minute she sees this fix she will be ordering a new microwave, at least in my household. (LOL)

Thank you so much for the video. I finally fixed it by adding tape on the hook. I changed all the three switches just to see if thats the problem but It wasnt, now I know why it kept tripping the breaker
Fixing mine putting a extra layer on the hooks they don't make good contact with switches.
Another possibility, which was the case for me: The plastic bracket that holds the three switches can be worn where the door latches hook over a plastic lip. I was able to source that bracket direct from sears for about $20 and that fixed mine.

Just tried this on my microwave, and bingo. I replaced all three door switches prior. Ordering parts today! I noticed my upper ramp is really worn down. Pulled on top 5 times, no trip. First time I pulled towards bottom, sure enough the breaker tripped thanks for sharing.
so my switches all test as working correctly and i still have the issue with he bleaker tripping with the door closed. it runs for 3 o-5 seconds and then trips the breaker. i pulled all the switches they arent gummed up. your best guess is the door latch isnt pressing down all 3 switches? update: i duct taped down the buttons on all 3 switches so i know they were firmly pressed in and it still does the same thing. not a door switch issue in my case
Bummer, I’m not sure what that is. If it’s running for a bit and then trips the breaker, that sounds like a completely different issue. Power surge or some other issue. Good luck, hope you figure it out.
This. I had the very same problem. In fact, after a day or so of this. It stopped working all together. That is, when the magnetron turned on it tripped the breaker every time. So I think what happened was, after shorting all the power to ground so often, the extra power actually welded the switch closed. So we replaced that switch. But it still tripped the breaker every time we try to open the door during cooking. And it happened again that it welded the switch closed. I didn't know this until the second time it happened. Now I have replaced the switch for a second time. And I also followed this guy's advice about the duct tape on the bottom hook. Plus I found a guy who said that if you could angle the bracket backwards at the top so that the switch connection always breaks at the top first that that would help as well. So I did both of these, and now the microwave works like it was intended.
make sure the bracket is not loose. maybe the screws have come lose?

There is a good reason that all microwaves have a STOP/CANCEL button. Always press STOP before opening any microwave door. These door switch problems are far less likely to occur when you operate the microwave as it was designed.
My microwave manual explicitly says to open the door to stop the cooking, particularly when you want to check the food mid-cooking without having to reset the cook time. So it was designed to open the door to be one way to interrupt the cooking.
@@MrWolfetune It's the equivalent of yanking a plug. And as you've proven with your video, damage can occur from this operation. Particularly with microwave hoods, opening the door while running is the most common cause of microwave failure.
@@shawnp8878 , my microwave tripped the breaker because the latch wore down. Opening the door, for any reason, will eventually wear down the latch and/or the housing the the switches sit in. That is why a new latch fixed the problem (after the temporary fix of duct tape). So my video did not prove what you are saying, not at all. Did you watch the video? Seems like maybe you didn't. Yes, it's probably true that using the pause/cancel/stop button is the slightly better option and will cause less wear on the switches, but the microwave is designed to deal with opening the door while cooking. Thus the explicit instructions in the manual to open the door to check the food and then close the door and hit "resume" to continue cooking. But hey, you do you man. Sounds like the Pause/Stop button is a great option for you.
@@MrWolfetune My initial comment was intended to be general advice and not directed specifically towards you. You're clearly put off but I've had no ill intentions. I'd also recommend not following the owner's manual to self clean your oven if it's an option. You can ask another professional and they'll tell you the same.
i think the issue is most people and definitely kids slam the door shut. i did this many years ago so much i broke off 1 of the door latches
Man!!! wish I would have found your video first...that was the exact same problem mine had!! Was going crazy swapping switches, testing continuety, pretty much going crazy. Then I run into your video. I was like...."what the hell, won't hurt to check my door latches, it free". checked them and the top for me was off. Like it was wore down more than the bottom...measured it, added about two layers of black duck tape. and WalAH! fucker is working like new again.....Thanks a million....LIKE THIS VIDEO!

Mine started to do the same thing and I found out it was due to the top door hinge starting to get some slop in it so it wasnt opening the door evenly anymore.. It looks like I have the same microwave you have too..
That makes sense and could definitely be another reason that the breaker keeps tripping.

That's the ticket!! works great now,i tested your solution first with electric tape and once i got it to work now i will replace the tape with 2 layers of shrink tubing . It looked in the video that the door latches on your microwave were steel? Mine are plastic and must have gotten flexed over time, once i slowly opened the door i could hear the switch clicking at the bottom. Thanks again....
My latches are plastic as well. I ordered a new set and it totally fixed the problem. But the shrink wrap tubing is a great idea! Glad the video helped.

This worked on my microwave. Vince, how long does the duct tape fix last? Is there a more permanent fix ?
Hi Jay. Yeah, most likely the issue is your latch. Depending on your model, you can either get your latch on Amazon or from a company that sells parts. The latch is most likely only 5 to 10 bucks. It’s fairly easy to replace, and there are several videos out there about to do it. There’s a chance that the issue is with the actual housing that the latch fits into. This part is more like 20 bucks most likely. If you were able to start with replacing just the latch, I would do that. But if you have to pay a bunch for shipping you might just order both the latch and the housing at the same time and replace both.
Oh, and while you are at it, get a new latch spring as well, it’s probably only 2-3 bucks and can be replaced while replacing the latch.
I was driving myself nuts with my Frigidaire Gallery microwave. The middle switch (normally closed) was blown and tripping the breaker at random times. Once fixed the breaker blew again and the new switch blew again. I upgraded the switch and now just the breaker would trip opening the door only. No videos led me anywhere and even an appliance repair tech swore it was the switches. So glad I found this. Who would have thought milliseconds mattered and black duct tape would be the fix. Lol.
Lol, exactly, seems like the timing issue would be prevalent and there would be more videos and chats about it. FYI, I ordered a new latch for 12 bucks and it fixed the problem on mine.
@@MrWolfetune the latch meaning on the door with the two hooks, or the latch receiving assembly on the microwave side that holds the micro switches? The reason I ask is it seem both sides of mine were worn a little.
@@andrewchatel1656 Just the hooks part. I also replaced the spring while I had the door pane open (the spring was like $4). I also ordered the latch-receiving assembly because mine is worn as well. I will probably switch it out one of these days. But just replacing the hooks did the trick for now. There are some videos about how to do that, it was pretty easy and straight-forward.
I think what happens is when the break trips from the switch it’s basically burns the inside of the switch in the close position I just replaced the switch and tested to see if the break trip would if I opened the door while it was cooking (which it did) and the new switch was stuck in the close position I opened the switch and saw some burn marks and it was stuck in the close position
