Fiber Chronicles

Fiber Chronicles is about my journey through the fiber arts. I have been knitting, crocheting, embroidering, and sewing most of my life. I love creating and learning new skills.
In my mid-thirties I set aside crafting and went back to college to become a special education teacher. I loved working with students, particularly those with autism and cognitive disabilities. After a disappointingly short eight years of teaching, I developed a seizure disorder and was no longer able to teach.
With a sudden boost in free time and nothing to work towards, I needed a new goal in life. I revisited crafting and grew to love it again.
I use the fiber arts as a therapeutic way to discover myself and combat my disability. I create RUclips videos to share my journey and my discoveries with the world. I also create project bags, stitch markers, and jewelry to sell in my shop to aid me in funding my journey through the fiber arts.

Book Review - Increase Decrease by Judith Durant
Thank you for the tutorial. I am a novice knitter and I need to frog back several rows.
I'm having a hard time understanding this
I have this book and was hoping you could explain how to use it. I can see what’s on each page but can’t figure out how to apply it. I’m not a beginner. I’ve been knitting for years but usually read someone else’s pattern. I want to have a basic pattern that I can use different stitches on. I’m still so confused.
I cannot thank you enough!
Thank you SO much for this terrific book review! It's nice to get the in-depth look at all the sections, really helps with a buying decision. Sharing your pros and cons about the book was also extremely helpful.
Love it😎 Thank you for sharing 🎉 Broken Yarn or not...😂
At last! A method I've managed! I watched videos casting on with knitting but couldn't get around it with my left handedness. I tried it the way you were doing which you explained beautifully but got into tension problems. Too loose. So I thought I will try it left handed and it worked! Thank you so much! 😀
It would be so very helpful to have video instruction of a few of these and how they are applicable in a knit pattern. Ie practical application for the average knitter like myself.
Maybe because it's made in China Maybe try like a sweater made in Ireland
after committing that much time of your life into a Sweater You're in way to Deep You have no choice now you must finish
That is horrible
My mate just asked me what i want for my birthday so i told her this has been on my wish list for some time. It’s £14 on eBay, which isn’t too greedy to ask for, right? Plus, she’ll be getting some top notch gifts herself with the help of this book! So winner winner chicken dinner.
Definitely not too greedy. I keep mine close by and use it regularly.
congrats, fiber chronicles!
congrats on winning
I'm a beginner knitter lol
I love fiber chronicles I hope you do too!
Great, it s so easy the way you explain thank you
Thank you so much, it’s exactly what I was looking for! Is it contain standard body measurement chart as well?
Actually, it requires YOU to measure your own body (chart shows how) for measurements... nothing standard (like as if Yarn Craft Council suggested)
Hi Bonnie thank you for this information I've been having great difficulty with this particular problem and I will certainly be using this method in future, but I have one question, would this work to change colours in the round without making a jog in the colour change? Thanks again for showing us your videos btw I've just subscribed to your channel best regards carol
How I do a color change would depend on the stitch pattern I am using. For this market bag, I think I would do it differently. Instead of ending the round with a chain 1, slip stitch into beginning chain, I would end the round with a single crochet into the third chain stitch of beginning chain, changing colors with the last pulling yarn through of that single crochet, then slip stitch over the single crochet and begin the next round as instructed (chain 4). If this is unclear or you are wondering about a different stitch pattern, feel free to email me. I will do my best to help you.
Nice videos. I think that you should take a look at zmsocial [.] com! It’s the fastest way to promote your videos!
Thank you for sharing this review
You're welcome.
Beautiful sweater 💙 and congrats to the steeking! 😊
Thank you. Ellie loves wearing it, too.
Ohhh, that little bat is so cute :))
I love this episode with your beautiful daughter 💖 How amazing to have a crafty girl at home 😊
Thank you. I do like having her around. She can be really awesome.
I love to see your happy face :) Yes I did knit my shawl with this yarn and any shawl will be amazing I love mine. The single structure is so soft and nice but the silk helps to keep the fiber intakt ... in my opinion. I got a lovely size knitting Large size with this fingering weight yarn... just bare in mind I used a contrast colour yarn (light pink) for the cast on and until the lace section starts it gives really really nice effect. Smaller tags you can also use like a progress keepers too I forgot to put in but if you have those bolbs safety pins :) It is so nice to see recipient of my gifts
I do have the pattern now and can’t wait to cast it on!
<3
congrats to the winner!!!

My favorite is roses and tulips. good luck to everyone
Favorite flower is the red rose for everything it stands for. Can't wait to check out the new site!
My favorite flower is the star gazer lily! I saw that someone else also loves that flower! I also quite like succulent plants. They aren't really "flowers" but I think they are super sweet.
The succulent flowers are often beautiful also. They can be quite unique as well.
My favorite flower is the star gazer Lily. The shawl is Super lovely. Look forward to checking out your website. Congratulations opening your own site.
Thank you. Star gazer lilies are lovely.
Those are my favorites too!
My favorite flower is red rose. This shawl pattern with the stitch markers would be amazing gift for my wife :-)
My favorite flower is lilac. I love the scent. The shawl is beautiful.
Thank you. Lilacs are beautiful. I like that they can be found in a nice gradient of colors from white to dark purple.
My favorite flower is the tulip 🌷. When I see them bloom I know spring has sprung! The shawl you made is absolutely beautiful. Shawls and hats are my favorite things to knit, this would be a wonderful project for me. 🙏
It is a lovely shawl to knit. Barbara was inspired by tulips when she designed it, so it is a good shawl for you.
the shawl is so beautiful. my favorite flower is wax flower.
I had to look that one up. It is a beautiful flower.
I just love roses. .all colors and varieties. Thanks for the giveaway.
Hi crafty lou, Roses are one of my favorite flowers also.
My favorite kind of flower is the Gerber Daisy.
Ooh! Daisies are so lovely in their simplicity. I love them in a field of wild flowers.
Such beautiful items! Great color choices on the shawl and cardigan! My favorite flower at the moment is a carnation. 😊
I like carnations also, especially when they are mixed in with other flowers.
I completely agree! Love mixed flower bouquets. :)
Hi Bonnie! Your shawl is so beautiful and I would knit this for my mom! Lovely stitchmarkers! My favorite flower is red tulip 🌷Thank you for the giveaway, I hope it is open worldwide (I am from Hungary, Europe) Happy knitting for your cardigan! Anna
Red tulips are very lovely. Barbara was inspired to design the shawl after visiting a tulip festival, so your flower choice is very appropriate. :)
Thank you so much my heart sang when I watched your Wild Bloom FO section 💕😊🌻
I do love the shawl. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to test knit for you.
I love your test knit shawl. It's such a pleasure to knit. I can't wait to knit my next one. Heather
Thank you. I am just waiting on the yarn so I can make another one. It should be here by the end of the week.
make a lacey shawl or scarf
Just found your channel and subscribed and liked
Thank you. I am glad to have you joining me.
Your right that looks supper easy.
Beautiful craft 👌
Do the socks! They are something different, new, and not overly complicated. They would be a nice contrast to the more complicated colorwork steeked sweater and having the KAL will encourage you to finish them.
Thank you for your suggestion, Kristine. I think I might do that.
