Sounds great! Good meeting at LAX!
Zamn!
It's called "KID INSIDE" by Craig Carnelia
Wonderful
Dolores, this is Cyd Summers... and this is lovely! :-)
You're one of the all-time greats in my book!
Perfection.
Fabulous!
Thank you SO much for posting this video of my dear friend Chris, who I'm missing terribly today. This is the first time I've seen his face in anything other than a photo and it made my heart ache with longing to hug and laugh with him again. I wish there were more but I'll just watch this over and over and over again. Watching it makes my heart want to explode with love for him.
Brilliant Musical Comedian! I first heard Ms Benson at the former Nyc cabaret: Eighty Eights.
Always loved Gayiel. We met at the Rose Tattoo in West Hollywood. Wonderful singer.
fobesq she passed away December 2016.
<3
Always been my favorite song to hear her sing. <3
It is such a pleasure nice to hear this pure, strong voice again. Perfect Pitch. Jen Hasty, I miss your singing.
Very nice--but the title of the song is "Goodbye".
who wrote this song?
Jessie Cassin It's most associated with Benny Goodman, but written by Gordon Jenkins, the same guy who wrote "P.S. I Love You".
@@Bobbybabybobbybubbie thank you
Awesome performance by Chris Sena, even if just for 15 seconds. so great to have this memory of him.
Very cool. Very nice. My cousin Paul turned me on to you, so that must make us cousins as well!
I just love you singing this song! I think the first time I heard it you did it!!!
I'm not sure why I like Ms Maggart so much. She's a very good singer, and she sings all the kinds of songs I like. Do you think that's why?
I understand Gordon Jenkins wrote the song as a dedication to his wife after her untimely death, and he called it Goodbye" His sorrow is elegantly displayed in the music and the words
i should totally cover this one...a beauty it is!
Ditto about the sax player. But if he's there, it's because he was invited. And live performance can sound very different. Seems like the camera and sound are set up right next to him. I've heard this song live only once and I've been trying to find a similar version on RUclips but no-can-do ... this is close as it gets. I really enjoy her version, her interpretation of the song ... I just personally prefer it in a low alto voice.
To me you are correct, because the sax player is holding out long notes against the singer's long notes, too much of the time. And sometimes he's using her same note and they don't quite agree on the pitch. Yet, at the end of the clip, she's complimenting him and approaching him to work a session for her, so she liked him a lot !!!! If she felt he was supportive, good !
I love this song so much and have never heard it sung with such intensity and emotion - I'm crying for the beauty and honesty of the performance. Thank you for posting this.
Paul, I love how tender and wise you are in this song.... don't be afraid of the power of your voice... you have it even in the quiet stuff.. just let us see your heart even more than you already did. . .
wonderful voice, marvelous interpretation !
I will be in touch. Yours is the kind of talent that can't be manufactured. It clearly comes from the heart. Many singers devote their lifetimes trying to get feeling to emerge when they sing and never get beyond the acting stage. The feelings is in their head but they can never get it to reach out and touch the listener. A precious few truly live the song. You are one of them.
nice performance from the singer buyt the saxguy is a bit annoying. He should wait his turn and not be too eager. He will get his big chance to play his solo if he takes it when the moment is there.I think he's slightly out of tune too. Does anybody agree with that? or am i being overly critical??
I love the intros of songs from the thirties and forties...wonderful lines and melodies...and just the beginning. Check out How Are Things In Guacamora...beginning melody is wonderful...
I've never heard this song done at such a slow meter. The most famous recording, by Chris Connor, is up tempo and I think most singers have modeled their versions after hers. Mary Jo Mundy's interpretation is wholly her own. And what a singer! Beautiful tone, beautiful intonation, beautiful pronunciation, wonderful range and total storytelling values with a 100 percent commitment to the lyrics. Mary Jo, I never knew of you before this minute. How have I missed you? You are marvelous!
Benny boy! Good to see you joined the youtube universe! keep on rockin guys!
What a glorious gift this song is to the world of romance...and so beautifully song and shared by such a gifted, loving spirit, Mary Jo Mundy. I'm in awe everytime I hear you sing it...my heart is so full of YOU. xo Michael Taylor Gray
What's that ridiculously high note you hit around 1:20?
O_o Wow...fantastic.
Beautiful! The ensemble is a perfect blend.... Most enjoyable. I have a rendition of this song up.
Lovely rendition! Thanks for posting.
yes, VERY soulful
RAD!
Una de las mejores canciones romanticas de Jazz. Excelente interpretacion vocal.

Very romantic sounding and looking...
You are so soulful and I just love you!!!
I'm so impressed by this video of Gregg Marx singing. I've loved watching his TV performances on "DOOL" & "ATWT" in the 1980s. Thanks! Greeneb2
