ELIMINATE SNIPE and Tearout on Woodworking Planers
That's a really well designed, constructed and affordable air cleaner. Thank you.
Nice build, I have the same saw .. 😘 The only thing I'm missing now is an indeed table... That is actually the only part I built so far, it is detachable. Oh... Never mind saw your next video... indeed table... 🎉
Hey there. Ive built this table with this setup last year, and its been going mostly great. I did a few tweaks here and there, like doing a whole width drop down leaf as an outfeed, so it acts like an outfeed but also an assembly table. I have a bad back so the planer down there is starting to hurt my back, especially on long and full width boards. Im currently working on a table which will have a waterfall edge and i need to cut a 45 miter along 25", and this is where the new in feed will come in. Im contemplating building an even deeper infeed then what you have here and maybe have a swing arm to stabilize the end a bit more. Would you cut a miter that deep with a miter gauge or build a giant sled? My only fear is at 45 degrees there might not be enough blade left to cut through 3/4" ply and my stock which is at 5/4. Thank you.
Thanks for an excellent video
such a good idea!
Thanks so much for the free plans! My fan was a bit taller so had to make the back removeable (just in case), but used some weather stripping to seal. Seems to work just fine!
look great, simple build- on my todo list
Really should use MERV 14 filters to get 95% down to .01 micron.
Bro, looking around your shop I'd say you could stand to a little more serious about your approach to dust collection...
Thank you. Awesome video 😊
Great build! I’m going to build the same cabinet, I only have the table saw at the moment, but looking at getting a planer later. The only difference, I’m going to make my table entirely out of palette wood, instead of 3 wide, 4, using method of the mortise and tenon 😊
Thanks mate. Good video.
Maybe locate the planer on the bottom right instead of the bottom left. Then you could leave the right side of the base open to more easily turn the height adjustment knob.
Finally getting around to building one for my garage. Wondered if you have any updates, how well it has performed, have you been satisfied, etc. Take care and have a happy new year!
Any reason you didn't build the filter wall frames from single pieces of say 1x3 or 4 ? However it looks great !!
Hi, first thanks for sharing your plans this will fit my shop . ? why did you face the fan blowing down ( blowing the stuff off the floor ) and not facing up into the box. Thank you Roy
Very nice. I’m looking for a replacement bench and this appears to fit the bill. When designing, did you consider turning saw 90° so bench was the out feed and using two flip up side wings?
You're one smart cookie 👍
Great video, I am gong to make this for may shop. You gave me some terrific insight. Thank you
Okay new notes: Find a car with good covers and a good seat suspension still
Great work! It looks like you are loosing the first 7.5" of your ruler markings though. Is there a work around for that if you want to leave the table attached all the time? Thanks.
Much appreciated! Totally useful lessons and shared experience to avoid hassles!!!
thank you those look beautiful. step by step was perfect. i do not know if i dare to do this but we will find out in the future. exactly what i was looking for! thank you again
I wish I could just buy the case. I don't have a shop but i do own this fan lol
Going to order one now. Great job!
Nice!
Thanks for this, nice design. I have a question though, and it has to do with something you said, and what I was thinking as you said it. You mentioned, (paraphrasing) setting the fan to low to circulate the air so you didn't blow stuff around on the floor. I wonder if having the fan exhaust directed upward instead of downward would be a better option? It's a genuine question because I just built a portable unit that more or less BRUTE FORCE collects dust but it's designed to be placed close to where I'm sanding etc. I want a unit to be more permanent, hanging from the celling. So, what are the pros and cons of directing the fan exhaust upward vs downward. I have 12 foot ceilings in my shop so it will be up pretty high I think. Thanks again - and VERY cool car by the way. :)
Great video man, excellent presentation. Question for you: doesn't this just blast air downwards and stir up any dust in the area?
Useless, the filters create a higher resistance than in front of the fan, so most air that is blown out comes from the front
I love this design. I’m going to take this a step further, using the same laminating method, but making the frame out of pallet wood, which I can get for free from the company I work for.
Excellent video, very helpful. I ordered the fence upgrade right away and thank you for the tip.
Thank You.
The 11% link doesn't work, have they stopped this?
Excellent
Absolutely first class- very informative, thank you👏
You're a boss!!
So the air blows downwards? Does that not blow more particles and dust around the room? I would think blowing into the box would be better, but then you'd have dust and particulate on the motor of the fan....
Great video, but can I suggest less talking and get to the point quicker and not repeatedly before moving on. Just positive suggestion. Still very informative presentation.
Nice
I like your shop apron , it look durable , and good color . It seems to have great pocket locations that are both functional easy reach . I would like one for my self . Where did you buy / get it from . Enjoyed the useful information about the French cleats video. -Robert
I need it in India 🇮🇳
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH. I will be doing this to my old jeep this winter.
Hi. Nice work. What is your long term experience? Have you had to change the filters? Do you notice a real difference in just how much airborne dust that settles on all surfaces after sanding/sawing or whatever? Br from Denmark L
Super nice, I got my Dewalt Table Saw yesterday and plan on building a small table that fits under an existing table so need something compact enough and not to bit as i need to wheel it outside, this is a perfect size and has some good features, although im not sure whether to use the other space for my planer or for a router table with lift insert. Either way I will definitely be going with this design as it will fit my needs perfectly, so thanks for showing the build and also the plans.
Holy moly! What a nice design! Very nice work!
Hog rings were placed in hogs snout to keep them from rooting everything up
How easy and effective, made with offcuts. Love it
Curious as to why you chose to pull air thru the filters instead of exhausting air thru filters? The way you have it set seems to me that you are making more dust in the air with the fan facing downward instead of blowing into the filters.
I like what youve made here and im going to implement this design for my table saw/planer. Do you think if the tray and dustport are off the planer's back, theres a possibility to make a full width outfeed that would fold flat like yours? Thanks.
I bought a new tool for every time you said "basically." So thank you for that.
