There’s a shorter answer: throw it to the bin and buy a real thing. If you can’t afford real IWC - just buy a microbrand.

I'm a chicken, I always pull the Balance Complete first then denergize the Mainspring. When I was a kid I'd buy junk wstches from yard sales and thrift stores.I destroyed many watches. I had no one to show or share thier knowledge. I did not have the ability to observe the disassembly process. Early on, I annihilated many Hairsprings and broke at least a few Mainsprings. All my others are seiko, I will order the same Epson for replacement, I gave me confidence after your vid on the Casio thanks again baz. uk

i recently broke the stem of my hmt 0231 and now the stem is kinda stuck should i try to remove it myself or take it to a shop and will alum dissolve hmt stem residue stuck in the crown?
