Who's up for "follow the leader"? 😅
It was nice to see what you can do at Moon Rocks. Ive never been there and I live in Sparks!!!! The drone footage really helped see how awesome the area is. I think Ill take my new tundra up there and explore a bit. Reno is such a hidden gem. I just did Hunter Lake Trail and Verdi Peak which is just minutes from Moon Rocks lol. Its powersports heaven out here!
Just sold my zx14r and bought a klx300r 2022 and my grandson bought a KLX230R 2021.
@DubFamAdventures We asked at Borax Bills and they were unaware of owned property up there. Great spot, our first time there. Not sure when we will be back but defiantly want to do it again!
Idk nothing about motorcycles but I wanna get one so is this the dirt bike, standard or the dual sport?
Mine is the dirt bike version. Its a little tall and a little heavy, but I do love it!
Where is that?
California City, California. Smack dap in the middle of the Mojave Desert.
I have the same bike. Very manageable power. Coming from a rmz250 that wasn’t nearly as controllable on trails. I need to re-spring front and rear for my weight (250 lbs)
do you miss the 250 mxer?
@@jaime7890 ya I wish I would’ve kept both.
Good luck finding fork springs.
Looks Fun
So much fun!!!
Just bought one yesterday, picking up on Friday. Getting back into riding after 10 years. The dealer already put on a slip-on exhaust, ordered an EJK tuner as well. Cant wait to take it out next week!
I absolutely love them!!! My only complaint is the weight...she's a heavy girl! But, I think that translates into stability. Once you get used to the EJK and the slip-on, look into a 13 tooth front sprocket. Best $15 mod ever! Enjoy your KLX300R!!!
@@kevinelectraglide I was able to take it out on the track for the first time this week, and I absolutely love it. The gearing feels fine to me, so I will probably leave the stock sprocket for now. The bike feels pretty light to me, but maybe that's because my last bike was a DRZ400E, not sure.
@@PeckedToDeathByADuck That's awesome, glad to hear that you like it! I am taking mine out to the California desert this weekend...stay tuned...lol
These are such under rated bikes. The fuel mapping, clutch, trans are so damn smooth and just work. Suspension and chassis geometry are perfect for actual trail riding, not racing. So many people buy these, then "move on" to jerky throttle, carb drama, harsh suspension, valve checks etc cuz the Internet told them they need a race bike.
I could not agree more! I must admit...bone stock it was a dog. But after all of the typical mods (FMFs slip on, tuner, airbox lid delete), the best thing I did to wake it up was installing a 13 tooth front sprocket for 15 bucks...lol Still plenty of predictable power, amazing suspension and a California Green sticker. Plus a 6 speed transmission all for around $5k...you just can't go wrong!
I have one myself. It has its good points. But it has some bad one's too. If you set the rear sag correctly, the front fork angle is too steep. The steep fork angle coupled with the short wheelbase, this bike has, makes the bike oversteer badly in corners. It is also hard to find stiffer fork springs for these bikes.
@@jeffpaxton9172 U could buy a ktm or beta for over 2x the price, and have the little issues similar plus maintenance/rebuild/valve checks or breakdowns. I think for what it is the Kawi is awesome, and its the same steering angle as the KDX that is touted for its handling. Steering with the rear aint so bad vs the front pushing
@@tieoneon1614 My brother had a kdx back in 1990 and I never felt comfortable on that bike. When I bought the KLX I didn't know it had the kdx chassis. To me, this bike is very nervous at speed but to each his own I guess.
Love the vid man 👍🏻
just bought the 2022 model and I love it I'm still In the breaking in period of the bike though
Congratulations!!! It is a super fun, reliable bike. My ONLY complaint is the weight...she's a hefty girl.
@@kevinelectraglide ya it is
How do you like the bike so far? Any mods?
Oh, just a few. FMF slip-on muffler, removed the airbox lid (KX has an open air filter so why not the KLX?) and a Power Commander. Absolutely LOVE the bike!
The camera doesn't show how steep those hills really are. Some of the hills are gnarly AF
Nice 👍🏽. I showed up at 1pm. Later than I was expecting.
I left around noon...lol Man, the weather was amazing wasn't it?
@@kevinelectraglide yea was a good day
Hey so I’ve been there in a side by side a lot there and I have a dirtbike Suzuki Rm 125 now want gear would u recommend to be in for the climb
Flow master that.?
See you there memorial day weekend 🤙
Not for me, I’ll keep it stock until I hear what sounds good to me
So loud f that
When you tow and she's pegged at around 3k-4k RPM, doesn't it sound obnoxious? My '13 5.0 with Flows killed us when we towed with it. I have an '18 EcoBoost now.
It's actually not that bad. It is a little obnoxious, but nothing the rear sliding window being closed won't help with. I tow a 29 foot TT and if I'm pulling a hill, you can hear it. Maybe the 5.0 has more growl that the 3.5 does. I did leave the resonator on it, so I thing that helps a little bit too. That being said, I would 100% do it again.
@@kevinelectraglide thank you!
Most truck owners these days aren't towing anything except kids and groceries....
I love flowmaster growls.
Dont confuse this machine with the klx300, 6 gears, far more power sure its easy to make road legal
Whoa, you found some deep brush ... looked like you were making a new trail for a while! Awesome video, thanks for sharing!
I thought so too at first...then it opened up into an actual trail!
Is the trails there hard?
Wow that line is insane!!!
Awesome video!! The camera on the back was sweet!!
WOW!!
Gotta get off the main trails an into the really good stuff, the west side has the goods of what's left of open riding.
That whole fence along to the right in the first part is bullshit, used to be some of the best hill climbing. Politics are ruining that park. 😡
Where's Brian's crash?.. Lol. Cool lil track, needs some jumps
I left before his gravity check...lol
I go there all the time with my family and the big open place you guys were hanging out in was where we camp and where me and my cousins do donuts with our dirtbikes and quads. There are tons of wild horses and we drive out to see them every time. It's so fun, literally my favorite place in the world. It is indeed another reason Nevada is better than California (native Californian here)
Which system is this?
Replaced the stock exhaust from the resonator back. Installed a 1 into 2 Flowmaster Series 40 with dual slash cut tail pipes out the back.
What Bike is the Kawasaki?
Great video~ I saw so many dirtbike riders camped out by where we were and was thinking what a great place to ride. Fun video~
Hey where is this in Nevada. I want to go out there just know the spots to park a trailer and stuff
About 20 minutes north of Sparks.
There are secret trails east of Virginia city, ever ride there?
Great video! I will be there next weekend riding
Frickin great video Kevin!!! Thanks for the ride along my friend... Hope you post more like this..
Hopefully you can join us out there one of these times!!!
Good place for kids?
as long as you stay on the fire roads, that place has some seriously extreme terrain and you can find yourself in a place that your not capable of getting out from, unless you are a black diamond type off roader/rider
Do you feel any difference in power?
David Fesser offcourse not lol wtf
Héctor Dario Abarca was that a stupid question? You usually get some power gains replacing the stock muffler since the system can breathe better. I’d think that in a turbo application it would be much more noticeable. Not to mention all the comments and videos I’ve seen of the ecoboost f150’s getting more power from swapping out the stock mufflers and intakes.
@@davidfesser5547 Don't mind the troll. Dude obviously doesn't know what an ecoboost is.
No, I did't feel any difference. I'm sure if I strapped it to a dyno it would show an increase, but not enough to "Feel". That being said, I would totally do it again. I am super happy with it.
Zero power gains from a catback on an ecoboost. Been present for at least a dozen dyno pulls on these trucks with all sorts of mods. The only power gains I’ve seen exhaust wise is via an aftermarket downpipe, even then we’re talking less than 5whp.
Amazing video Mr and Miss Moody..
I put flows on everything, TOYO truck, 300Z, 70nhalfSS Camaro, 396SS elco, my Specialized MT BIKE. jk .sounds good for Ecoboost mang. u still selling that dirt bike?
Sounds good. I am looking to get this set up too but maybe without the resonator. How do you still like it?
