That'd have to be a 6 feet long house cat. We have many wild house cats around here, and none are that big. This was filmed from over 100 yards away, it would be impossible to see a house cat that far away. I live here.

@@DylanCDye Go to your Mama's and take a dog the size of a lab. Go to the field and start at the same point as the cat was first seen. Then walk along the tree as the cat did with the dog on the field side of you. Film it from same spot on the driveway. You'll have your needed perspective. I realize the field is planted now but that's how you understand the size of the house cat your mother filmed on her phone. Also send it to one of Florida Panther Conservancies and see if they'll verify it's a cougar or not.

Well, I've seen plenty of bobcats, and this one had a much longer tail and was taller. Also, it was nearly twice the height of a bobcat. It was also over 100 yards away, so granted the video quality was bad. Personally, I've never seen Bigfoot, but if you see one let me know.

I live in SW Florida, our property adjoins the Fl Panther Preserve, I know the Fl Panthers range…I’m not as familiar with its cousins, cougars or mountain lions. I hear claims of panther sightings, even the unrecognized black panthers, but the biologists can’t confirm its existence without proof. There are many claims but never photo proof, everyone has a cell phone…with a cell phone shot and coordinates of its location the biologists would be more than happy to search for evidence. Please provide proof of your claims, we desperately want to believe you.

Well, we did the best we could with what we had. Not everyone has access to old western towns let alone the ability to film in them. I hate you fell that way, but we had fun making and it wasn't supposed to be an authentic western experience. We were just doing it for fun. As for the acting, that was the first movie we did with a lot of talking, so we weren't used to it. We ain't professionals you know.

We are committing about Panther sightings, I’m not familiar with mountain lions or cougars if you or anyone has photo proof and the coordinates of the sightings of Panthers in Mississippi, cousins of cougars, please contact FWC Panther Biologists in Naples Florida, you could become famous. Unfortunately, so far, nobody has been able to prove their claim. I hope you can!

Same exact thing happend to me heading from Atmore going to Brewton. The car in front of me almost hit it. I know what I saw, their here too! Heard all the stories growing up but never thought l would see one

I have a cousin who lives in Arkansas on Northfolk Lake. My late mother and I went to visit her and her husband several years ago and and she told us to be careful walking outside at night because those that live in the area know of at least one cougar in the area. I was scared to go outside after dark while I was there. I know there are cougars in North and South Carolina as ppl have caught them on trail cams. I also recently heard of a report of one being spotted by more than one person in northern Illinois and northern Indiana. I believe their population has finally recovered enough that they are re-establishing their previous territories. They were all over our county at one time; why couldn’t they do it again? Look at the exploding coyotes population. There weren’t any coyotes east of the Mississippi when I was growing up mostly in Indiana, but now they’re all over the place, even inside our cities.

That’s very exciting Kathyrogers, I don’t deny your sightings. I’m not familiar with all cougars territories. I know about Florida Panthers, a subspecies of puma/cougar, Biologists don’t have any proof of any Fl panthers holding ground to procreate beyond SW Ft Myers Florida. Can you PLEASE send photos/videos of proof. There are many claims of Panther sightings beyond SWFlorida, even the never proved existence of Black Panthers but nobody has offered proof of the claims. If you can provide proof of your sightings it would be very much appreciated and your name would be in the books for providing valuable evidence. Thank you for your help

@Joe-gw9wh that’s great to hear Joe-, I’m sure it’s exciting seeing a Mountain Lion! I live in a wilderness area in SW Florida where we see Fl panthers crossing through our high ground property regularly, saw one walking down our long driveway today. They’re very elusive cats but have learned that we are no danger to them, when we encounter each other, the panther is the first to return its glaze back to the path it was on and ignore me, which I really appreciate! We share our sightings with the Fl Panther Biologists. Thanks for your reply

I live in central Arkansas, saw one on a closed circuit tv monitor I use to watch for the mailman and PKG deliveries. It was about 1am and I saw movement on the tv. It was a young deer trotting wobbly and looked injured. Guess what was 5 seconds behind? I remember hearing about the legend of the black panthers when I was a kid, finally saw one in my 50's. Btw, they are Jaguars with a genetic mutation for a black coat. Mostly in South America now since numbers have decreased in the US.

We usually don't focus on deaths too much, it's usually boom, dead, and he's done. We might try to incorporate more dramatic deaths into it for certain scenes.

It's a Florida panther(cougar) similar to mountain lion, but slightly smaller and lighter in color.

@@RobertSaget-iv4wv Florida panthers are a subspecies of pumas…cougars/mountain lions. They are actually larger than most large cats. So far there hasn’t been Any documented proof of Black Panthers…except the radical Black panther organization. I’m in constant communication with Fl panther biologist bc we see them regularly passing through our high ground property that adjoins the panther preserve. Check out “Florida Panther chasing deer” on RUclips, that’s the exciting action we see on our property.

Well, black panthers are a real thing. Cougars can have a genetic disorder where their fur can become black. Also, they could be black jaguars that come from South America. That's why they're very rare to see.

I'm from Sardis,Ms on the south side of Sardis Lake and me and my fiance recently as of a week or two ago was on our front porch and heard those infamous sounds a women hollering and baby crying. They are in Mississippi both black and tan ones my father encountered one over 30yrs ago while driving jumped clean over the hood of his car, he said the end of its tail brushed the hood. And one spotted on Sardis Lake as well. And me and my brothers and sisters saw one as children in the country where we stayed they've been around along time. How they've stayed secluded I don't know but for the past 5-10yrs they've gotten bolder by being seen.

@@MississippiGirl0013 Panthers are apex predators, and in the thick woods of Mississippi they can be almost invisible. There's many places where the woods are so thick that you can't see someone 3 feet into the woodline. Panthers are all over Mississippi, scientists and game wardens are just too stubborn to admit it.

Days before my parents heard a loud scream in the woods that they had never heard before, and said it sounded like a cat getting caught by an eagle. We also found very large claw marks in the woods on a tree, and were much too large for a bobcat. We had actually discovered them years ago but didn't think it could be a panther because we hadn't seen them around here.

Most people believe that Mississippi doesn't have cougars (or panthers) anymore, but even after the 1940s when they were supposed to be extinct people were still seeing them. They're just really good at hiding, so it's almost a miracle to be able to see one.

It was spotted in Perry County.

I do know where the safety is. It's non-existent, the gun is from the 1890s so it had no safety. I had trouble loading it because I was trying to do it quickly with shells that don't fit. But yes, it is funny watching me fumble.
