Ranger RD6 Signature Knife - Modifications
Просмотров 11 тыс.14 лет назад
I had Justin Gingrich of Ranger Knives do some modifications to this knife.
Love my Golden Hawk!
Just curious brother what number was yours
I have the Ranger RD7 and i love It as a one tool option
I bought 2 yesterday.. Im tweaking the grind ( especially on the tip) and the micarta scales
*This makes my old motor look like a toy **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it's well built. I haven't had it on the water yet, but I'm very sure it will perform just fine.*
Great video thanks. Great knife like the customization you had done.
Those lead acid batteries are very heavy. A single 24 volt lithium battery would lighten your canoe some.
The intro gave my brother an epileptic seizure. He is no longer with us
Nice setup l checked out Golden Hawks website hoping for something a bit longer like 17’ or more but it doesn’t look like they make a larger one😢!!
Maybe I missed it, what brand of canoe is yours?
Im looking for a canoe and this looks good. Can you send me the site so I can get some prices?

Where can I get this one??
Hopefully you will answer. But I am very curious if you still have this knife and what you think of it now? Also you had another video of it when you took the coating off it and forced a patina. But I can't find that video anymore.that was one of my favorite videos
What was the brand of canoe
not the largest marine batteries they make.
Great review & great mods. I wish I knew about this when it was still in production.
i put seats on my canoe,it became unstable
good video
Cool setup
Canoes Rock!
I did not know this monster even existed...WOW!!! How is it standing the test of time?
They made an Afghan signature series as well. There's a couple videos of it here on youtube.
How fast do you get with the 80lb thrust?
That Golden Hawk canoe really is an excellent design for so many reasons. We brought ours out in a storm on Lake Michigan this week to test the stability. With three foot waves and strong wind, the canoe was so stable we weren't nervous at all. Even in high wind and waves, we could paddle tight circles both tacking into the wind and jibing in the opposite direction with excellent stability and without taking on any water. The Golden Hawk is not a very fast canoe by any means, but I use my canoe for everything EXCEPT racing so it is perfect for my needs. I like that it will turn on a dime with paddles even in high wind. We use paddles instead of a motor. It looks like the motor batteries are really crowding your space. I sure like the seats you use and am going to look into those as an addition to my Golden Hawk.
picked up some good tips, thanks
whats the name and model of your canoe? Years ago there was a company called Hawk or somrthing like that. Great video. Thank you.
dont even have stabilizers? i sold mine a few weeks ago (same canoe) just because it was soooo tipsy, then again i had a 3 hp outboard motor on it...
Why a trolling motor on a canoe lazy. JK I use a trolling motor on my canoe ;) 😉 nice setup dude
Great video; very helpful. I see below that the seats are available at Walmart. Do you know the seat name/model (so I'll know I get the same kind)? I'm looking to buy a Golden Hawk like yours. Thanks!
hi Pike Monger... super video.. Loved the setting . I just wanted to know what motor are you using . I am planning got bu the 80lbs minn kotta riptide transom motor. it is a 24 v motor. So my question to you is if i buy 2 battery power center from Minkotta and put 1 12 volt battery in each power center. can i connect both the power centers and then 1 wire from each power centre positive and negative to the motor ? Do i need an extra circuit breaker ? I believe the power center has circuit breaker in it .. Kindly advice me .
Where did you get the swivel seat and how did you attach them? Thanks
Looks like a solid set up, I must say. I prefer a little 3-4hp on the canoe, personally. But you did really good with it, happy canoeing!
.
You've given me a couple of ideas for my canoe setup, thanks for posting this guys!
That's cool ! My center of gravity was much higher so I made some adjustable pontoons. Now is real stable :-) serenitysolarcanoe
Are the factory plastic scanoe seats air tight? If so, did you try to keep it air tight when installing the plastic board or put drain holes in?
Not dissing you bro but those are not the largest marine batteries made lol but nice set up man im looking into a canoe for fishing
Awesome. Yeah one of my plastic seats after storage completely came off on one side. Noticed that the screws holding it on were extremely loose. Guess I'll have to try something like that.
well I installed regular folding back swivel seats from cabellas. You know the kind for bass boats? Its a pain to mount to the flimsy plastic molded seats that come with the canoe. So I cut off the out dented part and riveted a sheet of 1/2 in thick plastic board to the scanoe seat, then allowing me to screw the seat bracket to that! alot of work but man was it worth it, a swivel and a backrest keeps you out alot longer
runeski74 could you tell me what seats you are installing? I have a scanoe as well and want to start setting it up they way I want, and those plastic seats have got to go.
Looks great, but I was waiting to see how you steer it. Do you have to reach back over head to grip the tiller?
Lol that is one PACKED canoe! Some great mods though!
subbed sub back please
I set up my canoe to bow mount, with two guys it runs nice and straight one person it tends to sway the bsck end Good thing about it you can steer and fish up FRONT
The back rest is NICE,I use a little fold out seat from the truck, its a small third seat behind the passenger seat of an s-10 pick up also got a little Elementary school chair dat works out, You can also remove the plastic back rest to a steal chair and use it I put up a video of my 17 canoe pleas stop by check it out..its got two trolling motors on it LOL
Awesome thanks for the info. Glad to see you are making this again. You wouldn't believe how many people ask about this canoe when we have it out. I will now refer everyone to Golden Hawk.
Love what you did to the Canoe! If you want some history on the hull it is a original Golden Hawk Canoe. It is a tumblehome hull designed back in 1968. Great Job on customizing it!
I liked the set up you have especially your canoe. Can I get the address or number where I can order one and the price if possible. Gary D
nice rig man. Thanks for posting.
Awesome canoe, I did some mods and added a trolling motor to my Old Town, but it's nowhere near as cool as yours.
