Actually, painting on a black background turned out to be a bit of a challenge -- it wasn't as simple as I thought. I'm still not sure if I'm satisfied with the result. In the video, you can see me working on the first layer. It was bright and vibrant. However, after it dried, the black background started to show through, and the colors looked too dark. I had to redo the whole process a second time to bring back the freshness and color to the peaches. Later, I tried going back to painting on a white background and then carefully covering the area around the fruits with black gesso.
