That's the simple way to say it. But even if I said more, I don't know the game's code anyway so hey. Like I said: 96% sure.

Hey, I couldn't repro the crash during the mystery, and it wasn't even on forced event. But I found the custom character on disco, and she has a linked custom event in the apartments where the crashed occurred. You sure you didn't put linked_ directory in character\ instead of custom\? And if it's from Workshop, yeah, it's probably missing completely. MAP - You are at the crossroads, and you've just left the clearing, so it's behind. I actually made the map orientation the opposite of the cardinal directions on purpose so you'd need to put yourself in the character's shoes, but later backtracked a bit and added a small arrow showing your current position and direction on the map - it's barely visible with this palette. Or you can ignore the map completely, the initial crossroads event shows roads going up towards the mountains or down towards the overgrown trail as seen from the driver's POV (5 EXP is 5 EXP though). For optimal ending A path with ILL-FATED: Run over the driver in the clearing, save the gun until he makes a reapperance and let the passenger use it, guaranteed -2 TAXI total with no STA/REA costs and extra EXP. After the junction: UPHILL - exactly what you did, if you don't brake check you save on STA but -2 TAXI for -1 is worth it. DOWNHILL - gain distance so you don't get pushed off at the shortcut, take the shortcut: -2 TAXI for -3 STA total, safe path: keep it steady, drive around the lake, keep driving backwards - no taxi lost, -1 STA total. Either way, worse than UPHILL, has a better reward ceiling with passed checks. Situational: If you have KYOKO and are doing badly, the forest will swallow 3 taxis for free during DRIVING THIS ROAD (it has different versions and ally checks depending on how many taxis were lost up to this point). If you have SUICIDAL, then you can get rid of the PITCH-BLACK SEDAN for free for a much easier boss fight.
