As a Black woman, the bigger problem I see is that a person can allow themselves to feel less than based on how another person treats or thinks of them. IMO, that is tacit acknowledgment or acceptance that another person is superior (whether racially, ethnically, economically, educationally, etc. I'm not ignoring the issue of discrimination or racism, but focusing on the issue of internalized racism.

A few years ago I watched a vid about Southwest Airlines and their hiring practices. One thing stuck in my brain. A supervisor said "we don't hire people and train them to be nice. We hire nice people." A person can pretend to be nice and helpful, but they're a phony. Taken to extremes, I think it's a symptom of a sociopathic personality.
