Hi there Krewe of Japan! I'm Tsuruko of the Tsuruko Maiko Forum; I'm pretty sure me and my forum are the 'infamous' page Peter Macintosh is talking about when he says the page that would not be named! I'm a Nihon Buyou dancer of 15 years and I've been affiliated with JAS here in Northwest Florida during said time; we're practically neighbors! Anyways; I disagree with some of his remarks when he describes users of my page posting about which Geimaiko-san belonging to which house; which with the way he phrases it DOES sound super stalkery. Just to be clear; we're not talking about literal houses; we're talking about who studies under who; and who is part of what Geisha 'family.' Some of the users are basically interested in Geisha genealogy to put it simply; and it's kind of fascinating from an anthropological angle because it is a Matrilineal system which is not the usual as we all know. Also the Imouto system of Japan is endlessly fascinating and Geisha culture is a great example of it; we have a lot of anthropology students and graduates including myself who do like to talk about these things; and there's nothing wrong with that. We take great efforts not to post addresses or any private information; all of our sources come from the public internet. We never post private photos or information; we have several users who are just as much in the know as Peter Macintosh; people who work and live in Kyoto. That said; it's true I haven't been to Japan! It's true some of the members of my page haven't been to Japan either, but we do live in a world where travel is a luxury that not everyone can afford. It would also be mindful of Peter to note that not everyone is in the health to travel too. I'm hoping to visit next March if my health is good enough to do so. I promise not to collect any awful little details though; I'm hoping to visit my dance school and attend some awesome vintage markets!

As someone who speaks japanese at a n3 level I would prefer AI translations (JP to ENG) because white people can't be trusted to translate things accurately.
