Worked perfectly (September 2024) - I did have to close and reopen VS Code a couple of times (maybe I had it open while installing Perl/MikTeX)

I receive a different message when I execute the npm install retype - my system responds with npm error The operation was rejected by your operating system. npm error It is likely you do not have the permissions to access this file as the current user along with a host of other error messages. What is a solution???

When hosting Retype on EC2 I cannot access the website. Just connection refused. I've tried changing ports but no success its like no website is hosted..

What a slow and convoluted thing, that's why I prefer good old Office Word. Straight to the point and without delay.

unfortunately my company blocks MikTeX processes because they are unsigned and I can't wave that restriction :( other that that great guide, if anyone faces issues with MikTeX not being able to update check your security settings, specifically apps and web browser settings, MikTex might get blocked by security based on reputation.

I ran the Strawberry Perl installer on VirusTotal, it's saying that is has TrojanMeterpreterSC is this normal? Edit: That's happening only for the latest version. The exact version that you downloaded on the video seems to be fine.

Hi, when i try to compile my first doc i thet this error in vscode. 'Recipe terminated with fatal error: spawn latexmk ENOENT. (source: LateX Workshop). If i open the latex workshop log it seems to me say that latexmk is not recognized as an internal or external command. Next it asks if the executable exists, and lists my system path. I manually added the folder location to the path but it still doesnt work. I also checked if latexmk.exe exists in the folder and it does... I installed in the default folder as in the video: C\Users\'My_name'\AppData\Local\Programs\MikTeX Maybe you (or someone else) encountered this problem. Thanks for the video nonetheless!

GitBook is now totally out priced itself. I am having to move as the pro pice if you want your own logo is now $16 per person PM but on top of that $85 per month to have your own branding. I am happy to pay for software as a software entrepreneur i know how hard it is build and maintain these. But with so many subscriptions for various product it adds up and we have moved to docusaurus. It is not great as non technical people used to manage the site now it's always a technical person who has to get involved. but it's simple enough.
