This is a great and humane system of raising calfs
A partir du moment où les animaux sont en groupe ils souffrent bcp moins d'isolement, se soutiennent et se coocoonnent mutuellement ainsi ça marche bien mieux!!!..
But the more I look at this set up gosh I got to wonder that's a long why for those calves to suck milk from, wouldn't be so bad actually if they didn't T it off like I'm not sure you can du that calves tire out to easly before getting a meal / but whatever maybe it does work feeds the older calves faster I guess the younger ones go in after for there fill when less pushing and shoving..
If a group of 20-30 calves where born within a few days of each other, at what age could they be grouped and trained onto the feeder?
What about cold climates?
I see it’s usually quoted as feeding 30/35 calves. How come this units doing so many more? What’s the main limiting factor on how many you can feed?
Hi Scott, We advise the 30 / 35 for optimal throughput for the calves. However, some farms have tweaked the system to add more lines and use bigger holding unit for the milk. Thank you.

Not in my experience. It’s important to keep milk available 24 hours a day, so they can feed little and often. That way they don’t overload the abomasum, and milk is well digested.
