Honestly, the story feels like a dual personality. First they were only together 7 years after marriage, then since college, then he’s done this before, but he’s not that old, his brother would know and so would the woman he has been in a relationship with since college. And, “we have to tell him, I can’t keep pretending the kids aren’t mine.” Then, he knows the kids aren’t his. Ugh. It’s so bad. First they are brothers, then they talk about the “Crawfords” and “the Crawford family” as if it is some rich, powerful family that has no connection to Derek, then they are brothers again. They have different last names. How the heck would the husband and sister not know that Melissa was sedated?

the father committed psychological torture on his daughter. I understand depriving his wife of luxury, but turning her into a homeless person, driving her into alcoholism, depriving her of a regular job and cutting her off from contact with her daughter. this is disgusting.

There comes a time when anger and revenge boomerangs back and hurts the person doing it as much as the guilty party. I think he's well over that line. My wife betrayed me and our children but there's no way I would take my anger that far. It wouldn't hurt him to allow his ex to get back on her feet. By this actions he made her sympathetic.

Why didn't Melissa marry James if they were so close and in love? Melissa saw her mother go through a destroyed marriage and still betrayed her husband.🤦 What sort of question is the one about the godfather? Wow!
