The Holywell Light Railway is situated in my back garden in West Herts. It is a narrow gauge system built to a scale of 16mm/ft and is an ongoing project
West Herts & Beds visit to the Ouse Valley Light Railway
A video showcasing the West Herts and Beds Groups of the 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers' Association during their delightful visit to the Ouse Valley Light Railway in Bedford. This beautifully crafted 16mm scale model railway, or should I say model village, features connected upper and lower circuits, adorned with an impressive array of finely finished and decorated houses and carefully selected and positioned planting. Apart from the incline between the loops, the railway accommodates both manual and remote control steam or battery-powered locomotives, making it versatile and enjoyable for all. The hosts also kept us suitably fed and watered on cakes, biscuits and tea!

Twice per year the West Herts 16mm Association Group visit the Holywell Light Railway. This late summer visit was very wet and so only three trains were in service.

Down in the New Forest was a wonderful little railway built by a former member of the West Herts Group who had moved down south. The West Herts Group was delighted to attend and run on this beautiful, extensive and well thought out railway.

6th July, 2019, the West Herts Group visited the beautiful Tryfon Vale Light Railway. This railway blends seamlessly into the garden with pneumatic points and signals, a lovely pond and meticulously kept flowers.

We were delighted to attend the first open day of the Chells Valley Railway. This is a very well thought out but small scenic line which has only recently been completed. Despite its small area it has a crossover which allows continuous running on both lines and has adequate sidings. Each year the 16mm Association Local Group visit each others railways. on 1st June it was time for a visit to the Penfield Light Railway. The Penfield light railway is unusual in as much as it has two railways in one. One being 45mm (16mm scale) steam and battery, whereas the other is 45mm (G Scale), track powered. Each summer members of the 16mm Association visit each others garden railways. The local West Herts Group, otherwise known as WHAGS normally visit in Spring at the end of Autumn. This is the latest visit. A good time was had by all. Thanks for everyone for visiting. The residents of Holywell village were very pleased to welcome everyone to their village.

On the 4th May I visited the Woody Bay Garden Railway. The delightful little railway is built within the grounds of the Woody Bay Station of the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway in Devon. I was made to feel so welcome and the weather was really lovely.

Tous nos membres ont été très impressionnés par la conception et la qualité du travail réalisé dans ce bijou. Ce fut un plaisir d’y faire circuler nos trains. Yes, the management thought they were a pretty good deal from homesense. I'm not convinced they will have any great longevity but they look lovely 👍
@@holywelllightrailway5684 I got mine at home sense as well. Don’t leave them out. The funny thing is that they are equipped inside such as to be an actual bird house but after mine were out in the rain the glue holding the shingles melted. It is water soluble!
