BYGONE - Generative Ambient Meditation // Arturia MicroFreak
An unattended generative piece programmed on the Arturia MicroFreak - a DAWLESS venture into stochastic/aleatoric procedures in music synthesis.
Generative music is a type of music that is created through a set of rules or instructions that generates new musical patterns and sequences over time. Generative music emerges from a process of improvisation and variation precisely by arranging notes via probability and randomness
This generative music is in the style of the pioneering ambient artist Brian Eno, known for his experimental and atmospheric compositions. The video showcases the endless possibilities of the generative modulations, as the sound evolves and transforms in real-time. From...

Просмотров 108Год назад
New EP “Polaroids” now available on Machine Tribe Recordings; mtrecdistro.bandcamp.com/album/p-o-l-a-r-o-i-d-s Aren’t we some form of impermanence, matter that is part of nature, struggling to return to where we came from, despite a world filled with intellectual entanglement and a false sense of eternity. “Polaroids” is a collection of improvisations captured with a piano and synthesizer. CROSSVIEW SESSIONS @McGill University by Stanford Cheung & Erich Barganier
Просмотров 1522 года назад
CROSSVIEW SESSIONS is a sonic experiment that realizes the filmmaker Yasujirō Ozu’s cinematic aesthetic “pillow shot” through live scoring and improvisation. “Pillow shot” is a form of “cutaway” where the view diverts from the narrative towards an unrelated scene before proceeding onwards. The result is a diegesis of classicism enriched by fresh and idiosyncratic spontaneity. A selection of Ozu...

Exactly
@@stanfordcheungI don’t actually know how this comment got here. I didn’t make it!
Great and inspiring job! What kind of reverb do you use?
It's a Walrus Audio Fathom Pedal!
Ryuichi Sakamoto quote at the end is just perfect
Just came across your beautiful tune, Stanford - thank you! 🙂
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Wow. The piano play in the first song, has to be some of the most beautiful piano play, I've ever heard. Thank you
Thank you for the kind words :)
Lovely
Thank you!
💙💛❤🧡💛💜🤎🧡💛❤💛💙
Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
I am so grateful for this upload, we need more people playing Yoshimatsu here on YT!
Indeed! I'm learning the entire collection of his Pleiades
@@stanfordcheung great! will be waiting to check it out
Magique
Merci!
Cool as fook... What effects pedal are you using? Any tips on creating generative music with a synth?
I'm using the Walrus Audio Fathom pedal- as for tips, the 32 step-sequencer is your best friend, as well as the randomizer
Excellent work! I've experimented with the walrus lore & walrus fable, but hadn't thought to do something generative with them until now. You are a true pioneer of sound!
The Arturia MicroFreak can sound expensive, if one knows how to use it!!
Fine and very ambient song! Best Frank
Thank you!
What is the symth?
It is a Moog Rogue
Just got my Microfreak Stellar edition in the mail today.! Have to learn how to use it now..!!!
Enjoy!
Very cool brother!! What u using for effects?
I'm using a Walrus Audio Fathom for effects
awesome upload.................balanced, nuanced and interesting, but - as I understand it, the Microfreak is mono, and has no internal fx, I assume that you're leaning heavily on fx processing here......sounds great...............nice to hear some Generative from the MFreak...............
I am using a Walrus Audio Fathom to process my fx, it's mainly reverb presets!
that's what I thought, (but I'm not really aware of that piece of gear)...thanks for the clarification
Awesome sound!!!!!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you!!
Excellent sound and music, I love the old Brian Eno very much - Music for Films and Apollo are state of the art at that time, but with David Bowie (R.I.P. bro) the album low! Always a bit of Blade Runner... So nice! I will buy this synth soon and have a try - is it really true, that the Mutable Instruments creator has her hands/brain inside?
Engaging, nice work.
Thank you!
Very beautiful and inspirational , thank you!
Thank you for listening! It was truly magical
What a sonically sumptuous piece! I am subscribing to your channel
Love this patch on the MicroFreak
Thank you!
Cool. What's going on with the freak? It almost seems it's going through the presets very quickly. Thanks for sharing!
I think the camera frame rate is a just out of sync with the led lights flicker frequency
what pedal are you using?
Walrus Audio Fathom
Cool result, nice Ambient music 👏👏👏. Like 34 and subscribed!
Thanks for the kind words! Stay tuned for a new release sometime in the weeks!
Beautiful! Subscribed.
Thanks so much!
Sperm was sent to her from a male inmate through a vent and that's how she was impregnated? lol what a conspiracy theory
I set mine to 30 bpm and it still seems like its rather fast.
What I found helpful when making sequences at 30bpm is by not programming notes for each and every step, and instead, spacing them out more.
@@stanfordcheung Ah I thought this was a randomized arp sequence, thanks for the pointer. I'm making a few generative patches on my Minifreak very fun to create.
Love to listen to them! @@termsofuniverse7251
Excellent, gonna try that with my Multistomp 🖤
Go for it!
Superbe, félicitations confrère lol 👍👍👍
