They teach wrong doctrines , don't go by the bible but their own bible , behind closed doors sexual immorality is rampant as well as drunkenness See Isa 28 : 7 . They worship Mary, members confess their sins to priest's as if they are God , priest's are called Father, the clergy wears black garments, they teach a literal hell, priest's are forbidden to marry , all these teachings are unbiblical !!! Bible says the true church is a little flock how can that be the Catholic church with it's nearly 1 billion followers ? Your worshipping the church instead of The creator . Wake up people !!!

The writings of the saints are amazing. St Faustina and Saint Bridget of Sweden are my current favourites.

I love your background music - Pange, lingua, gloriosi! (or, the short version - Tantum Ergo) When I started attending Catholic churches in 1981, with a view to possibly converting, the music was the main "aesthetic" appeal. I loved the Thomistic hymnns (this, and Adoro Te Devote), and also Newman;s "Firmly I believe and truly". In 1981 the Catholic parishes I visited had either a good organist, or the congregation could sing a traditional hymn unaccompanied. The "discernment" for me was less than a year between thinking 'Maybe the Catholics are right", and being received. Very few difficulties, Deo Gratias! In my talks with other converts, it seems that each of us has a different "main reason". Many of us started with the Bible, and saw something which nagged at us as a problem with our Protestant beliefs. For me, the key verse was "Any spirit which confesses Christ come in the flesh, is from God" [1 John 4:2-4]. From that, I could see immediately that Catholics confess Christ "come in the flesh", so must be Christians. Moreover, I saw in Catholicism the very embodiment of these words. The CC, in all its sacraments and teachings, proclaims Christ "in the flesh". Also, Christian unity in the CC is a VISIBLE unity ("the Church, which is Christ's body"), not a vague unity between people with widely differing beliefs. You hinted at this also, with "You are not a baptist if you don't....". I've now been a Catholic for over forty years, and while there have been many difficulties (more than I expected, with both life and the Church), there has never been one moment of "doubt". Not one! One of my "difficulties" has been the loss of traditional liturgy and music, which you quite rightly observed as a problem with the drums and folksy hymns when you first attended! I hear you, and well done getting past that! I haven't heard "Firmly I believe and truly" for many years. When I suggested it to our parish, I was scorned. Sadly, these problems seem to be deeply entrenched. When I joined, the priests were (very) kind men, but "patriarchal' and ran the parishes themselves, only delegating "work" to the laity, whereas now the laity seem to run the parishes, and the liturgy has become effeminate. I miss the priests and the Catholic church I joined in the 1980s. 😥

I converted to Catholicism at 50. Im now 57. My only regret is not doing ir sooner. Going through RCIA and receiving the sacraments at Easter is something I'll never forget. I am so happy to hear other peoples conversion stories. We all started somewhere different bur are all headed for the same destination as the body of Christ.

The south American idol he brought for youbguys to worship in the Vatican, the pope saying Jesus is not the only way to God, and all religions lead to God? Dont get me started on the statues of devils right there in your face in the Vatican. Catholicism is a religion that is teaches unbiblical heresies. to name a few: 1) The mass - teaching that a mere human priest can change bread into the literal body of Christ 2) The immaculate conception of Jesus' mother Mary - there is NO Biblical justification for such an idea 3) Purgatory - a doctrine of an indefinite state between heaven and hell where dead people go; this is not found anywhere in Scripture 4) Indulgences - the teaching that on can pay money to get the dead out of purgatory of hell and promote them to heaven; or one can buy merits to secure eternal life or forgiveness of sins past and future. The more money, the more merit 5) Salvation by observing the sacraments rather than salvation by grace through faith 6) The traditions of the church supersede the teaching of Scripture. If you want to learn about the history of the Christian church I recommend the book Great Controversy by the most translated female Author Ellen White. Also, read the book "Commentary on the Book of Revelation, Practical Living in the Judgment Hour by Dr. Norman McNulty. I am not happy with the Church of England and the Kings acquiescence towards islam holding iftars flying the flag of the islamic republic of pakistan from Lambeth house. I also really want to get back to basics. Therefore I am interested in becoming a Melkite Greek Orthodox Catholic. Regarding the Anglican Church it was the English Church part of the Catholic Church but broke away it was not created as a separate entity. I regard myself as an Anglo Catholic for sure and at that position I wonder what's the point.'
