I literally don’t get this. I work at a small independent bookstore and they use the square app as well for their register system and it’s the same thing like they don’t have it set up where you can accurately track your inventory sales. Like we just started about several months ago typing in the book codes to know which book we sold and they’ve been at this location for 5 years and in business for over 20. Tracking inventory both stock and sale is literally business 1 on 1. How can you run a store and you don’t know what your inventory is doing? Basically all I’m hearing is if when you go into business for yourself, don’t use square app that’s all I’m hearing. But also before you even start your sales at a physical location you should make sure you have a system in place that tracks all that. How do you know what your store is doing If you don’t know what your inventory is doing? You can’t maximize profit without that info. I literally don’t understand how that’s not understood before going into business.

Firstly, you should be so proud and mega chuffed with everything you’ve achieved with Sunny’s. Wow. What a legend. Second, saving that cat. Icon status reached. I have mixed feelings on the whole TikTok banning, which isn’t happening here but think we will still see the effects. I don’t think we should be banning apps, or by default free speech… yet I wish twitter, sorry X, was banned everywhere. I just hope for something else that’s fun, brain health and not run by egotistical maniacs. So that’s where I’m at.

Hope you still check the comments after long time because I got quite excited: "Florida Project" themed reading list is fantastic, I keep a general "poverty" themed books list and I will be more than happy if you could share your list in your spare time, would like to check the books out. Here are my recommendations for the Florida Project themed book list (it will be a bit complicated, because ı will write explanations in brackets for the type of books): (first, the ones I read and 100% matches with the type of book you're looking for): 1. How to Order the Universe by maría josé ferrada: very short but delicate... recent favorite. 2. The Life Before Us by Emile Ajar/Romain Gary: he is the first and only writer who won Goncourt prize twice, he used a pen name for the second one. This is way beyond words, just read it. 3. Yesterday by Agota Kristof: this time also follows the grown up version of a child in poverty, great for a deeper understanding in psychology and invisible barriers we put without noticing by ourselves, again short but will stay with you. 4. A Manual for Cleaning Women by Lucia Berlin: my favorite book and yours too, so I don't need to explain why it matches the theme but as you know this is not children in poverty (although the parts Lucia Berlin depicts how her alcohol addiction affected her sons really took me) I need more books like this. 5. In the World by Maxim Gorky: a favorite, the name can be different then this one so check for the Maxim Gorky's autobiographical trilogy's second book, this is that one. A Child's struggle to survive. 6. The People of the Abyss by Jack London: another favorite one, this time nonfiction(although most of the books in this category are generally biographical so we can even say nonfiction for all of these but doesn't matter) and I don't remember a time I felt the slap of poverty this badly, this will make you care even for the crumbs on the table after eating your meals. (we hear about several children briefly but mostly this book is about a neighborhood in London famed for its poverty, homelessness and Jack London's trip to there in disguise.) *(now the ones I didn't read but on my list)* 7.Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart 8.Maid by Stephanie Land 9.The Winter of Our Discontent by John Steinbeck 10. Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich 11. The Night Cleaner by Florence Aubenas 12. Ramona and Her Father by Beverly Cleary *(Turning back to ones I read but now %80 matches) 13. The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers: my favorite book of all time, I try to read this regularly again and again, so far read it twice. Poverty is not mentioned so clearly but what we follow is people who have dreams for life and silently they all know they will not accomplish them with their economic situation-also the title(inspired by a poem) emphasize that, we are alone for trying to do our passions, no-one helps, no one cares- just like the Raymond Carver quote "Dreams are what you wake up from." The characters will live with you after you finished the book. Also I recommend you to read how Carson McCullers started writing told in the wonderful book of daily rituals of artist by Mason Currey: meaningring.com/2015/05/17/daily-rituals-mccullers-by-mason-currey/ 14. Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy: children added to the book while we approach to the end of the book but the weight of their sorrows only in just couple of pages will make this book an unforgettable experience for you, it follows a poor man "Jude" who tries to be a known wealthy man by trying to attend college etc. but what he only could be a bricklayer and then swirl of poverty grasps them. then what he could only be became "obscure". 15. Hurry Down Sunshine by Michael Greenberg: a favorite memoir, pairs poverty and psychological disorders at the same time. You feel for Greenberg's daughter but at the same time you feel anxiety of her father by trying to pay expenses with his small earnings as a writer. 16. Hand to Mouth: A Chronicle of Early Failure by Paul Auster: Another favorite memoir, I felt this book so deeply as I am also trying to figure out a way to live with my art-it's not happening:)- he even one time because he was so deeply desperate tried to sell a board game prototype in a game and toys fair, this reminds me of myself reading board game magazines and collecting mothers success stories as their games bought and put on big market ahaha. if you want to read a modern bohemian artist's poverty memoir this is unmissable. (*Now %80 matches but the ones I haven't read) 17. Maggie: A Girl of the Streets by Stephen Crane 18. Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century by Jessica Bruder 19. The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov 20. Matthew Desmond books 21. Dale Maharidge books Couldn't wait to check your list of Florida Project themed books! Take care...
