We are in the era where NA engines are disappearing and turbo cars are just everywhere. Smaller engine with turbo's is the trend. The only car that doesn't follow is Lambo's. Then for the highest end of the Exotics are going into Hyper Cars...These turbos are not the ones we experienced in 80's in the Japanese sports cars. I had them all. 300Zx Turbo, Supra Turbo, RX-7 Turbo II. They were faster than NA versions but had "Turbo Lags" They couldn't fix it then. OK. I said "Good Bye" to Japanese cars and went on to European ones. Porsche 911 Turbo, 930 Turbo to begin and had a Lotus Esprit Turbo S4. Lotus is the one with small 4 cylinder (They went on to 8 later) with the turbo but did not have the lag that other cars did at that time. It accelerated even in lower RPM's. When I moved to more exotics to Italians and have been stuck with Ferraris... choosing between 458 and 488 have been an ongoing homework for the last year as I want to move up from F430. Although 488 has astonishing performance that people say 458 will never match, but most us are not race drivers that need of extra push. 458 = Last NA engine, Last Pinin Farina Design488 = Super fast but turbos make the car sound terrible. Not Pinin Farina designed.If money is not the issue, I'd go with 458 Speciale Aperta as I am a spider person. With limited finance resource, maybe 458 spider and change the headers, pipes and exhaust. With Aperta's price, I could get 458 Spider plus 488 spider and still have some money left... Interesting... 458 just sounds incredible and you could do so much with it. 488, Nope...
