Wow nice!!!
Still awesome in 2024😀👍
Sweet
Man that sounds great. Tone and Playing.
Sounds glorious!.
My first guitar amp as a boy (around 1966) was a BR1..Now that I’m ascending into my second childhood I want another one coveteously.
1:39 thank you ! I was waiting on that
Love love love it!!!!
Just got one. I'm looking for Electrolytic, Multi-Section, Can, 10/20/30µF 350V. Do you know where I can get one? Thank you for the great vid.
I heard from a guy at Long & Mcquade in Toronto that the solid state model is even better.
cool I still have mine. Way cheaper than a Fender one but I haven't A/B them. Seems to add some gain too with the tubes. Not sure if the Fender Reverb does that
Hi, Valco Tone! I know I'm late to the party, but this sounds great. I ran across your posts on EL34 World. Would you consider doing this conversion as a commission for payment? If so, please reply so we can connect! Thanks!
hi Carl - I responded on EL34 World.
@valcotone thanks, I've already seen it and responded. Didn't mean to swamp you
Dio mio che goduria!!!!
BB King had the same one... you ruined this one with the three prong cord...hahahaha
You have some GOOD demos and of all the gear I want mosr - Valco Supreme,5C3,Mk1 Tonebender.etc
First time I see that xlr adaptation
I bought (3) of the 75A microphones like this. They had already been modified before I received them. I really enjoy the sounds they produce for special recording scenarios.
Lots of harmonic overtones there, especially obvious at the end, almost like an octave fuzz effect. The hot bias of the power tubes maybe?Less cancellation of even order harmonics?Sounds amazing,
Nice
So sweet i need one of these who would have thought a Fender amp and Gibson Les Paul guitar would be a match made in heaven.
Since i've been loving you... ❤😢
You can get a VERY similar tone to this from the supro Delta King 8.
Amazing ,like a old fender champ
My first good amp as a 14 year-old. The reverb came from whatever room you were playing in. This was followed by an Ampeg Gemini II / !!!###
this gig was near the start of a long national tour that ended up in New York City near Thanksgiving when the "In The Magic Shop" Sessions were recorded. Those sessions were not released until 2014, but this is the same personnel and we used the tour to prep the material intended for the recording session.
hey Paul, thanks for sharing the memory. This was a wonderful show to experience (and capture, luckily) and the memories of it are still strong. I haven't listened to the Magic Shop sessions for a while, excuse me while I reach for the CD and spin it here now.... :)
Zeus called. He wants his lightening bolt back.
What mic is that you’re using?
It's a Heil PR-30B large-diaphragm dynamic microphone.
I love a good Sean Costello cover 🔥
I have this Amp, but mine was USO Amp that toured Vietnam
I got one for free. The tweed was eaten off by bugs and I had to fix some speaker holes but it's a cool, good sounding little thing.
Has some of the ratty honk of the old Valcos/McKinneys and the dynamics of the later 5e3.Nice!Playing and recording is better than most demos btw,Thx!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Do you know the speaker ohms required for this amp?
I think it's 4-ohms.

@@MrAtsguitar you're welcome!
That’s my dream tone. I want to make one. I’ve made loads of amps but never made an octal preamp amp. Time to get researching.
What speaker is in this? What schematic is this amp i love it
I have one of these…, and the grill looks like a shell it only has two knobs….! I purchased it at the thrift store for $45.00 I took it home and plugged it in and it worked…..! The nice thing about this Amp it does not have any effects and I don’t have to use any to make it sound great……🎶
Sorry, but it is a real madness to play this historic amplifier (from the 50s) with a guitar with a "distortion" while, at the most in that period, a DELAY was used like the guitarist Danny Cedrone. ruclips.net/video/NCMF02-u1ss/видео.html *ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK* guitar solo version in the style of *Danny 🎸Cedrone*
Hi Francesco, I think there are many ways to use old guitar amplifiers, and this is only one example... in this demo I just happened to turn it up to hear the natural overdrive of the amp. There were no distortion pedals used. I mentioned Mr. Cedrone’s wonderful work in the description. Thanks for watching.
Very nice
Great licks! Just restored one just like this... sounds exactly the same. Completely stock! FYI: If you plug a jack into the other input it will increase the input Z and the amount of signal making it to the preamp. Monster sound!
So good! I'm thinking about selling of my other amps and going after these small old beauties.

Have a little Sean Costello with your percussion why don't you?
It's a live gig obviously, so the mix settles in over time with the soundman and musicians all making little adjustments along the way. The drums struck me as a little loud in the first set but about perfect in the second. You are right that with the unexpected pleasure of a percussionist who just showed up and sat in the second set, there is more going on in that way than in our typical shows... but it was a great night and we are lucky to have it captured here despite the imperfections than can mark a live recording.
1:58 pure rewind. I have a 1950. Love it, never sell it :)
What speaker are you using? Sounds great!
Killer tone
That is perfect Tonebender tone.
Is that natural break up or a pedal?
Guitar + Amp. No pedals at all.
