great
Anything Harry Nile is good.
Never heard these early ones. They’re great!
Great story!
👁️👁️ 🐽 👅
I grew up on this
The best thing about Catholics is that none of them really believe it. They like to dress up, go into ancient buildings, sing weird songs, do weird things, make weird confessions, and then be done with it and return to their ethnic enclaves and their boys and be their true selves. (However, voting is one of their make-believe sessions too!)
Paul Frees had such an awesome voice! May he Rest in Peace.
Not me!😂
I remember listening to this game on the radio when I was 11 years old. Koufax’s first pitch went over the backstop. Does anyone else remember this
Do more of these please. Loved listening to these as a kid with my mom
Unfortunately, no more exist
That was fun. Thank you
Yep.. thanks so much!
I find myself wondering about the backstory to this. Did the network want to give Bob & Ray a try, and found it easier to pass this off as an episode of an existing series than to sell it as a special? Or did Morey Amsterdam get angry over the cancellation of his show and refuse to do the last episode, making it necessary to find an act that already had enough material to fill half an hour?

Hey, you cut off the end of the show .... is there a way you can post just the closing credits and put a little notice here to where that post might be after you do that. As Stan Freberg would say, "You cut off the ending. One of the loveliest parts of the whole story."
I'll look into it
@@RadioHistory-et8pp Okay ... a month later and???? what did you find out?
@@robertwilliams3600 I see nothing wrong, how it is, is how it is
@@ARoomWithAPast527 The end of the program is cut short before they finished with the credits of the show. WHY? How it is, is you don't know what you're doin'!
@@robertwilliams3600 AS I TRIED TO SAY, that is how it is, the original recording and that is how it is, as for me not knowing' what I'm doing, I have a suggestion, DO IT YOURSELF, stop moaning and groaning, do your own, and really, get over yourself
I read about this interview in "Jolson: the Legend Comes to Life" by Herbert G. Goldman. Great book, Avery informative and entertaining read.
Great Harry Nile radio play.
I have not heard this since 2003. Wow.
Long live quality radio
Thanks for posting.
Harry always makes it ,thanks
This must sound extremely schmaltzy to modern ears; nevertheless it hearkens back fondly to a much simpler time..... I find it strangely appealing.
Thanks
Thanks
Harry Nile and the Imagination Theatre. 👍👍
A too little remembered comic of the 30's. A contagious, goofy style that wears well with time ... Yuk, yuk, yuk. yuk!
Yes❤
"Chandu the Magician" a direct ancestor to our modern day fictional sorcerer supreme of the MCU "Dr. Strange"🫠
I love me some Harry Nile. This is the first installment of the longest running detective drama series in the history of American radio. Thanks for sharing.
This guy was suboptimal trash Nice to know cbs had staff pianist on hand for this Per dr Michael biel

Is also part 35 missing? Thanks for sharing that amazing radio drama though! It was wild! Also, just so you know: Part 6 takes place before part 5. Also part 20 takes place after part 23.
yes 35 is missing, and not quite sure what you mean about the other parts
OH, I think you mean out of order in playlist, I have corrected that, funny thing is, I looked at the playlist of this at your channel, and 5 & 6 round the wrong way, but on mine they are correct, not sure what's that about, but at this end, all in order
@@RadioHistory-et8ppSorry, I should have mentioned I was talking about the playlist ^^' When you listen to episode 5 and 6, they sound like they switched places. What happens in episode 6 actually takes place before episode 5. It also checks out if you listen to the "in the previous episode" intros.
So should I change 5 to 6 ?@@gluglotte
Ok I swapped 5 and 6 round, they must have been wrongly numbered, hope that works, and thanks for taking time to let me know@@gluglotte
Another great episode. Thank you, once again for posting. 11-29-23
Thanks again!
WOW. A good story with a twist ending. Thank you for posting ❤️. 11-29-23
You are so welcome
I enjoyed the story and the organ music. Thank you for posting ❤️. 11-29-23
Glad you enjoyed it
This is a wonderful series, albeit not a faithful adaptation of the original Victor Hugo novel but a very exciting rendition all the same! Thanks so much for sharing, can't wait to listen to the rest!
Tomorrow, I will post the rest
Sorry I got sick and was delayed, they all being posted as I type this
@nerd2.0, absolutely not a stupid question, in fact it's a very good one, and the answer is, I missed one, which has now been uploaded, thanks for informing me
A gun-wielding opponent of the arms race? An anti-fascist in a chauffeured Daimler? Uh-ok
I absolutely LOVED THIS ONE !! had never heard any radio shows of “ the saint “ this guy was phenomenal! Thank you ! Do you have a support page ?
I am this channel answering from another channel of mine, I have no idea what a support page is, I have never heard of it, glad anyway you enjoyed the show
I meant like “ buy me a coffee ? “Or a patreon page ? It’s a way someone who enjoys your content to gift 5$ or so to show appreciation ( I’m not an expert bc I only listen but u usually buy a coffee for a few of my fav radio uploaders per month
First, you can pop over and pick me up off the floor!, I had no idea people did that, if you gift others on here for their work, in my book that makes you a very nice and honest person. I don't have any of that, but it's heartwarming to know you thought of me in that way, just curious, are you England, going by your screen name? @@Oxford322
If you do a search, you can likely find the ones with Vincent Price. I don't think he suits the role. George Sanders in the old movies is THE SIMON TEMPLAR, to my view. I listen to many of these old radio broadcasts. The JOHNNY DOLLAR, the PHILIP MARLOW and SAM SPADE (and others) ½ hours are wonderful.
besides the TV show, (ages ago with Roger Moore), Val Kilmer was an incredible Saint. this guy is good in his way, which is a completely different Saint. he’s so very serious and flat. (Patrick McNee would have made a marvelous Saint, come to think of it.) the Valerie character is The most annoying woman i’ve ever come across. how can someone be stupid and cunning? the actress does a great job. i really can’t stand her.
