Hard to play? Boi have you HEARD of RLcraft before?
i also started playing around 2013 when i was six or seven, and I feel the exact same way! thank you for sharing your experience!
I'll tell you why. Because OG Minecraft was incredibly different. It was way better than today. Water was a safe haven not infested by drowned.
someone complaining about a game getting better is insane.
Geeez you really adsensed the shit outta that vid!
I have one survival world. 4,000 days. Im level 200. I have hundreds of builds, across a 16 map area, fully detailed, decorated, connected by paths and bridges. Different themed zones; medieval, Japanese, modern, farms, fantasy, woodland...man i built a huge castle again fully detailed and decorated, an armorer, bakery, tabern...shops and stalls inside. Again, all survival. I lost interest in the middle of building a new zone; w desert themed area with an Oasis... I just can't get myself reinvested in minecraft anymore. I start a new world, fully progress gear, enchants, beat the dragon, kill the wither, build a base and some farms and lose all interest.
Minecraft is a game I like watching others play rather than play it myself
You're insane. You just can't cope with change and you're trying to justify it with nostalgic vision.
The loneliness of og minecraft was what incentivized me to use creativity to fill it. I feel obligated to explore the new superficial things and activities they’ve added and yet lethargic at the idea of doing so. On paper they’re supposed to be interesting, but at the end of the day it’s too simplistic of a game to carry the burden of fascination for you. You bring that wonder to the world yourself.
I can answer. I have had played minecraft since 2014 and got my own java account in 2015. The reason it's hard to play minecraft now isn't difficulty... it's just boring now. So many mobs that drop virtually nothing (and I include the warden in this because it's drops are not worth it) The new biomes seem cool at 1st glance but they quickly just become this previous biome but with different colors as most of the new biomes... aren't really unique. New wood sure but unless you're a builder you won't find much joy in it. The bigger caves going below the y axis are also fun... at first, you quickly realize you need to do twice if not more repetitive work which isn't hard to do, just boring, to get which you'd have gotten in half the time in older versions of the game. Netherite is a needed update, diamond was the best for too long so adding it was a plus and it's unique ingot creation is fun too... but the amount of threats after that is so few that unless you're playing without a brain nothing should be able to kill you anymore. Mobs like zombies won't even be a threat anymore. I can go afk at night, go make dinner, come back and not only still be alive but be surrounded in rotten flesh and creeper holes. Minecraft isn't hard... it's hard to play because it's boring to play
making me feel old- now all the youtubers i watch are like actually my age and it's weird af
I still have an email from February of 2012 when I (my parents) first got Minecraft Old Minecraft is like a Punk Rockstar vs New Minecraft that is very sterile and corporate feeling
the editing on this rules dude, great video, especially loved the intro to chapter 5
No its uneccesary and boring like i have to play this on 2x speed
huh? The people wanted all these tbh, We demanded for a change, and now why are we angry for them following?
This editing is immaculate dude
@@Baard5Szomorufr lile i have to watch this at 2x
I love all of the new updates to be honest. Caves and cliffs certainly fixed mining. In fact, it's not enough for me and I use mods. But I can also appreciate your perspective. It sounds frustrating for someone who appreciates simplicity to have all of this 'bloat' shoved in their face.
So I'm 9 months late to this and you probably won't even see this. However, something that rrally struk me was whe you said that you didn't want things to end but The End isn't really the end. It was just the ending you had set for yourself. You can set your goal at a different point and have that be so much more than just reaching the credits. Building something awesome or whatever you want. I'm not saying your conclusion is wrong here but maybe your perspective has left you to miss something. Granted I mainly play on modded realms these days so who am I to judge?
Is it called "strip mining" because you're stripping the earth of it's resources, or because you'd do anything for a diamond? Hehe
Buddy, in 2013 I considered myself done with minecraft. I did everything that you could do in it, built everything, had a farm. Had all the achievements on Xbox. You were still late to the party
damn I was not expecting what he said at the end
Yknow bro, you'll return to this game once again when you're into your 20s and find a whole new appreciation for what it is, no matter what version you play. Was exactly the same for me, those teen years somehow just don't mesh with what makes this game so rewarding - patience, creativity - as a teen I craved action, I couldn't sit still for long, always had to do or experience something new or "progress". That's what ruined minecraft, it's best enjoyed slowly, an hour or a few every couple days maybe, not to achieve anything, to finish the game or whatever, but just to enjoy the quiet and peace, and to thrive in an infinite sandbox that really encourages creating whatever you have in your mind
hay what version where you using?
I picked up the game in maybe 2014 and am a bit younger than you, and I also have to thank this game for making my childhood better. I never beat the Ender dragon or anything, at least not in a fair way, but it still gave me memories and continues to. Even my pursuit of illegally downloading the game was a memory. A skeleton killing me and my sister's dog is another one. The houses I've built, my cave adventures and the countless videos of the game I watched are different ones. And no matter what, this game will have its place secured.
geez thats a lot
That's the beautiful thing about Minecraft; it's almost like an old. I don't play it nearly as much as I used to when it first came out, but its definitely an experience, and its one that we keep coming back for, time and time again.
I want to play The Battle for Conwy Castle again... so... so badly.
Bro goes from “glass shattering sneeze” to this in a span of a month. RUclips was, and still is, a wild place.
Ive been playing minecraft on and off since it was in alpha. I graduated school in 2014 and minecraft was starting to get really big. I loved that id been part of a community before it was even well known. I stopped playing around 2018 and only just got back into it recently. So much has changed i feel like it isnt minecraft anymore, but something more (which isnt bad). When the texture comparison came up, it was like a slap.back to 2014, so much nostalgia. Made me long for the care free days 😌
Game looks pretty at least.
Minecraft got hard for me to play because after awhile I realized how dead the world is compared to other games. I wish weather effects and random events happened similar to a RED DEAD world. By default we should have nature sounds since it’s outside. Also if you play on console you never get any of the fun PC features or mods. Why won’t Mojang let us buy shaders? Why can’t we get better customization options. Base game water texture is so outdated now. If you watch anyone play on pc and world edit etc it’s hard to get on console and be fully stripped down. For me that’s just some of the issues. Would also be cool to have random encounters. The world doesn’t need to be so huge. All that space is limiting space for other features
Ive never understood why people think that defeating the ender dragon means the game is over. You can just keep playing
Do me a huge favor for those of you building a log frame. Extend your log frame outside your wall by one block. It'll add depth
You earned my Subscription thanks for making this video
I think there is a mental illness that's going un noticed these day's js~ For me I love playing MC for a while then playing other games I have because my family but I always find my back not for nostalgia but to see what new mods or updates I cannot play modern AAA game's these day's so I got a emulator for my PC to play the games of my youth and those I couldn't afford but wanted. I'm 40 I played MC when the mobs didn't respawn there were no mounts only the pig and the carrot rod recipe didn't exist, I miss read the title thinking you meant harder to solo and it is but I rather play alone though I may cheat to find the ender dungeon or the nether castle I still play on survival. My favorite survival games I can no life are Conan exiles , Palworld, Minecraft and the Forrest.
"If you skipped to the end, fuck you" LMAO 😭 Yeah dawg, I think you've just beat bout as much fun as you can out of it. So goes with old and beloved games. I'm pretty much there with TES Oblivion & Skyrim. I might take a peak sometimes for nostalgia's sake, show it off to a noob friend or try out some old mods I've been really wanting to try but never did, but I'm pretty much done with them. It's been a long time man, and you're young. Cherish them and seek out something fresh and rejuvenating. I gotta disagree with you though. I played Minecraft a loong time ago, I stopped years before Microsoft bought and I'm just now getting back in. Personally I like a lot of the changes they've made, and I've taken it steps further with mods. I think the Dante's Inferno version of the Nether was boring, so is the Overworld and how empty and lonely it can feel. It still has it, but I think investing a bit more into exploration is a great idea.
i first played when i was 7 or 8, and minecraft was the best as a kid. the problem is as adults we stop playing games the way we used to with such creativity and imagination. we see things very literally now and are more focused on the grind and goals than jus chillin and having fun making wild creations. i played for years during a time when we were seeing new stuff get added on a consistent basis, but it was small, incremental, really, and it didn’t add a crazy amount of new things with those updates. it really jus tried to expand on what already made it great. fast forward a few years, and the game got way too complex and grindy which isn’t what minecraft was supposed to be. here we are about a decade later from the time it started getting out of hand and losing its simplicity and identity. it’s impossible for me to play now. unsure why. any time i give it a real try, i get excited to be in a new world, get the foundation of a house down, and get bored
It’s not. It’s hard for YOU to play. You’ve gotten fatigue of the game. Simple.
I knew i wasnt the only one who noticed this lol
Shut up bro
It is lonely that's usually why I build in a village or play the apocalypse mods to make it feel more like a reason for being empty.
Im so lucky to be that kid that ONLY played creative, as i got older yes my games got more mature like i graduated from oblivion to skyrim, then fallout series, then i started going to infamous and plenty of other games. But when i got older i started playing older games more mature, castle crashers, fable, fallout 4, dying light, anddd you guessed it, survival minecraft. My nostalgia isnt gone and my creativity is still there 100% but the way i play is different, the game style i play as is different too, instead of a character with brightly colored hair and black clothes are now actual realistic views on what i want a character to be like. Like gosh i havent played sims 4 since i was 14-15 and i cant imagine what it would look like when i go back 😂
So like as a lapsed Minecraft fan in my 30s, which means I don’t have nostalgia for the game, I first got back into the game in the 1.16 update thanks to pewdiepie videos. I will say the game was still magical and left me with wonder and joy. Discovering ocean monuments and not knowing what they were, seeing my first badlands biome, hearing cave sounds, it was all pure magic. So Minecraft itself is still that amazing game it always was. It is harder for me to play now but mostly because 1. My attention is harder to keep lately but if someone is like “want to play Minecraft?” I’m always down and 2. The early game since 1.18 caves and cliffs part 2 has become a chore to play due to progression taking much longer The game is very self made goals oriented. It shines when you have ingame projects to build. The loop around gathering the resources for the project and then building it is so satisfying. So like if you’re not in the right headspace this loop becomes harder to do. As for why playing with friends is easier is due to well 1. Playing with people is fun and 2. Body Doubling. Basically Body Doubling is when you can be more productive when you have someone else with you, not even so much helping you but just being around you.
i love watching videos where it just goes totally off the rails and when you check the title you’re like “they haven’t been talking about this for like twenty minutes”
The music and artstyle make a big difference
Idk. The game is what you make it really. I have a server in beta 1.7.3 that I have been playing on and off for almost 8 months now. There's no ender dragon, there's no villagers to trade with. Just me and my friends creativity. And when they hop off, just my creativity. I understand that's not for everybody, but ender dragon and "end game progression" really just kinda put the nail in the coffin for this game for people who are adults now. This game asked you (as in you the collective playerbase, not bs hagaman or any one person individually) to imagine, and then you grew up, came back, and failed to imagine. We're trying to turn playgrounds into office spaces now, and that's honestly not what the game asks of you. If that's what you ask of it, sure, it can deliver that, but there's better experiences for that if you want it.
Such a smooth watch ... Love how u recorded it ❤
Your editing is actually so amazing, especially in the chapter intros. new sub.
Playing this game with my own kids now, and loving the experience of teaching them how to survive in this amazing virtual sandbox.
saying you were 6 in 2013… talking like you’ve grown up sir ur still in high school
The edit that you did after you found your first diamond was badass I love that so much it was so cool
