The Mycological Association of Washington, DC (MAWDC) is a nonprofit club of amateur and professional mycologists. We study, forage, and cook wild mushrooms, and educate the public about fungi. Our events in DC, Maryland, and Virginia include monthly guest speakers, forays with expert identifiers, and members-only tasting events.

I love the making up of the common name "Red Hot Tooth" on the fly
We ARE the fungi.
Awesome video
Heads up that dandruff isn't solely a fungal disease. Dandruff is caused by the skin being irritated to a point it starts expressing genes that accelerate the skin's growth, so it flakes impropeerly. It's the same for flaky skin that's common on feet. The fungus does contribute, and contributes a lot in some cases, but it's only a single factor of many possible ones. Saying it's a fungal disease is just something some dandruff shampoo manufacturers came up with. Using a dandruff shampoo (that doesn't irritate your scalp) can definitely help, final straw and all that. People have also managed to fix their dandruff by eating healthier.
The war is not over. They’ll win in the end.
Smurfs approve of using mushrooms into homes!
Good to see Gandalf & Saruman in the Zoom.
The fungi have won. We exist at their discretion.
Very Interesting!
Absolutely wonderful!!!!
Truly fascinating
Any chance of us getting recipes for some of the winning dishes??? 🙏🏻
we've come back to this talk a few times now and love it... Dr. Steve, you are fun to listen to and your info is a lovely cascade. Thanks man! SYMCYTO
God has done a great thing in my life by using Doctor Omole on RUclips to cure me from herpes disease😍😍
What is the best ratio for making a tincture? 1g : 5ml alc. or 1g : 10ml alc.?? Can anyone answer this?
chat GBT will help with specific questions like that with regards to hard to find questions online.
@@windupmerchant1679 lmao thats brave trusting chatgpt for that. I saw someone post a chatgpt identification saying a destroying angel was edible.
That trailer seems to be solar powered which is awesome.
I personally like mica caps but the old man of the woods stock is an interesting concept; when something tastes like dirt it's hard to imagine how it could taste good, but I'm sure it's possible!
Hello, found thus huge colony in Curacao. ruclips.net/video/H2HnuqStvjY/видео.html

The transportation bill is a terrible idea. There shouldn't be more red tape in transportation improvements.
Here in south Georgia we have one we call dead man fingers mushrooms. What is their real name ?
Great program! Will be a useful reference for the new volunteer DNA project of the Illinois Mycological Association.
46:00 perhaps the lower 02 levels at high elevation have something to do with the larger fruiting bodies? Lower temps could play a role but generally freezing is never good for mushrooms so that could be a fine line.
Exceptional speak and beautiful stories and pictures!
Really enjoyed presentation.
Awesome talk and gorgeous photos
23:45 "Now if you're *really* thirsty... don't drink from that stream." Damn I love this man!
I'm excited for this new segment!
Poor audio, constant rhythmic squeak.☹️ WTH
This is very interesting! The information provided will help me in a project as we are measuring the levels of heavy metals such as arsenic and lead in store-bought mushrooms (organic and non-organic.) We're focusing in portabella and oyster, and excited to see what are our findings.
Fascinating from start to finish! Thank you, Bill!
The video title is great
I love watching Alan Rockefeller. You all had great questions too. Thank you.
