@jadehughes2097 you're welcome. Skoolies are my obsession now, so I'm very active in that area .
Already broken
@@ehhcanada elaborate please
@@ehhcanada can you elaborate please
@@WideAwakeTravels tracks not synced together every movement is more and more damage to the tracks and the motors
@ehhcanada I can see how you would think that but that's not true. If you watch the full build video you'll see that I built the mounting brackets that connect the bed to the track actuators in such a way to allow them to be out of sync. The bed is basically floating on "hooks". It is not bolted to the track actuators. Each track actuator can lift 150 lbs, so that's 600 lbs total. The whole bed, mattress included, isn't heavier than about 200 lbs, so each track actuator can handle some more weight when the bed tilts towards it during movement. In order to make them sync up always, I'd have to add more electronics, which complicates the setup and adds more failure points. My solution avoids that. The track actuators don't get out of sync more and more each time they run because they sync up every time the bed goes to the very top or the very bottom and stops.
@@ehhcanada what do you say?
Little John….
Amazing. Even with the wiring showing it still looks so clean. Great job!

Hey, looking to replicate exactly this in my RV! Could you share more about the bed frame itself? Is it aluminium, did you weld yourself? Any thoughts on making it more lightweight?
@@SamehKhan hi, this video shows how I did the bed frame: ruclips.net/video/GTaCzWzyl9E/видео.htmlsi=h_AGqTeNm-88J-aM and yes it's better to make it out of aluminum to make it lighter, but I don't have the welding equipment for aluminum, so I made it out of steel.

@@DERlpschauer haha I see
you should look into this new technology called a Murphy Bed. much cheaper...
@@darkflux you don't have to be condescending. The murphy bed wouldn't work with the room layout.
I'm assuming this would work with a 7-pin 3-way rocker? As a rule I prefer having to hold a button down when these kind of actions are happening because it requires me to pay more attention. I do like how it stops automatically with the built-in stops
@@justinlucenti5373 yes you can use a 6 or 7 pin rocker switch. This video goes over how to do it ruclips.net/video/H7zg7ZdD13Y/видео.html . If I want to use a switch that requires holding it down, I'd have to put the switch somewhere else because the bed would hit my hand while it's moving and I'm holding the switch. Good idea though, just needs a different location.
I think my other comment didn't go through. I watched a beginner's skoolie plumbing video by a YT channel called "Their Happy Trails" (they've lived in multiple buses over the years) and he used a plastic black inserted panel on the exterior of his bus that had two inlets on it. Traditionally, One is for city water and the other inlet is for gravity fill. He modified it though. He kept the city water inlet the same but he made the gravity fill a vent. Then he installed a separate inlet for gravity fill. He said that gravity fill is annoying because it takes so long, so they use city water line to fill their fresh tank because it's a lot faster. Since the pressurized city water goes into the tank, it needs a vent because if not, the tank could explode. In your video, you say you want your city water to bypass the fresh tank and just join your pressurized plumbing system. So I'm guessing that neither one of you are wrong, you're just doing it differently..right?
@@laurieclarkson9180 yes we are doing it differently but with our system we can also fill up the tank with city water. It just first goes through the 3 stage filter, to the shower, and in the showerhead we are gonna put a diverter valve to send the water back to the tank and fill it up. That diverter will also be used to save the water when we turn the shower on, because for few seconds the water that comes out is cold, so we are gonna divert that water back into the fresh water tank. It's a unique system I thought of. We haven't finished that part so that's why there isn't a video for it yet. Also, because of being able to fill the tank with city water , we also had to add a vent, and we have a video for that here already.
Around 12:50 you mentioned that the city water line will connect to the bus plumbing line "After the pump and before the filter" I thought the filter comes before the pump?? well maybe you're using multiple filters..do you mean before like..a filtration system for clean water? --like small particles..cause I think there's a filter before the pump for bigger particles right? LOL you can tell I'm just in researching phase.
@@laurieclarkson9180 Imeant before the 3 stage filter. Yes there's a small filter before the pump, but that's just a strainer for big particles. I wasn't talking about that.
What if you installed all these exterior inlets and stuff before painting..would that be problematic? I'm seeing people add holes in their roof for wood stove pipes and all that exterior stuff after cabinets and other things so I was thinking maybe it's good to do it earlier..maybe before spray foam and just rough everything in and cover all the rough ins??? idk..
@@laurieclarkson9180 you can add the holes before painting but I would still remove the inlets before painting, or not put them at all before painting, just have the holes, because you'd have to mask them and it's not a professional look. When cars get painted professionally, they remove all the lights before painting. That's what we did. The final product just looks more professional.

I have recently been chasing an issue with very similar symptoms to this on my skid steer that I picked up cheap due to smoking badly. It's a common rail Bosch system and I noticed if I unplugged the cylinder 2 injector it stopped knocking. After a compression test yesterday, and all were good on pressure but cylinder 4 glow plug was wet, I shifted my thoughts to the injection system. Also when I drained the oil it was 7 quarts over full (16 instead of 9). Think I have at least 2 bad injectors, and maybe a bad CP4 as well (Debris from pump ruined injectors). Anyway thanks, as your video helped confirm some of what I am seeing.

@@cycleoflife7331 i know of it. I didn't want to put it due to higher chances of leaking. I might do it for the gray tank since it's outside and I don't care if it leaks.
@@WideAwakeTravelsthey say the uniseal is leak tight and since you’re putting it on top of tank it shouldn’t be a concern. On another note. Are you expecting your filtration system will filter out the toxins found in the schedule 40 piping. Also cut your gravity fill hose with the pex pipe cutter for a clean cut.
Great video! I've been considering trying to build my own custom system for my trailer and this is exactly the right direction. I saw that you already commented on someone asking about making this a more "portable version" using the hose bib fitting for inlet/outlet fittings. My question is, do you see any reason the flow from the larger hose would be too much for this system? Also, in general, what do you think is the optimal water pressure for a system like this? I generally set mine between 45-50 but I wonder if this needs a little more pressure to avoid low pressure in the system due to the 3-stage filters. TIA!
@@digital8101 I don't think the larger hose would cause the problem. Since I haven't hooked up the system yet, idk what the pressure drop is coming out of the filter. It's something to test.
Thank you for making this vid. It helped me as I was going to use one of those small RV accumulators but those only give you enough water to fill a glass and would only help the pump minimally. Don’t know why you didn’t use a male threaded tee instead of a female tee with male adaptors saving the cost of several adapters.
Awesome. regarding the tee, maybe I didn't find a stainless steel one that had male. Also, one has to be for PEX. I guess I could have gotten all three male, then have a fitting that's female threaded to PEX. Maybe I didn't find one. I don't really remember.
@@WideAwakeTravels I also ordered a four way 1/2” threaded male. One for tank. One for pump and check valve. One for shore water and one to go to filters. I think that’s the set up!
@@cycleoflife7331why does one go to the tank?

R u happy with the level of gloss? Is there a high gloss top coat you looked at? Or recommend?
We actually wanted it more matte. To make it glossier you can use finer sand paper when sanding the bus and then put some clear top coat. You can also sand between the coats. We didn't put any clear top coat so we didn't do any research on that. The best would probably be some automotive top coat.
Thanks for making this video! I really appreciate the time and the links. I'm thinking about making my own, but I would need it portable...so I'll have to think about how to make the stand. Thanks again!!
I'm glad the video is helpful. Yeah you can make it portable either by welding up a frame from square tubing, or making it out of wood, like 2x3s and/or plywood. The only other difference would be the fittings for the in and out of the filter. You'd probably want to put the hose bibb fittings, since it's gonna be portable
This is the most helpful video I have found. I can tell you have designed flexibility and maintenance value into this design.
Thank you. I would still recommend doing the solar racking like Jonathan has done it in this video ruclips.net/video/6_RpkbhWq8I/видео.html
