Chevrolet really made the biggest pile of shit ever when they made this pile of garbage. Bought this pile of crap brand new in 2013 have had nothing but problems 105,000 car is shot. To replace the manual transmission it is a $10,000 fix. They don’t build parts you have to buy the complete assembly. HVAC also went that is another $2500. Shame on you Chevy for producing crap. 8 chevys so far and now I am switching over to Toyota and I will never ever return to gm.

100% turbo fail rate. There is a small oil line on top of the turbo that needs to be changed often... pcv valve needs one of the hacks or it causes so many issues...

There are so many variations of these cars. I am in Australia. Mine does not have the purge valve (or secondary air pump for that matter) even though same 1L mitubishi engine.

Double check the check valve in the intake manifold these engines love to eat them and everyone’s quick to blame the actual Turbo PCV systems on the 1.4 are junk while you’re at it may have to replace the valve cover if it’s squeaking

Had my Chevy Cruze for the last 5 years.. had to get a new engine at 120k miles then had to replace cooling system components and now ignition switch and fuel tank sensor..

Check pcv pipe (ridged) almost looks like cable insulation.

Why do you have to drain oil

This is most likely a clogged oil feed line, causing your turbo to overheat and seize the bearing. Once your car cools down it’ll drive like normal, but I would get that checked out before the turbo explodes like mine did last summer.😂

The waste gate can get stuck open it does it to me every once and a while the goes away.

I have a 2014 RS 2LT After 120,000 turbo started causing issues. Coil pack failure, replaced. Intake manifold caused turbo problems, Replaced. Last night I replaced the oil supply line due to a leak. Fixed the underboost code again. Luckily the car was only 8,000 bucks at 68,000 miles and paid for itself after we sold the pt cruiser (which was worse than this car by far). Otherwise I’d be pissed. I expected to run into some issues with a low end Chevy. Never buying a turbo charged Chevy ever again. Or a turbo period if I can avoid it. The majority of my issues are turbo related. It also had a coolant leak. Fixed that too.
