I really want Jeong I Chan to debut. I know a lot of fans from iland are voting for him but he’s still in like the 50s. I really hope his popularity increases and more fans vote for him cause I’d love for him to debut! Also Hiroto doesn’t only have japanese fans but also chinese since he was on a chinese survival show too so hopefully he’ll be close to the top 9 for the show and then get voted into the final lineup like Kang Yeseo from girls planet!

Nice video! Almost all my top 9 picks are listed in this video somewhere. My picks are Sung Hanbin, Park Gunwook, Han Yujin, Lee Seunghwan, Lee Daeul, Kim Gyuvin, Zhang Hao, Keita, Jay Zhang. I think they’ll stick to 6 K-members and 3 G-members. It’s a mix of who I personally really like, and who I think Mnet would want to debut. From what I’ve seen, Hanbin, Yujin, and Gyuvin are sure-debuts. They’re quite obviously favoured by Mnet. Gyuvin is put together with Hanbin and Hui in the first mission, so there’s surely some type of narrative that they will create for him to boost his popularity. Yujin is already being edited in such a way in the recent trailer that is sure to bring in a lot of attention to him. He’ll be a lead character in the show for sure. And he’s also put together with Hanbin and Hui a lot. It’s funny how you remarked that Park Hanbin is unlikely to debut because he shares the same name as the chosen K-center, becausy I honestly think it’s a real thing. My top pick in GP999 was You Dayeon and I was already prepared for her to not end up in the group, but smh they really evil edited her like that to get rid of her. Sad to say I think Mnet will milk Hui’s popularity just to not include him in the final line-up - just a gut feel. Hui is not in my Top 9 but he’s definitely a K-group wildcard for me. I would think Mnet would not want the age spectrum in final group to be too big, especially assuming that Yujin is sure to debut. Similar reasoning for Kim Jiwoong, and also because I’m not confident that Mnet is entirely open to include a member with a portfolio in BL works in their group. Seems to me like they’re just using his popularity. He’s also a K-group wildcard for me. I’m hoping that both Mnet (and the public) will realise Gunwook’s potential through the show and give him a good story arc that will bring more attention to him (and his talents!), kind of like Park Woojin in PD101 S2. In my eyes, he’s the main rapper of the new group who is also an all-rounder. Agree with what you said about Jay, which is why I’m also hoping that he gets a good amount of screentime in the show. He’s definitely lead/main vocal material in my eyes, and so far I have a good feeling about Mnet’s perception of him. From the trailer it looks like he’ll be the main ‘English’ person on the show (which helps the show connect with an international audience, so hopefully Mnet doesn’t get rid of him so easily), and being already fluent in Korean is definitely an advantage. I have a feeling that Lee Daeul will be given a story arc similar to Kang Hyewon/Nako in PD48 - the F class trainee to rise up the ranks. Despite his atrocious dancing in his fancam video, somehow when combined with his charming visuals it created an extremely likeable character. He has the kind of visual that Mnet typically favours, so I’m thinking he will benefit from the bias just that we haven’t seen it yet. Not to mention he actually has a pretty good voice. Depending on how he’s painted throughout the show, my current bet for the leader position is Lee Seunghwan. He’s already a leader in the first mission, and it would work age-wise as well (among my Top 9 picks), and Zhang Hao would be a good co-leader with him. I’m actually a bit worried because in contrary to what you said I actually don’t think he’s that popular right now, which is a surprise to me. Anyways, looking forward to the show! I don’t think I’ll watch the whole thing, but I am excited for the new group. I told myself to not be too involved with this show a while back but after seeing some of the contestants, I fell down the rabbit hole lol. There’s really a lot of potential that I see!
