Good job, and keep it up! Your video answered all the queries I had regarding MX3 Petrol AT.
@cryofthehills thank you!
Thanks for the Video! Can you please share the dealers number for Alloys? That's a great price.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching both Part 1 and Part 2 of your videos and truly admire your ability to explain every intricate detail with such eloquence. I’ve been eagerly waiting for someone to do an in-depth review of their own petrol MX3 AT, and I couldn’t agree more that this variant offers the best value for money-provided one can forgo the 4x4 capability. Looking forward to more of your insightful videos and especially the upcoming drive review. By the way, I noticed the AZ sticker on your windshield-delighted to see a fellow car enthusiast from the pharma world!
Hello, Are both brakes in front and Rear of MX3 Petrol AT Disc brakes?
@@anandu.thampy yes you get disc brakes on all 4 wheels in MX3 Petrol AT. You do not get disc brakes at the rear of the Diesel AT MX3 though, only drum. This is because MX3 Petrol AT gets the full power of 174 HP and full torque of 380 NM while Diesel gets only deruned power of 150HP and torque of 330NM.
@autoandart8832 Thank you so much. I had this doubt since long. Even customer executives were doubtful about this in showroom.
Very good presentation thanks for sharing ❤
Awesome value!!
@@MrSunny050 indeed! Best 15 lakh ex-showroom package you can get today. The most car for your money!!
@MrSunny050 this variant is still great value. It was temporarily spared from the price hike that happened last week for many variants, including the top and petrol 4x4. However I do expect Mahindra to fix the price anomaly, why this variant is so low priced, and correct that with a big jump soon.
I’m also 6’2 and from Chennai but living abroad. Been wanting to replace my 13 year old rapid with Thar 5 door which will only be used for about 1k kms a year. I visit India twice a year at max. Does the petrol engine need to be fired on daily or is it ok being not used for a few months? MX3 seems like the goldilocks choice here. Hows the under thigh support? That’s my only concern as the front seats look skinny.
@@ajitmoses Petrol engines need less regular running than Diesel but still twice a year is not enough. You will need someone to take care of it, do a short drive at keast ince in 2 weeks and keep it clean. Thigh support is not a problem for me. Seat has plenty of adjustment range.
My running would be 1000kms a month. What do u suggest PAT or DAT? Thanks.
@@souryarana5487 Depends, if you travel 12K kms a year, assuming a real world mileage difference of 3 kpl between peteol and diesel, you are looking at approx 500 litres extra, which comes to around 60K higher running cost per year. If you are looking at MX3 AT, you will need 4-5 years to justify the 3L difference in cost, so I would say go for Petrol. But if you are looking at MX5 or AX5L, Diesel is only 75K or so costlier than equivalent petrol and you can go for Diesel. But you will miss the smooth power and quick acceleration of the petrol. It really drives like an expensive imported petrol SUV.
@ thank you for the detailed answer my brother! Going with MX3 PAT.
I have heard about body roll and seats not that comfortable for family is it true?
Body roll is minimal. The chassis has been stiffened for safety and body roll is much less than similar Body on Frame vehicles like Innova Crysta. You can take curves on highways at reasonable speed with confidence, though you should never overdo it with such tall vehicles. There is loads of space in the back row, more than Creta and Seltos. Flat floor in back with no central hump. Seats recline nicely as well and there is lots of thigh support. So back row is super comfy. Front seats lack thigh support but hey, is that the priority? You are driving a superb vehicle which engages and involves you in the drive. It rides (glides) so well that it is not far off from a 90-lakh Rupee Jeep Wrangler on smooth highways. Powerful, commanding and smoooth!
Any idea if fog lamps can be fitted to MX3?
No but it comes with controls on the steering stalk to operate fog lamps. All one needs is to fit the fog lapms afatermarket and it will work just like MX5 or AX5L
@@sivk9963Apparently, Mahindra has not yet unlocked the feature in MX3 but an update is coming to enable this in a few months.
How is the petrol mileage is it good?
About 7-8 in city so far. Maybe a bit more if you are a very sedate driver. Problem is, the engine is so powerful and addictive that you cannot stop yourself from giving the accelerator a nudge now and then and shooting far ahead of everyone else the moment you spot an open stretch.
@autoandart8832For highway or long distance will it give more mileage?
Loved your detailed review. I have been very confused with mx3 vs mx5.
If you are going for Petrol AT, MX3 is a great choice as it is incredible value for money.
@@autoandart8832At means automatica? And is it 4x4?
@@Roma_103 AT is Automatic Transmission. AT Tires is also used as an acronym to indicate All Terrain Tires which are used more often in 4X4s. So good question there!
Hi, I'm planning to get this variant. Can we fit the front sensors and 360 camera from the Mahindra dealership itself? Also, since you have taken the alloys from a different shop. How much does alloys cost in exchange of steel rims from mahindra itself?
Front sensor (audio) fitment should be possible as it was also available from Mahindra as an accessory for the 3 door Thar. 350 degree camera is more challenging as it requires video integration into the head unit. May not be possible without deep surgery😊
How much would you think will alloy wheels of decent quality cost And which do you think is better mx3 peteol at or diesel mt
You can get a set of 4 of the MX5/AX5L original 18 inch alloys from the dealership for about 50K. MX3 Petrol is too good in terms of Value for every Rupee. Superb to drive, very smooth and powerful. You feel you are driving a German SUV in terms of power and smoothness. But it is a gas guzzler as you can imagine.

Petrol or diesel? If we have monthly use around 1000km? Any idea abt service cost of petrol?
@@CRICTONIUM-CRICKETCHANNEL In MX3 AT, Diesel is 3 lakhs more on road than Petrol. It will take you at least 7 years to recover considering FE of 10 kpl for Diesel and 7 kpl for Petrol and also opportunity cost of interest on the difference in price. Service cost of petrol will be about 10K per year - cheaper than Diesel.
@@autoandart8832you are right, I am also planning for Petrol AT Thanks anyway
Did you install Alloys separately?
@@Toll-Traveller yes, from a tire and alloy wheel dealer here in Chennai.
@autoandart8832 Hi im from Trichy. Im also getting my MX3 diesel delivered in few days. Where in Chennai have you installed? How much will it cost? What is your alloy size? I want only 18" for better ride quality. How about OEM alloys? Is Mahindra offering one? Can you help me sourcing it from Chennai ? All I need is only this change in my MX3.
Will it get apple carplay in future?
@@RahulJain-rv3bp yes, in 6 months or so. The certification process is long.
@ but the brochure shows a cross sign in feature list of apple carplay. In other variants it is written coming soon, I have a doubt it will get it or not.
nice review !! how good ride in broken roads!! just to compare monocoque midsize cars like creata .. it is best VFM car we can get !!
@@SanKiranKReddy Ride is better than all other Body on Frames including Fortuner, Crysta, Endeavour, ScorpioN, Scorpio Classic etc. Monocoques will be better on broken tarmac but then on bad surfaces they feel fragile. The Roxx will be somewhat bouncy on bad roads, (as food as BOF can get) but you do not have to worry about damaging anything and can drive peacwfully, knowing that it is built to take abuse, unlike in Creta etc.
very detailed review 👍MX3 AT P is best VFM T Roxx with all essentials & some can add afterwords .. myself booked little late Hope M&M commits delviery !!
@@SanKiranKReddy absolutely, in all other variants (MX5, AX5L etc.), the difference between Petrol AT and Diesel AT is just Rs. 50,000. In case MX3 alone, the petrol AT is cheaper than the Diesel AT by Rs. 2,50,000! You straightaway save 2 lakhs on ex-showroom price (around 2.5 lakhs in on-road price) by going for MX3 Petrol AT over Diesel AT (MX3 P AT is Rs. 14.99 lakhs instead of Rs. 17.49 lakhs for MX3 D AT). Plus, MX3 Petrol AT comes with rear disc brakes, while the much more expensive D AT comes with only drum brakes in the rear.
Why people still go for diesel? Bcz the diesel thar costs only 50k more ex showroom than the turbo petrol 😂
@@abhishekrathore2586 In the case of MX3 Automatic, the Diesel AT costs 2.5 lakh more than MX3 Peteol AT. This is just ex-showroom - on road, will be almost 3 lakhs more. And after paying so much more, you do not full power Diesel but a weakened one compared to AX7L. With Peteol AT, you get same full power as AX7L petrol AT. Also Diesel AT MX3 does not get disc brakes, while petrol AT does.
@@autoandart8832hi is it has 4 discs ?
What floor mats are those?
@@logancoutinho21 GFX - they are the best, custom made for Thar Roxx. You can get them from carhatke.com for about Rs. 4000 for a set covering front and rear row. I hate the 7D ones with multiple design patterns and textures. Just love the convenience, fit and finish of the GFX ones. I had these on my Thar 3 door too. Just remove the bucketed mat which has raised edges to trap the dirt and dump the dirt out. They are made of ruddy plastic, and can withstand mud and rough stones too and will last longer than the car itself!
Sir mileage batana plz

Mileage??
7-8 KMPL City, 10 KMPL Highway
Nice vlog👌 However two other important features (besides alloy wheels & fog lamps) that the MX3 variant misses out in comparison to MX5/higher variants are (a) Acoustic windshield (leading to better noise insulation/NVH levels & (b) Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Yes, however, the cabin is eerily quiet even in the MX3. One can always switch out the windshield to Acoustic one without a major cost later on (around Rs. 8000). Yes TPMS is a miss, but I never had a flat tire on my 3 door and TPMS was more of a bother throwing error messages when the pressure dipped even slightly and forcing a visit to the pump to refill. Also TPMS can be fitted aftermarket as well.
Alloy wheel cost please brother
From dealer it is 12K per wheel I believe.
@@chandu2477 I got it aftermarket for 7K per wheel, 35K for a set of 5. Got lucky as someone with AX5L just upgraded at the tyre shop to larger wheels.
If AX5L you should have changed tyres as well to 19"? How much did tyres+ alloy costed you? @@autoandart8832
@@autoandart8832hello sir, Possible to share the tyre dealer number ? I am looking for similar option
@@shaileshreddy5024 In Chennai BM Lal Tyres. You can get their number on Google.
I am also planning to buy this variant mx3 petrol automatic but very nervous about the mileage some youtuber claiming about getting 5-6kmpl average in the bumper to bumper traffic ? What mileage you are getting in the city traffic? Also this will be my primary car so planning to do the trip in every 2-3 month rest the vehicle not be use so much Also in a month i will not drive more than 500Km so what do you prefer to go with the petrol or diesel car for me? The difference in petrol and diesel AT is 2lakh
Go for Petrol eyes closed. Your yearly running is 6000 km only, so even in an extreme case assuming get 6 kpl on Petrol and 9 kpl on diesel, you need 1000 litres of petrol versus 670 litres of diesel per year. The difference in fuel expense per year is only 330*100+670*10 = 40,000. You will need to run the diesel for 8 years to break even with the petrol, as on-road price difference will be close to 3 lakhs between MX3 PAT and MX3 DAT. Mist importantly, you get a detuned less powerful diesel mHawk in MX3. But you get the full power petrol with 175 HP and 370NM. It is a hoot to drive!
@@sivk9963 Yes, Petrol AT is SWEEEET to drive!
7-8 KMPL City, 10 KMPL Highway
Did you installed the alloy wheels from company.. If yes then whats the price for those ? Also how muc did you paid for insurance
Mahindra charges 12,000 per alloy wheel I believe. I got it from tire dealer, Someone with an AX5L had just changed to larger aftermarket non-Mahindra alloys at this guy's place and I was lucky to get the stock alloys for Rs. 35,000 for a set of 5.
At first, I thought you are new to cars but just after few minutes, I saw the devil eyes beside the thar and I got to know that we have a serious business now. 😍
Thank you!
Hi am from Chennai and have booked same variant. I noticed a mention about on road price was at 18.2l. my dealer has quoted 19.8. may I know which dealership in Chennai you booked in Chennai. I find MM a little cheaper but not at the rate you have quoted. Kivraj is the most expensive... Any suggestions to get the rate negotiated...
I calculated 14.99 + 18% road tax + Around 50K for insurance = 18.2L - Don't take expensive insurance from dealer, just buy it from PolicyBazaar. Also refuse any mandatory accessories. You can write to Mahindra Customer care if dealer demands you take inflated insurance from them or try to force you to buy accessories you do not need.
