This video highlights the various steps that are required to create a handwoven textile, looking at the process that creates the product. Featuring an Echo & Iris weave structure, an AVL Compu-dobby loom, and Christine Mi...

I saw you wear gloves, I have trigger thumbs and possibly others. Do they help your hands?
They do help, in a supportive way. The compression does soothe my hands as I work - I like them!
I like your pattern.
It worked, I’m inspired!
Yay! Love it that you have some new creative juice!
I’m watching to get inspired to go finish measuring my yarn.
Good luck and happy weaving!
Hi, thanks for posting. Can you please tell me the name/type of fabric used for the sails of the ship. Many thanks
Yes - it was cheesecloth. You can separate cheesecloth out for 1, 2, 3 or 4 layers. I can't recall how many layers my student used, but it was at least 2, maybe 4. When looking at the material, you can make a decision about how many you think would be appropriate for your project. Hope this helps!
I love your work ! Were I can buy color wire ?? Please send me a message ❤️
Thank you so much! One place you can buy the wire is at Parawire.com. They have lots of gauges and colors.
Чудесно,потресающе красиво❤
Thank you! 💞
What a great setup! I loved your demonstration. I have to complement you on your stunning scarf! It is really an extra ordinary piece!
Thanks, Linda!
What is the base fabric? For this scarf??
A silk chiffon works nicely for nuno felting - it has an open structure that allows the wool fibers to move through it and bond.
what is it made from and why is it so expensive?
Wow Christine, you are amazing. This is work of art ! To have done this for 40 years, I would say that you are definitely a Master at Your Craft. Very impressive.
Beautiful! 🤩
Thank you so much, Marina! 🤗
beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Can mod podge do the same
Tristan - I'm not sure, BUT I don't think it would have the same strength that Paverpol has. Once applied, it can make a fabric VERY hard & strong. And, the larger the object, the more strength the produce you use needs to work - so Mod Podge might work on something small, but not as well on something large. You should do your own testing to see what will happen! Good luck!
I love this video! I have only one handwoven tea towel but I always use it joyfully. :)
Thanks for the compliment, Cindy! 🥰
I'm unable to hear you!
Sorry about that, Tanya! It's not a video I have control over, but thanks for watching!
Such a beautiful video ❤️
I appreciate your comment, Andrea!
This was so beautiful, and I absolutely adore the title "Dr. Seuss of the Coral Reef"
Thanks, Andrea! It's so fun when work becomes play!!!
Looking forward to seeing some more of your videos! You deserve more views. Did you ever check smzeus . c o m!? You could use it to promote your channel!!!
Christine, this is so informative. I'll keep sharing. Magnificent
Thanks, Gabrielle! I love teaching people about the fiber arts!
Christine, how much more I treasure the towels I bought from you! They are so soft and yummy, too.
Thank you, dear! From one teacher to another, it makes a difference to me to understand the process behind the product. Kisses!
Thank you for sharing. I thought I would make it back to Dallas during this exhibition time and distance and time just didn't work out for me. Congratulations to both of you.
Thanks, Debbra! I'm glad we could bring the exhibit to you!
Awesome. I have used this same technique but with Kool-Aid and snow. It was fun and the colors came out great. I have gotten super results just using Kool-Aid and vinegar to help set the colors, for those who don't want to invest in a more expensive dye.
Thanks for sharing this alternative path, Linda! Love to have those easy work arounds to get a similar end result!
Where is the begining and what about the continue of this process?
Wonderful, thank you... i just purchased your beginning class
Is there a part two videos
