@d0nmills from what I remember, they initially wanted to run artics on the route, but the pandemic halted those plans. though I wouldn't see the nova artics surviving this route either considering the state they were in, and especially now, lmao. even still, I don't think they even considered off peak hours cause why in the world would you still be operating artics on the 927 off peak, therefore still running orion hybrids in some capacity. this whole switch was a joke prior to it even happening. idk why they were ignorant to even remember what happened back in the late 2000s, when the arrow had the orion hevs basically fresh out the factory, finding out they died like flies on the 191, but whatever I guess. either way, it was still an interesting moment to see orion hybrids operate on this route again "officially", rather than a RAD/overtime orion hev on the route, lol. hopefully, they do switch the 927 back to mount dennis, considering the division is now littered with xde40s and a few xde60s.

@@ttteslafanboi-torontorapto6785 TTC has had issues with the novas too. All Artics were put out of service due to " unexpected acceleration". The 2018-19 Nova Hybrids were pulled from service due to a mechanical failure. The 33xx novas that run on the 900 had issues in January 2023

@@martingr0ve64 I always prefer New Flyers over Nova Buses. The New Flyers have very nice interior, the ride was smooth, the seats are soft, and it smells very good inside.

The 35 did get articulated buses for a bit during the pandemic. The reason why they haven't really pushed the idea of articulated buses on that route before and now simply has to do with how Jane station is laid out. From what I remember is that they were doing a different looping during the pandemic in a way where they could actually run those buses on the route. I think the issue was exiting Jane station, since there isn't enough space for an articulated bus. Also I think none of the bays at Jane are long enough for a bus that size but I might be wrong on that.

@@martingr0ve64 Jane station definitely has plenty of space for the articulated buses. From what i remember, 35 did not get articulated buses during the pandemic. I believe only the 89 in my area got them. Additionally, the XDE60s have been doing training runs at and through Jane Station, handling the turns just fine

They stopped putting artics on the 35 when they switched divisions for the route from Arrow Road Division to Mount Dennis Division in 2021 (or possibly right before the switch I don't exactly remember when it happened). I completely forgot they were testing the XDE60s at Jane station and I also checked Google Maps cuz I don't visit Jane station often so I really don't know how the length of the bays, and yes you are correct, it's possible for one to board passengers, lol.

Too early to tell honestly. Also it isn't really a fair comparison considering those Nova Artics are 10+ years old now. For the most part though, they're pretty similar to the XDE40s, pretty smooth.

Yeah, 29 was a weird route to chose, but glad they're finally out.

It's not only these routes, but they will also appear on the 903, Finch and Steeles once McNicoll picks up the other half.

lol. I actually never been the biggest fan of these buses ever since I was 4, (they were only 2-3 years old back then). honestly it's a mix of them being so repetitive for me, (cuz of where I live), and so loud at times as to why I never liked them. they're good buses, and I get why ppl love them to death, but I ain't one those ppl. xd the reason why I record them anyways is cause I know ppl like them, and a sort of way of preserving history I guess, lmfaooo.
