Why Do DJI Drones Have So Many Problems?

I've been a longtime DJI user. I started off with the original Mavic Pro, and since then I've owned the Mavic Air, Mavic Air 2, and Mavic Pro 2. While these flying cameras are amazing pieces of technology, they are definitely not cheap - my Mavic 2 Pro package cost about $1,800 when I purchased it. So I've been using the PRVKE that I just got really recently, 31L, and it's both deceptively big and small. I can pack out the camera cube without much issue at all but the roll top feels like an endless void. The bag is pretty heavy even empty so packed out it's pretty intense. I do like how it cinches down a lot to be a good EDC bag with the cube coming out of the bag easily and. I wish it was easier to access things when the bag is held open but it is nice overall. I do need to keep a flashlight offhand though to see inside the bag when backstage since it isn't a high vis interior

    Be careful if you buy the backpack in Australia as spare parts are not stocked. I lost chest band as shown in the video, and WNDRD was $5 used to replace and $100 USD to post! Outrageous, find a better supplier because the chest strap is easily lost!

    I love mine so far and I's recommend the hip belt (although it would be nice if it were Capture-compatible on both sides). More than large enough for two MFT bodies (Lumix G9 with battery grip and G9M2) plus six lenses covering 12-800mm EFL and everything else I need. I actually use side access (like a sling) as I can change lenses without removing the pack. As a designer, I also happen to think it's the most attractive pack out there (especially in Midnight blue), so obviously that's subjective. In any case, as you say, it doesn't scream "camera gear inside!"

    I just got this backpack and I got it for my two week Thailand trip so I can have a “smallish” bag that can handle my Canon 5D Mark IV and two to three lenses. Wow! I’m writing this and listening to your review and just heard you live in Thailand! Looking forward to my trip and choosing this bag over the Nomatic McKinnon 25L which is too big IMO. Being in Thailand, you know that flying domestically in-country, the airlines have a 15lb restriction for a carry-on, crazy! So I got a Nanuk 935 case for my lenses, tripod, batteries and chargers, and I’ll just check it; camera will go with me in my backpack and then I’ll transition everything to my backpack while on land. Thanks for your review.

    Question: you say both backpacks are water resistant but the BOTTOM of the Wandrd is NOT. I've read reviews on their page with pictures showing the contents being damaged because the bag was set down on wet ground and it soaked all the way through the internal padding. So have they changed that?

    I would definitely have loved having those extra pockets in this backpack, like you mentioned. These missing pockets were really the only things I didn't prefer about this back, compared to the 21L version. I would have been happy to pay a bit more to have them included. However, it is still a really nice backpack!

    Great review, as I was debating on which backpack would fit my unique needs. I'm able to make a more informed decision based on this review. Quick question on all day comfort for the PRVKE 31L. Some reviewers have mentioned that back padding on the V2 design still does not allow enough airflow, which causes their backs to be more sweat-prone. Have you found that to be an issue?

    • @AlchemyVisualyoutube
      @AlchemyVisualyoutube 11 месяцев назад

  • @MonsterS4R996
    @MonsterS4R996 Год назад

    I had the "original" version of Prvke 21L. And switched to PM x Nomatic everyday bag. To me personally, PM backpack is a clear winner. The biggest issue I had with Prvke was the "secret pocekt(Passport pocket) on the back panel. It looks like they changed the back panel design. But, the original version had upside down "U" shaped passport pocket, and the zipper slider iwas located in the worst position. Like, 90% of the time when I put the backpack on, the zipper slider hit the nerve spot on small of the back and it's REALLY painful, so painful you'd stop breathing for a few seconds. THAT alone is enough (for me, personally) to stop using it. Another thing is the bag doesn't stand up straight on its own. If it were designed like Peak Design everyday backpack or LowePro ProTactic (that are NEVER going to stand up), it's actually better. Because it (Prvke) sometimes stands up, you put the bag down on the ground, thinking it will be standing there. You take your eyes off, then, moments later, it's laying down on the ground. The loops on the shoulder straps are useless. So are the side pocket. (Better get sling bag if you need that kinda function). It was definitely (way more) uncomfortable than PM backpack when it's loaded.

    i done the same thing fully expecting to commit to a year. once the year was up i tried to cancel. but you can only request to cancel within a certain period. I did not know this. As i wanted to cancel the day before the renewal, i was too late and was FORCED to commit to another year. I didn't make the same mistake the year after and had successfully prized myself away from the grip they had on me. As you say, not honest and very bad business practice. Abit scummy in my opinion. 1 month later after attempting to find songs on Lickd, epidemic sound, soundstrip, artlist, etc.. im actually looking to sign back up with musicbed, as much as it PAINS me to do so. They have the monopoly on what i need so unfortunately i dont see any other way for me just now and have to continue paying the outrageous price every month for another year. Saying all that, after I finished my subscription, all the music that I have licensed during my sub period has remained online and I have had no issues with the videos.

    • @AlchemyVisualyoutube
      @AlchemyVisualyoutube Год назад

      Yes, it fits under airport seats no problem (unless of course you fully load the top roll section). As far as scratch resistance, I would say this is a bit subjective as almost any bag develops some marks over the time you're using it. With this bag, I find that it's pretty easy to clean/wipe off so it's not really a problem.

    Thank you for this excellent comparison! I have the Nomatic McKinnon 25L Camera Pack with Divider Kit, for use with a Nikon Z system. I pretty much concur with most of your points about the McKinnon bag, especially the lack of small external storage pockets, and the functional color choice of the interior for locating one's gear in darker environments. One I might also mention the lack of load lifter straps on the shoulder straps. I think that these would greatly aid in the comfort of the McKinnon, especially when loaded with heavy gear. Does the WANDRD have load lifter straps? Also, no pockets on the shoulder straps, like some other bags have. Thanks again for the awesome comparsion!

      Update: I did get the PRVKE 21L Camera Backpack, and totally agree with you that the straps are supremely comfortable when the bag is filled with gear! The overall construction is top-notch, and I like the external pockets for small items, something that the McKinnon unfortunately lacks. The only thing about the PRVKE side access flap is that it's just a bit too narrow to accommodate the height of a Nikon Z8, though a smaller body would certainly fit it. That said, both these bags are excellent. Thanks again for your superb video!
