Loved your reaction to The Beatles first appearance in America. I was watching this when it was broadcast and it was all anyone could talk about the next day in school. I was in a band within a week and I've been in one ever since. Sixty years playing music. Thanks John, Paul, George and Ringo.

First of all, thank you for watching this video. There are so many things to say. About your comment about the energy of the audience going down for modern shows, you have to realize that this is totally live. No autotune. No pre-recorded tracks. These four young guys are playing and singing in real time. The Beatles, along with the Beach Boys and several others are rock solid! Thank you so much for watching this.

Dude they are the greatest band of all time in my opinion. They energize me like no other. I could list 25 bangers off the top of my head. The first 7 albums are perfect man, peerrrfect!

In order to understand the audience reacting the way that they did, you have to understand the times and what came right before. Musically, we were suffering through something called the "Teen Idol" era, (manufactured artists who were put out there to sell records) America was hungry for some REAL MUSIC and The Beatles were the REAL DEAL.

This was held in what is now known as "The Ed Sullivan Theater" In NYC ( and currently houses the STEPHEN COLBERT Late NIght show, only seats 700 people. The night that the Beatles made their first live appearance in the United States on Feb. 9, 1964, on The Ed Sullivan Show, there were 50,000 requests for tickets!!! With only 700 seats available! I was 16 years old that night, watching them on TV. My 17th birthday was coming up exactly a month later on March 9th. This is NOTHING compared to their concerts! I saw them live in concert twice in Cleveland, Ohio on September 15th, 1964 and again on Aug. 14, 1966 when I was 19. I am STILL a "die-hard" Beatles' fan today and always will be! Those of us fans who were around when they first hit the U.S. are usually referred to as "First Generation Fans" It was a FANTASTIC time to be a teenager!!

Great reaction!!! Iron Maiden are currently touring and just recently announced a new tour for 2025 and 2026. It's my favorite band by far!!! So many great songs its hard to describe. The Latino audience's from Brazil, Chile and Argentina are all fun to watch. Live Maiden or some music videos are hard to beat. Try live Paschendale and Rime of the Ancient Mariner!!
