I recently picked up the SLA047J1 MM300 and this is the best watch I’ve ever owned period.

I bought SPB383 in release and SPB381 in this summer, that green is SUPERB. Personally don't mind GMT function but otherwise I think easily best looking Seiko ever

At that price I'd definitely take Longines. 1000 and I might be tempted by the Seiko but I would still feel it was slightly overpriced. But I wouldn't because of that damn ugly X ruining the dial (which the superior original wasn't ruined with)

Yes 100%. Let Orient be the value brand and Seiko move to a mid tier. I love The Five line but it's holding Seiko back

And you didn't even mention that it has the absolute best bezel action of any seiko diver currently made.

Great video. I agree about not being afraid to try a lot of watches early in the hobby to learn about ourselves. A lot of my watch friends who started around the same time told me to stop buying affordable watches and to save for a middle-tier or high-end luxury piece but I did not listen. Fast-forward over a decade later, we have all moved upmarket but their watches do not stay in their collection, including brands like Tudor, Omega, Rolex, and such. Meanwhile, I am buying and selling far less often as any of them and I am satisfied with my watches, both affordable and luxury, because my decisions are more considered. Yes, I spent more money early on than my friends but now they are taking a significantly larger loss each time they lose interest in a watch.

The date not even being in a vertical orientation kills it for me. Stupid but thats how i feel. Also the dial feels busy compared to mm200

I am not a fan of the date at 4 o’clock but otherwise I think that is a great piece and you won’t get a used Omega GMT at that price. I would have bought that if I didn’t already have 2 other GMT

It’s a great watch. The metal trim ring between the bezel insert & crystal is eye grabbing. It makes the watch unique for me. The ceramic bezel is excellently done. It has the tone of a luxury dive watch. I picked the green. It can pass for charcoal or black in dim light, then shines in direct sun.

I picked this watch up a couple months ago too! You are so correct when you say it looks so much better in person. I stopped in to my local AD and chose it over 10 other SEIKO’s. I chose it over MM’s and other comparable priced Seiko’s. I have no need for a GMT but the gold GMT hand adds so much pizazz to the watch. I you’re right the polishing is off the charts!

Love it. I know Seiko is seen as a value brand but i think thier higher end stuff is still value. Its all relative to what you compare to. This is certainly at entry swiss level and competitivly priced.

got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MAMACOO 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.

I like the watch I got from AMZWATCH. That rubber strap combo looks really cool! Been wearing it since last year and love every minute of it.

I own a Batlady, Sub no date, and an explorer 2 polar. It is the Ranger i wear and enjoy the most. Perfect daily beater, great quality and refiness.

Love my Skx007 and 009. Perfect the way they are with the stock jubilee. I wouldn’t change a thing. If I want more “luxury” feel/features then I have my BB58, Breitling Colt 41 etc.

I have the black dial one with the Roman numerals. Every time I want to sell it, I wear it for a week and fall in love all over again. Great watches.

I know everyone hates on quartz but the eco drive is so much more accurate and hardly needs service -and guess what -they make this watch in eco drive.

When it comes to fine imitation watches, AMZWATCH delivers. I've bought from them several times, and I've never been let down.

Got the one with the blue dial on sale for 334€ and I love this watch, I do understand the criticism but it's a great watch no matter what very beautiful and well made, lightweight and comfortable, but I do have to say that the titanium material is VERY sensitive to finger prints and stuff like that And mine runs at approx. +5 to 10 or more seconds a day which is meh

An automatic without a microrotor never needs a display caseback for me, you don't see much of the rest of the movement with a massive rotor in the way.

You got that right, $500 with a Miyota 8* series ! They should have used at least a 9015 movement, high-beat and slim. Tsuyosa is hyped up a lot. Well, at least it has sapphire glass.

Oh, I once had a girlfriend like that. & she thought I was being romantic with the low, soft lighting.....An integrated bracelet (bo!) , not milled (bo!), no easy adjustment clasp ( thrice bo!) plus small seconds (quadruple bo!) . Fix those, put in the same movement as the Fujitsubo - & prego!

Not that I don't love, and wear some of the other models that Tissot offers as a brand. Call me a pig headed Englishman, but the PRX/ integrated bracelet frenzy has always been lost on me. I don't know what kind of money Citizen are asking for this particular of model. Perhaps they deem movement decoration as too expensive for the asking price. A solid case back might have made more sense.
