How are these other frames better, though? Really the only reason why vauban is “bad” is because a frame like him isn’t really needed in most popular modes. He excels at defense type modes, and is generally pretty good with a stationary playstyle. You just don’t need to play the modes he’s good at. I don’t think there are many- if any- frames who can lock down an area like he can.

@@yamnbam4346 We've surpassed the point where being able to lock down mass amounts of mobs is useful. Our level of power has increased so much that we refer to the average butcher, lancer, crewman etc. as a "trash mob". The actual mobs that _would be WORTH_ locking down (because they don't just accidentally die without our knowledge from the massive area effect damage we're dealing) are immune to being locked down. The kind of frames who ACTUALLY prevent you from failing a Circuit defence are frames like Zephyr, who when she just stands on the pod, her 3 bounces all ranged attacks in random directions, including many Eximus projectiles. Or, Gara, who can create a physical blockade to stop a Thrax charging in and one shotting the pod. Or, frames which can mess with "threat level" like Octavia or Styanax. Or, even Frost, who can apply 4 cold procs to even overguarded enemies to slow them by 65%, as well as prevent projectiles with snow globe (tip- snow globe has an invulnerability period which absorbs incoming damage and converts it to health, like iron skin, allowing it to scale to level cap). And lets be real, outside of Circuit defence, it's very very hard to actually fail any kind of objective defence no matter who you pick. So if we want to talk about "who is the laziest frame for afk'ing mobile defence", it'd probably someone like Octavia or Xaku. Furthermore, CC is most of what Vauban provides, and the CC he provides isn't even great by Warframes' standards. Vortex ragdolls enemies and gets them stuck in random corners, and ragdolled enemies still don't trigger doors to open. Bastille still, for some god-forsaken reason, has an enemy limit. Compare that to a frame like Gloom-Protea, who can easily achieve Gloom's slow-cap with her passive, causing every trash mob in a huge radius to be slowed by 95% and perma-stagger chokepoints with slash AOE's, on top of providing infinite energy and ammo to the team, immortality to the entire team with shield sattelites which double your shield gate duration, and all this is before talking about Blaze Artillery? Yes, relatively speaking, Vauban is bad. Again, any warframe can be made to complete any content, but aside from subjective reasons like "liking the way he looks or feels", Vauban leaves you with little incentive to select him.

@@felix_patriot Vortex’s enemy cap problem can be solved by either placing down another one, or simply killing the enemies inside. They’ll be defenseless. And if you’re worried about an ‘unaffected eximus unit’ or someone with overguard (in either case, their armor will be stripped, and from what I’ve heard they’ll be slowed slightly) you can just shoot them. They’ll have less enemies protecting them, so it’ll be way easier. Even if there are like…3 or 4 eximus units attacking you at once, that’s WAY more manageable than a room full of 20 dudes trying to paint the wall with your blood. And with his scaling damage, it really isn’t hard to kill enemies. If an enemy gets stuck somewhere cause of vortex…just go kill them. You can see where they are. I’m honestly not even sure if enemy cap should still exist for abilities. For Nekros or Caliban it sucks ass, but it kind of makes sense on Vauban. I think the devs should just raise them a little for Vauban though, not remove them. He can also abuse electric damage with Tesla bank, provided you use the armor strip that’s in his kit. And if you group enemies with vortex too, the electric damage goes pretty hard. You can also just use photon repeater and/or its augment. If you wanna bring up how dogshit or redundant Vauban’s other 3 minelayers are, then I agree. Bounce pad is a troll, tether is redundant thanks to vortex (though you can still force people into a Bastille,) and overdriver orb just isn’t noticeable. But he still functionally has 4 good, working abilities. (Devs should really look at his mines though) That’s far from a bad frame imo. ‘Relatively speaking’ doesn’t properly do a frame’s kit Justice, and it leads to kit designs that start becoming samey. And it honestly looks silly when people call a frame like Vauban bad anyway. It’s not particularly difficult to play him effectively, though I do believe he has problems the devs should address. That won’t ever happen though, because people keep discouraging other players from checking out ‘bad’ frames just cause Brozime or Sabuuchi called them shit once. These frames become less popular, and unless they’re the most or least popular frame in the game, (or just particularly infamous) their chances of receiving attention are slim if the devs don’t have any sort of bias towards them. (That’s not shade at the devs, sometimes the devs really want us to check a frame out and that’s fine.) Honestly I think you should play Vauban a little more. Just cause it’s ‘better’ to pick option 2 doesn’t mean option 1 isn’t worth anyone’s time. While he’s definitely more suited to stationary or endurance modes, he can do faster missions just fine.

I found the regeneration from archon stretch futile so I didn't bother. You get enough energy from arcane energize and the vortex pulling in the orbs so it's nothing to worry about. It doesn't hurt nonetheless

His tesla nervos, orbital strike, boost and tether pads are all pretty pointless, very niche. everything else is good.

True, but it's sometimes better to only have to move once a minute in survival

Yea, but after you activate this you won't have to move for at least a minute, it's rather a survival build where you basically afk the mission. Breach surge is optional as well to be honest, it can easy kill of the enemies with just the flechette orb as well

In my experience so far, it doesn't need more defense. Just the bastille and flechette orb is enough to stop enemies(eximus included) from getting to you

@@robpalm-n3v eh hardly matters unless your doing endurance runs for real long times and even then weapons can carry you even if the frame cant with the right combo Just fun to try new things and seeing what sticks
