Federal Signal 2001-DC "Roundback" | Full Alert | Niles, OH | 10/5/24
This was the monthly test of the tornado sirens in Trumbull County, Ohio. Like Warren, Niles also controls its sirens at the city level, but tests at the same time as the county.
This siren is located at the Niles Intermediate School on Margaret Avenue SE in Niles. It was relocated here sometime in the 1990s or early 2000s, but was originally installed a few blocks away. This siren was quite a bit louder than I had expected it to be, and I was also surprised to see it rotating at 4 RPM as well. After this siren winds down, you can hear other 2001s from Warren and nearby Howland Township.

American Signal T-128 | Full Alert | Zoar, OH | 1/5/22
Просмотров 2022 месяца назад
Recorded on January 5, 2022 Back in January 2022, I went out to record this rural T-128 in Warren County. This one was at a church if I remember correctly. It was an extremely cold and windy day that day, although the siren was still rather loud. Warren County tests their sirens on the First Wednesday of the month at noon, weather permitting. Camera(s) Used: Panasonic HC-V380 (video), Canon Vix...

Recorded on September 4th, 2021 This was the monthly test of the tornado sirens in the City of Warren as well as throughout Trumbull County, Ohio. Tests in Warren (and Trumbull County) typically occur on the First Saturday of each month at noon, weather-permitting. Warren's sirens are on "Tier 3", which are sirens in Trumbull County that are controlled independently by the municipalities they a...

Edwards Coded Pull Station Demo
Просмотров 44910 месяцев назад
This was an old video I recorded back in 2017, after I first purchased this Edwards coded pull station which came brand new in the box. The pull station is model 1269-0 I believe, and has a two stage general alarm key switch on it as well. Systems such as these would have been used in applications such as large performing arts venues, hospitals, and other institutions or large buildings where a...
Simplex 4002 Fire Alarm Test
Просмотров 6 тыс.Год назад
Test of a system in a university building housing offices for non academic departments and staff. This test was to see if the recently installed network integration panel would communicate the alarm to the Simplex computer at dispatch. The test ultimately failed as the 4120 network serving the campus has been experiencing intermittent problems. The reason the strobes were not going on the secon...
Simplex Fire Alarm Test at CBA

Helped with a fire alarm final inspection for a new system in a university building. The building had a new addition put on it several years ago which added TrueAlertES devices to that area. This upgrade upgraded the system in the older part of the building from older speakers, strobes, pull stations and smoke detectors to all new devices and TrueAlert ES hardware. The panel was also upgraded t...
Hurricane vs. Mobil Directo - SirenCon 2023 Finale
Просмотров 3,9 тыс.Год назад
An ACA Hurricane MKII and a B&N Mobil Directo (BN52, gas powered) sirens compete during the final soundoff at Sirencon 2023. Both ex-Milwaukee units, the Directo was in service during World War II and the Hurricane was in service until its replacement 20 or so years ago; it had not sounded since its removal until the event. The Mobil Directo won this contest, hands down. Enjoy!

Will (@njsirens) was also here with me. This is siren 507 in the system. Other than a run-in with a man from the police department afterwards this year's test was pretty normal and the siren was pretty loud. Beaver Valley did their annual full audible test on a Wednesday this year and also did it a week later than normal, which was strange. As usual, the IPAWS system was tested in addition to t...
Whelen Vortex | Full Wail & Accidental Activation | 2023 Ohio Statewide Tornado Drill | Midway, OH
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.Год назад
For SWA this year, I ventured to this newer Vortex in Midway. It was installed back in 2020 or so. Madison County normally only tests for 5 seconds weekly, and they were rumored to do full wail for tornado warnings - with SWA being the only time of the year the sirens run the full 3-minute cycle. Needless to say, it didn't disappoint. They activated again on accident a 2nd time about 5-6 minute...
Federal Signal Equinox | Full Alert | Concord Township, OH | 4/13/22
Просмотров 752Год назад
*Recorded on April 13, 2022.* Back in April, Cameron and I went to see this Equinox in Concord Township that replaced a WS-2016 back in the fall of 2017; siren L-43 in the system. As you can see, the pole for the old siren is still up and stands next to the current siren. This siren was pretty loud and the pitch jumped around quite a bit as it was a cold and windy morning. Not much else to add ...
American Signal T-121 | Full Alert | Vienna Center, OH | 11/6/21
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.Год назад
*Recorded on November 6, 2021.* Over a year ago, Chris and I ventured out to see this T-121 in Vienna. This siren has a bit of an interesting history, as it replaced an old Sentry 3V8 in the same spot back in 2018 after that siren was hit by lightning and rendered inoperable. I attempted this siren back in January 2019, but it failed since a circuit board in the controller blew. It now works, a...
Sentry 14V | Alert | Homeworth, OH | 9/3/22
Просмотров 848Год назад
Back in September, Chris and I went to this 14V in Homeworth. As you know, these Sentries (4 14Vs and a 3V8-H-B) replaced Knox's broken ACA Allertors back in 2019. I was lucky enough to catch the old Allertor here working back in October 2018. This 14V is running off a VFD just like the other ones in Knox Township; the VFDs are set to peak lower on purpose due to the high amp draw which caused ...
Sentry 14V | Short Alert | Northfield, OH | 10/6/21
Просмотров 940Год назад
Last year, Chris and I went to this 14V in Northfield Village. This siren is located at the Fire Station off of State Route 8. This 14V was installed in 2020 as an indirect replacement to the old Model 7 that was located on the police department building just down the street. It wasn't very loud from where we were standing, about 300 feet away, but maybe the traffic on State Route 8 next to us ...

That poor bird’s nest.
Man, that sentry 40V2T siren sounded like the THX deep note!
Little question, is FS&S, FE and Fedelcode all different brands of Federal Signal or former names for FS?
1:37 doesn't sound healthy
Near the corner of Lincoln Way and 1st Street
From 2001 to RM-130 to T-128 to equinox
These have a built in code 3 option? Sorry i dont collect vintage.
All of these alarms should be replaced with Truealerts to meet requirements. I'm digging this system so much but some horns don't sound well, but it's time for a replacement!
The system works fine. The old 4901-9805's sound rough but there is still life left in them. Truealarts would not be installed as I doubt this system is maintained by Simplex.
It's sad these things are going offline now.
yas
huh
That is an SRN. Not B.
Th3 9838a from 3:31 to 3:43 and from 4:43 to the end are just perfect. They both sound JUST like the 9838 in NewAgeServerAlarm's oh so famous "System Test 26.1"
Was the middle school 2 floors somehow i saw the stairs at the end of the video
no bud i have been less than 100 ft away from a bolt and it is not that loud and it was on a good chopper 4 with a 5m blower and keep in mind that i did not wear hearing protection i had it but i took it off during the test
At 0:26 you can faintly hear it growl before actually doing alert
Rare af
The red siren has been removed sadly.
If they do this to the Aca hurricane tho
Wasn’t there a 3T22 nearby I believe?
Hey, The Noise That These High Pitched 9219's Do Sound's Alot Like A Napco RP8LCD And RP1CAE2 High Pitched!
The 9805 at 2 28 sounded healthy
4:02 Beep Brr Beep Brr Beep Brr Beep Brr Beep Brr.
If they were 4 Wire wall mounted versions they'd be able to pass.
50 Of these were made and somehow you recorded one of them ( most of the FE Tbolts "Jailbars" are inactive or replaced )
Alright here we go
I love these 4020s so much. Seeing them are a delight. The random changes in sound... these are also in my college.
These things are ridiculous loud overdoing it These things are at my work being next one of these causes mind to go blank for 3 seconds
These Old SRNs sound cooler than the Newer Ones in My Opinion.
Every building that has a simplex system there’s always 1 or 4 Truealerts as their replacement.
It replaces all the older alarms, vintage classic Simplex, 4903s and QuickAlerts.
They should put them in continuous
I am T-128! HEAR ME ZOAR!!
Are these horns much louder in person
Oh yeah, those 4903-9219, 9215 and 9217 horn strobes are loud, especially the newer versions with a colored shape on the strobe reflector.
Just curious. How are you able to hear the tones for the siren activations? I want to be able to do that with the ones where I live.
reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I assume they previously had a 4002 panel which explains why it’s in March Time.
Hey SF57, may I use this video in a compilation? Your video will be linked in the description. Thank you in advance! :D
How big was the middle school
#mejjiboi
Those Truealerts towards the end are having a really hard time doing march time lol. Great video!!
They are smartsync truealerts on a coded nac. It’s not how it should be.
I live in Shiloh Ohio
March time FTW
yess ikr
I did not expect the 9838 on the strobe plate in the end thats cool where they separate buildings
So half the 9838s survived
Is that your old school
Same district, this was the middle school which I never went to. The high school was torn down and rebuilt several years ago by the time I was already at university
@@sirenfreak57when did they discontinue the 9805 horns
What alarms and system did they used to have at the HS that is now demolished?
That's half of an XT22!
so ig it wasn't just the camera not agreeing with the bright strobes this time...
they need to change the coding to fix the alarms as i hate March time and continues is better
March time coding helps speed up the pace of the evacuation so it's kinda better in my opinion
@@RaccoonAlarmsVosgra ok well thats you and anyway i have a Roblox game for you i will send the link when done as its still being worked on
@@SylvieonPiggyFan29YT uhm okay
My Mom and Sister would not Approve. They Hate Continuous.
I think continues is better as it sounds more urgent. March time and code 3 don't even sound urgent. Also continue code is proven to be better anyways because it's easier on mechanical horns.
This is a lovely system! I think I actually saw a Simplex 4903-9101, alongside 2903-9101s. I feel like there were two types of TrueAlerts in this school; Free Run (They sound normal) and SmartSync (They sound weird). And I think that was a 4903-9252 (If the strobe is 15CD, models vary based on the strobe intensity) because of the horizontal mounting style. A lot of these 4901-9805s sound really raspy. My favorite sounding 9838s are in the gym.
The 9805's i believe naturally are raspy for some reason.
i didnt expect march time 2903s in a school
Ohh just like ur hs
This was at the middle school, the old high school has since been torn down and rebuilt, but yes
@@sirenfreak57 I just graduated from the new high school. I ended up leaving STVM my junior year because of asbestos exposure. I was just in Medina today and their schools also have Simplex systems from the same era (70s or 80s). The elementary school that is right next to the high school (at one exit) has two pull stations just feet away from each other. fun fact, your MS's original name was Eastview--the district used to be called Bath-Richfield until 1967, when they renamed it after the high school. I believe the new high school probably has some kind of voice evacuation system
@sirenfreak57 did they have 9846s any were bc them 9838s were high pitched
@@vintagesimplexfirealarmsof6440no this building was added onto after those horns were discontinued which is why they had these
