Perhaps I am easily impressed, but a $3 endmill thats still sharp after an hour and producing a mirror finish seems like a great deal to me. www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZZYJU2U?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Siege X2D Mini Mill, Is It Any Good?

This vid is simply to forewarn potentail buyers what they may getting themselves into. Forgot to mention that not only does the micro-adjuster have the backlash stated, but is extremely difficult to turn. The shock absorber upgrade is suppose to make the head even in up/down pressure. It does not. Which is more than likely why the micro-adjuster is so difficult when lowering the head, but upwar...

As you will see in the vid it zips around at a decent pace. Will install Eagletree soon but my guess is 60-70mph. All electronics came installed except rx. Fly's approx. 6 mins on a 3S 1000 lipo. CG is 47mm from leading edge of wing. Balances perfectly with battery in stock location (behind wing in belly hatch). Prop and spinner are reasonably balanced on mine. I haven't noticed any negative st...

    In the end after replacing quite a few out of spec parts I did get it to work (good enough). To be honest, plan on spending double on tooling what you spent if you bought a mini mill. The best work around I found on the micro-adjuster was to make what I call a speed handle for the round knob. ruclips.net/video/mcsCf2qwSS0/видео.html Game Changer imho.

      The Ebay seller closed up shop. 3 Axis Digital Readout DRO 250&550&750 mm(10"&21.7"&30") Precision Linear Scale is the listings name which should give you the specifics needed to order yours, if using this same mill. Took me a couple evenings to figure it out.

    H01 inserts would sort that no problem also small manchine with thats less rigid in the z axis would do better with a apkt style all a apkt1135 h01 or ampt1135 for steel would be completely diffrent allso aluminum likes lubricant to avoid sticking it to inserts Rpmt1204 or 1606 style shell mill is a less than ideal solution for a small machine

    You answered my question in the first 30 seconds.......I bought the klutch brand some years ago and it has the same issue with micro adjuster (it's a joke!). I'm in the market now for a mini mill and trying to find one with a good micro adjustment.

    Its bad, can be worse, I got a column mill and it was falling apart out of the crate, screws loose, screws stripped, ways gapped unshimmed, gear shifter broke, Z nut had 2-3 threads of engagement, trash garbage. I got the Sieg lathe and pretty much worked out of the box, kinda makes me want to get a Sieg mill but not sure now. Ive used a G0704 and it did the job, was in a maker space and survived.

    I don’t even know where to start. First it is clearly stated in the specs that the face mill capacity is 1.2 inches. Second, given the fact that this is a low power machine using carbide cutters on this large of a cutter is destined for failure. Carbide requires a deeper depth of cut to function correctly than HSS.. Once again you are blaming the tools for your lack of knowledge. Buy a damn fly cutter. It is a single point tool much more suited to this machine. And the chips stuck to the surface is a direct result of not using a lubricant ( WD40)

      Sorry for the late reply. I have not recieved any notifications to replies to this video. Yes, I did end up keeping it. I complained big time to LMS about so many parts being out of spec. In the end they shipped me what I wanted to get it working alright. High precision it will not do. But for hobby stuff it gets a pass.

    Good for you for Caring . Not a lot of that left in our world . I'm a retired mechanic & just about everything is junk these days . Happy to be out of it . Why should you have to fix something that is brand new . Hard to find anything that didn't come from China .

    • @gangleweed
      @gangleweed Год назад

      Why???.....because people nowadays only look at the price tag not the specs of the machine.......China knows this and so it damps down the price by reducing the build quality.....it can be a boon to those on a tight budget with ability to rework a machine with problems but don't expect a Rolls Royce built like an old Mini.

    The best reason for buying this and/or the mini lathe is to completely rebuild the machine yourself and teach yourself the basics of machine tools construction.

    @jasonballamy9193 Год назад

    Put some inserts intended for Aluminium in it rather than the cheap general purpose ones supplied. They will totally transform the way the head cuts 1/2thou cut is way to shallow and all you are doing is rubbing the surface Use Kerrosine or WD40 to stop the surface picking up and causing those chips.
